> 3 dayI purchased 2 of these to give to apprentices. Love these boxes and would absolutely buy another if I could figure out how to wear out the one Ive been using 6-7 days a week on construction sites all over the country. Plenty of storage and keeps you food hot or cold. Im 61 240#s and have no problem sitting on this box to eat. Engel coolers are quality and I expect them to last quite a while. I just wish they made more of them in the USA. Side note, do yourself a favor and buy an extra storage tray, I use one for utensils and condiments and the other as a basic junk drawer at work, keys, wallet, phone, pens note pads and all that...

> 3 dayFirst impressions of getting this cooler, it’s quite big. I did get the 19 quarts. There is a lot of useable space and I like the tray that sits on the top of the rim. It also doesn’t weigh that much. Another feature I like is the shoulder strap. I would like to have it a little bit longer. The metal latches are great however the hinges are plastic and are already showing wear from opening and closing the lid. I would suggest using something else that it’s going to withstand that and not break over the course of time. Overall I like it and we’ll see how well it holds up. Especially for the price

> 3 dayI like the fact that the lid has a gasket and positive latches, to keep stuff out and in.(due to the fact I work in the 48217 zip code most of the time.) The outer shell seems fairly strong as I have dropped it a couple of times and it has not cracked yet. The insulation seems to be better people say. As well I’m in Michigan and thank god not Texas. So it keeps stuff cold enough for 12hr shifts. I normally pack one ice pack in the summer, 2-3)34fl Fiji waters 2)16floz energy drinks of some type (all beverages are kept standing) under the tray I put the ice pack, snacks, sandwiches or whet ever I’m bringing that day. I have been happy with it. Seems to get the job done well.

> 3 dayThe quality of the actual cooler is ok but the plastic is a lil on the cheap side. Omg the strap is super thin and cheap ! Its very uncomfortable to carry on shoulder, the strap kinda look like the straps that you use to adjust on a kids school back pack! The handle on is cheap to . This isnt the worst or the best… butttttt…. The price is to darn high for this cooler.

> 3 dayIm a carpenter and I work long days, this cooler is the perfect size for my lunch, drinks, snacks and whatever else I need cold throughout the day. Its great, latches are metal, the body and lid are plenty sturdy to use as a seat and it seals very well. My only downside to this cooler is its a 1 day cooler, which is fine for a lunch box, but it doesnt keep ice more than 26 hours. I am going to drill a couple holes in the lid and spray foam it up. I have does this before and it makes ok coolers great! Just make sure you silicone the holes shut or it will mold. Yes i would buy it again. and again.

> 3 dayI purchased this cooler to keep things cold for a few hours while traveling, but I was pleasantly surprised by how long it it retained ice. I tried it for the first time on a day when the high was just over 90 degrees. I loaded it with a chilled twelve pack. Unfortunately, the ice I bought that day had just been bagged and placed in a freezer, so it was wet and melting quickly on the short ride home. There was already a significant amount of water in the ice bag when I poured the ice in the cooler, so I figured it wouldnt last more than 6 or 8 hours even though it was in the shade. However, after opening and closing the cooler throughout the afternoon as well as a few times the next morning to see if it was still cold, it still had ice in it after 17 hours. With colder ice, I have no doubt the ice would have lasted close to 24 hours. If youre thinking this will hold ice as long as a Yeti 20-quart, it wont. This is a 5.5-pound cooler vs the Yeti that weighs in at about 15 pounds. Yeti designs their cooler to do one thing; hold ice for as long as possible. The Engel 19-quart is designed to be compact, lightweight and retain ice for a reasonable amount of time -- all of which were considerations for me. So, if you need your ice to last for days, buy a heavy-duty, roto-molded model. If you need a small, lightweight, high-quality cooler for day-use, this is the cooler for you.
