Really makes it easy to make sure a door is plumb

We broke apart a set of shims from the pack and stacked them behind the lower hinge of a steel entry door. Install was really easy: we loosened the screws and the shims slipped behind the hinge just fine. The only thing was trying to watch that our fingers didnt get pinched between the hinge and frame because you have to push the shims in so they dont show. Its been a month and the gap is still gone and the shims seem to be doing just fine with the weight of the door.

These are very useful around the house. Adjusted four doors with these including one with 3 1/2 hinges with a little cutting. The before and after using these makes these doors operate like a very skilled doorman would have installed doors when new. Easy to install.

My door was out of alignment causing the deadbolt to miss the hole unless we lifted on the doorknob while turning the bolt. I tried shimming the bottom hinge but it did not eliminate the problem. Plugging and redrilling holes for the hinge plate screws and using 3 screws, especially in securing the upper hinge to the frame, ended up doing the trick. If, though, you have a gap between the door and the frame on the knob side, these shims are the perfect solution.
