> 3 dayDocumentation was very good (i.e. written in proper English) for getting it installed. Thanks to the free Eyez-On SMS service, once you activate it through their website, you can rest pretty assured that any alarms triggered while you are away will be sent by text message to any users you define. You can also create a custom randomized URL at the Eyez-On domain (no router port forwarding required) that you use on phone browsers to check, enable, or disable security. The only annoyance I had was that the PCB is only made with standoff holes that line up with the brand of security panel I didnt have. Cant recall if its made for DSC or Ademco, but it did not line up with any holes in my Honeywell Vista 20P box... Leaving it dangling in the panel was not mechanically or electrically sound for a security system that needs to work, so I had to fabricate a mounting plate from insulating material and drill it to the panel with machine screws. Cost about $7 in supplies from Home Depot. I wont ding any stars on my review for that, because this is in all other regards a reliable well designed product from a small company that filled a need in a niche market that I believe should be much bigger than it is. My wife used to pay $40 a month to ADT before we were married, and now we dont pay anything.

Greater than one weekThe Eyez-On interface board is an excellent addition to a home security system. This little board lets you monitor your own system without paying for professional monthly monitoring. What they dont advertise on Amazon is that they also have a UL listed professional monitoring service that is extremely reasonable with no contracts and they will monitor this IP module without the need for land lands or GSM boards. Theres also another third party monitoring service that can monitor this board as well, so you have options. The board did require some alterations to my panel programming to get working, so to use it you must have the master installers code for your panel, but the instructions were easy to follow. I took one star off because Eyez-On only offers a web portal for mobile phone monitoring and doesnt have any native app or push notice support. Their web portal is really lacking in information and user experience. They do have a fairly solid third party interface, so programmers can create their own apps that talk to this, so Ill probably end up making something myself that Im more happy with.

> 3 dayWithout paying $5/month the iphone app is very crippled. You basically need to carry the full programming instruction manual with and type in long sequences to do much with the app unless you pay up. Something as simple as setting it to stay armed (when the system requires a code) doesnt seem to be doable without remembering a star code. I certainly understand an extra charge for central monitoring, but not for basic app features many of which dont seem to need any type of additional cloud server assistance. We bought the device, now let us use it. Thank you.

> 3 dayMounted in my Honeywell VISTA 15P alarm panel. Does exactly what is says it will do and was recognized by my VeraPlus Home Controller quickly. Still trying to figure out how to set it up for Remote Arming, but it works as described and was very easy to install, assuming you have a CAT5 cable run to your alarm panel and can route it back to your internet router. Luckily my home control panel with all my wiring was in the same closet as the alarm panel so it was easy to run the CAT5 link from the EVL-4 to my router located in my living room, far away. One upgrade that would make sensor for this would be to add a WIFI antenna that can extend outside the alarm panel and then allow the EVL-4 to connect to the internet via WIFI, saving lots of folks the problem of not having easy routing of a CAT5 cable.
