ELAC makes outstanding speakers for the price. I am using one of these as a center channel because it fit in my TV stand. I already use the Uni-Fi UC5 center channel with my home cinema setup and it was an excellent plug n play speaker, I wanted to stay with ELAC going forward. This bookshelf speaker (Debut 2.0) sits between a pair of B&W 684 S2s and works SEAMLESSLY with them.

Very important to get the theater at ear level. I have the set on ether side of my receiver and sit about 10 feet away. In my old age enjoy jazz and classical music mainly and the speakers do a great job. They have the true sound of the recording which maybe a fault for some people.

I was a bit hesitant to buy these due to few reviews out there. I AM SO GLAD I BOUGHT THESE!!! They sound amazing! My house is full of speakers - I have a pair of JBL Studio 530s, Yamaha HS5s, Revel F12s - and these definitely hold their ground! These puppies are well balanced - amazing bass, mids and I especially love the highs on these things. They sound very transparent - not too warm nor bright. The speakers are easy to drive - currently they are being powered by a Yamaha RX-V483BL (80W) and they also paired well with a SVS SB1000 Subwoofer. They almost sound as good as my JBLs but at more than half the price! Do yourself a favor and listen to these! You wont be disappointed!!!

Unexpected amount of bass from this 5.25” speaker. Front port allows for placement on my desk near a wall. Detailed sound with amazing soundstage. I am using the speakers with an Aiyima A07 class D mini amp with the TPA3255 chip along with a Douk Audio P1 tube buffer preamp. Each speaker is quite substantial and weighs 13lb...

These were purchased to replace a pair of Polk RTi4 bookshelf speakers that were too bright for my taste. I am powering these with a Yamaha RX-383 5.1 surround receiver. I was hoping for a substantial improvement in overall sound quality and clarity and these did not disappoint. Positives: Compared to the Polk speakers these Elac bookshelves are clearer with much better separation, better bass and mid range. The highs are clear but never too bright especially compared to the Polks which caused physical pain from the high frequency sounds when the volume was turned up. Negatives: The only possible negative that I have encountered so far is that these are less efficient than the Polk speakers and require more power to get a similar volume. This is not a problem unless you have an a very low power amplifier.

Great speakers. Sounds and clarity are fantastic. Perfect speakers for a budgeter or beginner. Seriously, these will do the job.

Very detailed speakers for the money. Only just received, but impressed out of the box. I am using a Yamaha R-N303 2 channel receiver, a Marantz TT42 Turntable.. I am also using Tidal Hifi Music service through BT.. still in break in. There are in a 10X10 room and are way more powerful then I thought. I prefer their sound on the Marantz.. some songs on Tidal Hifi do sound amazing, others are quite bright. I have a small Vizio center and sub and the base from these on a few songs I thought the sub was also on! It wasn’t, very impressed. These could be front driving speakers without an issue for most size home rooms. I never heard the initial Debut series, which I heard are more warm and more forgiving. If I would nit pick and it’s not the fault of the speakers, rather the testament to their detail and precision is it brings out many flaws in the recordings, vs many sub par systems hiding such... still can’t believe the price in 2018! Well done Andrew Jones (once again helping to bring HiFi back for us peasants :) and ELAC!
