A bit forward but darn, for chump change these are actually close to HI-FI. I could live with them! Sure, my own are better, but one of my tweeters cost that this pair cost.

Unexpected amount of bass from this 5.25” speaker. Front port allows for placement on my desk near a wall. Detailed sound with amazing soundstage. I am using the speakers with an Aiyima A07 class D mini amp with the TPA3255 chip along with a Douk Audio P1 tube buffer preamp. Each speaker is quite substantial and weighs 13lb...

great speakers quality mids highs and even good bass if you are using an amp .. I have the dennon 750 receiver and they are good for surround sound as well but are even better with my NAD c340 amp 2 channel they are amazing ..

This was my second order of ELAC B5.2 speakers completing a set of 4 to use them as surrounds. Build on these is solid and they feel like speakers far out of their price range. Sounds is exactly as expected - very clear quality and plenty of volume. I dont listen at high levels but do play video games where surround sound can be critical and, with the right level adjustments for distance from listening position, these speakers do their job perfectly. If youre looking for stands to go with them, they pair very well with the Sanus Steel Foundation - get whatever height of stand will put the speakers at ear level in your listening position. A little blu-tak in the corners holds then down nicely. Overall, very pleased with these speakers at this price.

Used these for an old school turntable and analog setup. Definately have enough power and nuance to make the most of the experience. I’m not an audiophile so can’t say where they may be lacking but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed at this price point. Lamination on one of the speakers had peeled slightly on a rear corner even though they were well packaged so perhaps slight quality control issue but not significant.

The reviews of these speakers generally tend to rave about them, in particular for their balanced sound and substantially better bass response than youd expect for a speaker this size. The speakers are front-ported, which means the best bass response doesnt require that they be pulled out away from the wall. Im using them as main speakers in a home theater, and this Goldilocks combination of compact size and good frequency response makes them perfect for that purpose. Be warned that the price on these varies quite a bit. I was watching amazon for about a month and saw the price range from $240 up to $279, and I finally got them on sale for $199 (the list price is $329) At the price I paid, they undoubtedly a bargain, but I would have bought them at $240-250 if that was the best price I could find. Seriously, these are very, very good speakers for the price.

Great frequency response, good output. I use them as recording monitors. They are flat in the top end, and I tend to liek things a little softer in the top end, so I arbitrarily roll off the top end from 10khz at 0, to down 3db at 20khz. A very small change that for me, usually makes speakers less bright. I had the Pioneer SP-BS41-LR, also designed by Jones, for years. I would characterize these (by flawed human dead reckoning) as more accurate, and probably they have less distortion over all. The stereo field (again guessing) seems more distinct than my Pioneer SP-BS41-LR speakers - which Ive loved all these years.

Ive had the Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 for a couple of weeks now. My ears are attached to a 60 plus body and theres unclearly :) been some audio spectrum attenuation. Ive had a Yamaha YAS-107 soundbar connected to my TV for a couple of years so to a certain extent, this is a comparison to the soundbar. The Elacs sound very good in overall comparison, but the soundbar is better with higher frequencies and voice. Its signal processing excels at that. I tried running the TV audio through my Denon AVR-S750H and the Elacs but I easily prefer the soundbar for basic TV watching. Its much cleaner, more spacious sound. If I stream music through the TV and AVR, then the Elacs are much better. I had intentions of setting aside the soundbar and using the AVR with Elacs for both TV and music, but I decided for now to leave the soundbar connected to the TV, and use the AVR for music streaming. I bought a HDMI switch so I can switch back and forth easily between TV/soundbar and TV/AVR/Elacs, or use the AVR/Elacs discretely for music. It seems to be the best solution for me at the moment. I am curious what a good 3.1soundbar sounds like in comparison. All in all, I dont regret the Elac purchase. For their size, they sound very nice.
