These hinge shims are perfect for nudging your door over a little at a time. I had a slightly crooked exterior door with a gap at the bottom. Just loosened up the screws on my hinges and slid in a shim, tightened up and it did what it was supposed to. Good cheap fix. Recommended! Make sure you know the size and screw pattern of your hinges before buying. :)

The shims worked well to align a heavy metal-clad front door that was sagging. The deadbolt was striking the plate instead of going into the bore, and the whole door had to be muscled up in order to lock it. One issue that I had to work around was that a single shim was not enough to align the door, and with two shims the door would not close. The instructions do not have any mention of this, however if two shims are arranged fully overlapped facing each other with ribbed side being in contact, and the corners of the one that is facing outward are trimmed to fit the indentation in the door jamb, they adjust the door by ~3/32 that was just enough to do the trick in my case. Note that the shims that I received had a 3/4 depth cutouts for the bolts that can be seen in the multi-pack listing for this product.

We broke apart a set of shims from the pack and stacked them behind the lower hinge of a steel entry door. Install was really easy: we loosened the screws and the shims slipped behind the hinge just fine. The only thing was trying to watch that our fingers didnt get pinched between the hinge and frame because you have to push the shims in so they dont show. Its been a month and the gap is still gone and the shims seem to be doing just fine with the weight of the door.

Needed to level out our front door so it didn’t hit the jamb on the bottom when being closed.

After installation of some of our exterior doors there were some visible gaps. After consulting YouTube about this problem I discovered this ingenious fix. These shims enabled us to get the doors realigned to eliminate those gaps. Other than the usual wooden shims I couldn’t find any of these at our local hardware store. Thank goodness I could get them on Amazon!

These installed just fine. We will see how well they hold up over time. They did the job and fixed my issue, along with new longer screws. These are really easy to install but are not for people who don’t have at least some experience.

My door was off alignment, I was able to fix it in 10 minutes flat.

Had the front door to beach cottage changed. The door had un-even gaps (closer to frame on right side but large gaps on top left and left side). The door would not shut without engaging the deadbolt by force. The installer said that it was normal after over $500 install charge. Placing two of this shims by loosening hinges on right bottom and one in middle hinge fixed the issue
