This was my second order of ELAC B5.2 speakers completing a set of 4 to use them as surrounds. Build on these is solid and they feel like speakers far out of their price range. Sounds is exactly as expected - very clear quality and plenty of volume. I dont listen at high levels but do play video games where surround sound can be critical and, with the right level adjustments for distance from listening position, these speakers do their job perfectly. If youre looking for stands to go with them, they pair very well with the Sanus Steel Foundation - get whatever height of stand will put the speakers at ear level in your listening position. A little blu-tak in the corners holds then down nicely. Overall, very pleased with these speakers at this price.

I had elac turntable and sony receiver and bought these to complete it - so a really great system now.

Yeah, I know ... only 4 stars. Ive had several Elacs through here and own the UB52s (keepers I use at my audio workbench). Heres my thing on these: sounds too depressed in the lower mids. Robs the speaker of vocal clarity; especially male vocal. I had this experience with other Elacs. Lovely overall tonality. Great imaging. But that thickness in the low mids drives me crazy. I feel like I am straining to understand a male voice that is speaking. The UB52s are much better. I also compared to Sony SS-CS5 and Fluance Signature. CS5s are fun, musical and pretty clear. The Fluance is similar but more linear, less harsh that the Sony (keepers I think). Just to add to your understanding of my taste Ive had KEFs in here too, and even had the same models in twice (Q-150/350), but sent them back each time. Something edgy about them. Final thought: The Elacs are great and worth a serious listen. Lots of hi-fi in these.

Nice looking bookshelf speakers. Sound is exceptional. Would highly recommend for a computer/desktop setup. Highs and mids are fantastic. Not much on lows (which is understandable given the size), need a sub to finish off the presentation. Worth the money. Big fan!

I switch these out with my Paradigm Monitors 5s... These are fantastic and I tend to prefer them over much the higher priced Paradigms.
