Greater than one weekI was looking to replace my everyday use, 8 year old Igloo cooler with one that was just as good or better than the igloo, a locking top was a must, this cooler fit the bill, about the same size as the $25.00 igloo, I have filled the Igloo cooler with the same drinks, lunch and snacks for over 8 years, this Engel cooler melts the ice in half the time, my gauge is, I use 6 trays of ice and the same amount and temp of drinks and half way through the day the ice melted, the Igloo lasted until I arrived home, some 4 hours later, I was surprised and disappointed.

> 3 dayMy husband uses this for a lunch box (a big lunch box) underground in the coal mines. In this cooler he fits 6 gatorade bottles, 1 regular sized water bottle, 4 cans of pop, lunch items, a boxy underground cellphone/pager, and a tray(it comes with the cooler) the tray fits perfectly in the top of the cooler. The latches work perfectly! We have no complaints!

> 3 dayFirst impressions of getting this cooler, it’s quite big. I did get the 19 quarts. There is a lot of useable space and I like the tray that sits on the top of the rim. It also doesn’t weigh that much. Another feature I like is the shoulder strap. I would like to have it a little bit longer. The metal latches are great however the hinges are plastic and are already showing wear from opening and closing the lid. I would suggest using something else that it’s going to withstand that and not break over the course of time. Overall I like it and we’ll see how well it holds up. Especially for the price

Greater than one weekBought this for my 25 yr. old grand-daughter for Christmas after seeing it on her Amazon wish list. Shes wanting to start making road trips in her car and needed something small enough to carry in the trunk along with all her other gear. After seeing her use of it over the weekend when we went on a three day tenting trip I was really impressed by how nice it looks, how long it keep crushed ice frozen and how she kept talking about how much she actually uses it. Though its not super duper insulated like some other pricey brands it held its own over three days even after sitting in her hot car all day at work. Its a beautiful simple cooler. It arrived quickly and was in great shape due to good packaging for shipment.

> 3 dayI use this for lunch at work. Purchased last Summer, handle was broke a few months ago. As much as they charge for these things you think they could use something other than cheap plastic handles and cheap plastic buckles. Lunch ended up on the sidewalk when walking into work after the plastic buckle broke in half. I suggest buying the similar Klein cooler.

> 3 dayI used this product for a lunch box/cooler. Very nice and durable but I think for the money you spend that there should be metal hinges that hold the lid on instead of plastic. The latches are metal but not the hinges…

> 3 dayI purchased this cooler to keep things cold for a few hours while traveling, but I was pleasantly surprised by how long it it retained ice. I tried it for the first time on a day when the high was just over 90 degrees. I loaded it with a chilled twelve pack. Unfortunately, the ice I bought that day had just been bagged and placed in a freezer, so it was wet and melting quickly on the short ride home. There was already a significant amount of water in the ice bag when I poured the ice in the cooler, so I figured it wouldnt last more than 6 or 8 hours even though it was in the shade. However, after opening and closing the cooler throughout the afternoon as well as a few times the next morning to see if it was still cold, it still had ice in it after 17 hours. With colder ice, I have no doubt the ice would have lasted close to 24 hours. If youre thinking this will hold ice as long as a Yeti 20-quart, it wont. This is a 5.5-pound cooler vs the Yeti that weighs in at about 15 pounds. Yeti designs their cooler to do one thing; hold ice for as long as possible. The Engel 19-quart is designed to be compact, lightweight and retain ice for a reasonable amount of time -- all of which were considerations for me. So, if you need your ice to last for days, buy a heavy-duty, roto-molded model. If you need a small, lightweight, high-quality cooler for day-use, this is the cooler for you.

Greater than one weekWe bought this one and a 13 qt. Both are primarily used for lunch boxes. They both work very well and keep beverages cold on into the early evening. Kinda pricey but so far, so good. All in all , were glad that we bought them .
