Unlike some cheaper Z-wave devices, this one stays solidly on the network. It has enough switching capacity to control my espresso machine, and the integrated button makes it easy to control locally when necessary. I like that the button doubles as an indicator to show when the outlet is energized. Do note that only one outlet is controlled - the other outlet is on all the time just like a regular outlet. One thing that would have been awesome is the ability to select whether both outlets are controlled or if only one outlet is controlled. There are times where I would have loved to plug two devices in to be controlled without having to clutter things with a power strip.

Receptacle is doing low-level buzzing noise in the On state, like a cheap phone charger. Competitors dont have such an issue having almost identical price. I dont recommend to use Enbrighten 55256 anywhere at residential due to the buzzing noise.

Bought this because in the Q&As and in reviews customers said the face plate could be swapped with almond color. However this out does not have an interchangeable faceplate… it’s white ONLY. Mea culpa… don’t trust reviewer with product facts. :) otherwise it installed quickly and paired easily.

It was working fine for 4 years. Then after a utility outage the device is offline and dead. The non-switched outlet works but the switched outlet is now un-powered. So Im going to have to replace it. Ive read about the fragility of these devices in reviews here and in forums elsewhere. Consider this a warning: its not going to last forever, maybe not even a few years. Is this something you want to hardwire into your home?

Works as advertised, aesthetics are good, easy to add to the mesh. The only problem with this is that it doesnt have back-wiring, its the push-in wiring type that doesnt securely hold the wires. Residential grade.

There work fine with my zwave system. Disappointed they both failed in just under 4 years. Triggered on and off once a day.

Im still using Zwave since I have tons of devices on Zwave. This is definitely much improved as the pairing along with the app is simpler. No more trying to the smartthings developer mode too with new app. I like many of the new features. I can see wifi will be the norm as that is much longer range and no more mesh type network like the zwave. However, like I said, for now Im sticking with zwave and this device sure is much improved and who knows it might still be around.

I own so I like to hard wire as many of my Z-Wave devices as I can. These plugs are easy to install in most electrical boxes, they take up more room than a normal outlet but still fit easily. If you have a shallow box they may not fit, but I haven’t tried that. The switch works great and no issues with the regular outlet.

I have been very happy with this outlet for the past 2 years. I use it with Smartthings to control holiday decorations plugged into the wall. As such it gets little use most if the time but even with this the item failed on me today. As others have stated, it just starts clicking and will not stay in the on position. I will buy a replacement from another manufactuer.
