These hinge shims are perfect for nudging your door over a little at a time. I had a slightly crooked exterior door with a gap at the bottom. Just loosened up the screws on my hinges and slid in a shim, tightened up and it did what it was supposed to. Good cheap fix. Recommended! Make sure you know the size and screw pattern of your hinges before buying. :)

Perfect for exactly for what it is intended. Simple, straight forward, and most of all it JUST WORKED!

Front door was not plumb and had a gap at the bottom of about 3/8ths of an inch. Three issues: 1) the existing screws would not be long enough to secure the door into the jamb, 2) the shims were not the same width as the hinge, so there would be a rocker effect as the door opened and closed, 3) a 3/8 inch shim at the hinge side would be pretty ugly. So I will probably cut a tapered piece of wood to put on the jamb on the opposite side. Note these would probably work well for a smaller gap, however hinge screws are set into the jamb and shimming a hinge even 1/16th of an inch prevents the existing screws from setting as deep. There are 2.5/3 inch screws available specifically for this purpose.

Used this shim to help get exterior back door on my 22 year old home to close and lock again. Door frame suffered from foundation settling. Fit was perfect for the hinge and shim was easy to install in top door hinge. Had to adjust strike plate on the door also, but the shim helped solve part of the issue. Would recommend this product.

I had a door that was sagging slightly. I checked the screws and they were tight. I considered using the trick of bending the hinges, but this is an outdoor door with thick 4 hinges. I came across the E-Z Shims while looking for solutions and decided to give them a try. They arrived quickly. I just loosened the screws to the bottom and middle hinge. I started with the bottom hinge and added 3 shims, or 3/16. I then added two shims in the middle hinge. They slid right in place. I then tightened the screws and there was no more sag and the door shut properly! It took all of 20 minutes and a very small investment to solve my problem!

To adjust how a door sits in the frame during initial installation is easy -- just shim the frame. But after the trim has been on for a few years, the house shifts a little or the door shrinks a little, and it needs to be adjusted again. Removing and replacing the trim is a PITA. These accomplish that adjustment without having to take off the trim.

I easily in no time shimmed up my back door. The directions could be better but you snap the shim in half to slide it into position. Then tighten the hinges back up. No more lifting the door knob to get the deadbolt to lock for us. Easy and worth the money just to end the frustration of an ill fitting door.

Builder built a metal shed on a concrete floor, one of the doors wouldnt shut without a severe shove, my wife couldnt open or close the door at all. I put three of these shims on the hinge that the gap was widest at, and it instantly fixed the problem. Now the door shuts and opens with my little finger

Noticed I could see light coming through the bottom left side of my front door. Its been VERY cold out and I was wondering why my electric fireplace didnt seem to be heating as well. Walked up to the door and put my hand down and you could feel icy air pouring right in! Googled how to fix something like this, found these on Amazon and had them in just a couple of days. It was SO easy to fix the door! I just swung my door open wide, sat down on my front stoop and removed the screws on the side of the hinge that attaches to the door. I slid in one of the shims, put just two of the screws back in then shut the door to check it. Theres was still a gap - though a lot smaller - so I put a second shim in. Now its PERFECT! The door also isnt wobbly when locked since its better aligning with the bolt plates. What a perfect product! Does exactly what its supposed to, super easy to install AND super cheap! Theyre also plastic so not like theyre going to compress or deteriorate like home made cardboard shims will. I still have THIRTEEN left over shims. I posted on facebook to friends to see if anyone else could use them. (The pics are before, after and a shot of the hinge so you can see what it looks like with the shims in place)
