Theres no question that this 19qt. Engel keeps things cooler for longer than our Igloo Playmate. Thats no surprise, given that the Playmate has no insulation (its not even double walled in the lid), and no proper seal on the lid either. So the rubber seal on the lid on the Engel is a welcome plus. On the other hand, its not completely clear to me that the Engel has any insulation between its walls either (the double walls in the sides and lid can flex inward quite a bit), and it remains to be seen if the Engel will last as long (20 years, I think) as our Playmate.

Im a carpenter and I work long days, this cooler is the perfect size for my lunch, drinks, snacks and whatever else I need cold throughout the day. Its great, latches are metal, the body and lid are plenty sturdy to use as a seat and it seals very well. My only downside to this cooler is its a 1 day cooler, which is fine for a lunch box, but it doesnt keep ice more than 26 hours. I am going to drill a couple holes in the lid and spray foam it up. I have does this before and it makes ok coolers great! Just make sure you silicone the holes shut or it will mold. Yes i would buy it again. and again.

I use this for work, going on trips, on the boat, etc. It has seen a number of construction sites and has been thrown around a lot. My food and drinks never get cold and it always wipes clean...even when covered in carbon black. Love it!!

I used this product for a lunch box/cooler. Very nice and durable but I think for the money you spend that there should be metal hinges that hold the lid on instead of plastic. The latches are metal but not the hinges…

I am a Locomotive Engineer with Union Pacific RR and was always looking for a good cooler for my away from home lunches, This is the best lunch box I have ever owned. I would go though 3 or 4 nylon ones a year. This cooler has more than exceeded my expectations. We bang the hell out of them going up and down the locomotives, but this cooler takes the beating. The sealing lid is the best. I dont even put ice in it and the temperature the sodas and food go in the cooler, the same temperature they come out. I have been looking for this type of cooler for 37 years, thats how long Ive been with the railroad. This cooler should keep me going till I retire and long after that. At least 4 or 5 employees have purchased one after seeing mine. After seeing the cooler railroaders have been asking me where I got it, and I tell them AMAZON. Keep up the good work.

Great box with exception of lid and hinges being not strong enough to support you sitting on it at lunch break.
