> 3 dayI got same model number shown but holes in picture are slightly different and I had to cut to make room for one screw but simple enough. I know many people just use cardboard or something but that will break down over time and result in possible damage due to leaving the hinge loose when it does. These are plastic and wont just dissolve due to weather etc. Only thing I wish is they made a variety pack. The 4 ones generally work for exterior doors while inside is generally 3.5. I have a lot of spares now as only need like 2 of each lol. Good thing they are cheap!

> 3 dayUsed this shim to help get exterior back door on my 22 year old home to close and lock again. Door frame suffered from foundation settling. Fit was perfect for the hinge and shim was easy to install in top door hinge. Had to adjust strike plate on the door also, but the shim helped solve part of the issue. Would recommend this product.

> 3 dayWe broke apart a set of shims from the pack and stacked them behind the lower hinge of a steel entry door. Install was really easy: we loosened the screws and the shims slipped behind the hinge just fine. The only thing was trying to watch that our fingers didnt get pinched between the hinge and frame because you have to push the shims in so they dont show. Its been a month and the gap is still gone and the shims seem to be doing just fine with the weight of the door.

> 3 dayI had a door which never would close right. It was sticking at the top. I tried to sand it to no avail. I put these shims behind the top two hinges and the edge of the door and now it swings as it should and fits well.

> 3 dayFor years I used cardboard for shims with mixed results over time (cardboard compresses over time). I bought these shims when my front door once again wouldnt lock. The dead bolt was hitting below the bore in the door frame. I removed the card board shims and replaced them with two of the EZ-SHIMS. The door locks normally again. I dont see the EZ -Shims compressing like the cardboard does. The only minor issue (really a non-issue for me), is that you will probably have to trim them as they are not the correct shape for most newer hinges. In order to fit the EZ-Shims in the hinge mortise for hinges with rounded corners, two corners need to be trimmed. That is easily done with a pair of scissors.

> 3 daySo, mortising is a fine art that seemingly is lost. I keep some of these in my work truck at all times. We primarily do new construction and I’ve had several jobs where factory supplied doors had a door hinge mortise entirely too deep. These little things are a lifesaver! If you set and case doors, you should have some.

> 3 dayTo adjust how a door sits in the frame during initial installation is easy -- just shim the frame. But after the trim has been on for a few years, the house shifts a little or the door shrinks a little, and it needs to be adjusted again. Removing and replacing the trim is a PITA. These accomplish that adjustment without having to take off the trim.
