Greater than one weekGreat product. Shine it towards a wall or furniture that will reflect the random lighting effect - when looking from outside the light reflection does seem like a live TV is on. Compared it to when my actual TV is on and the light reflections that is seen from outside are very similar.

> 3 dayThe Fake TV performs as advertised. It required zero installation know how. All one needs do is find a plug outlet and plug in the adapter and then plug the end of the adapter in the unit. The unit has settings that will make the TV come on at dusk then turn off after several hours. From outside at night while looking at the windows of my house where the unit is installed, it really does look as though a television were running. This illusion is looking through thin drapes and window blinds. I am pleased with the unit. Hopefully, any burglars will not be pleased. UPDATE: 8/7/2014 I returned home from a few weeks vacation. Before I left, I tested the unit and it appeared to work fine except it came on several times during the night instead of only once each night at dusk. To my surprise, my electric bill arrived yesterday and it was almost fifty dollars more than it usually is. I assume that the lights in the unit consume a lot of electricity together with the fact that the unit comes several times during the night. Lets see - $50 monthly (for extra electricity) times 12 months in a year = $600.00 annually. This is more than I pay my burglar alarm monitoring company. It is good to have security. The only issue I have is the manufacturer did not and does not warn of the high electricity consumption of the bright lights on the unit. I will still keep the unit and will use it again when I go away on vacation.

> 3 dayThis item works as advertised. It gives the appearance that someone is in the room watching television. I put it in a bedroom before I left and when I returned, it was still going strong when night rolled around. I do tend to watch TV when I go to bed, so it seems realistic to me. I placed it on a small table about three feet from the bedroom window and when I checked it out before leaving, it looked like there was a person in the bedroom watching television. I tried placing it on the floor first and that did not give a realistic lighting effect. This one is bright and while there are others that are less so, I would encourage the brighter one for realism. Seems to be well made and I expect it to last. The company emailed me to ask if I was pleased with their product which seldom happens. This was the manufacturer and not Amazon. This posting was prompted by Amazon.

> 3 dayOur friend who does our yard and plows snow in the winter asked us if we had a TV on a timer when we were gone. This tiny little jewel is very good at simulating a TV. We have had one on a timer for 18 months, operating every day, and it is still going strong. I liked it so much I got one for several people for Christmas.

09-06-2025Very clever idea - I had no idea these existed until I saw one at a friends house. It does give the illusion that theres a TV in operation.

> 3 dayIts cute. Works as intended. I personally believe it does look like actual tv is on. However I found its better to plug it into another timer where you have more control over on/off times. Its alittle difficult to find good placement so ppl coming near window wont see the product is a fake yet still keepin the lighting visible. Gotta play with it but yes I would recommend
