We have the original Fake TV (FTV-7) deterrent device at ~half the price, of this this new, Extra Bright model (FTV-11). Its a no-kidding viable burglar deterrent in that - it authentically mimics an operating TV, and makes the house appear occupied. Friends looking at the upstairs windows from the patio deck, or looking at the property from a distance, remark that we forgot a TV on upstairs the Fake TV (FTV-7) is THAT realistic... We combine this device with random (not fixed) lighting timers in other property locations. Theres also a professional grade burglar alarm and security cameras at the properties, should the worst happen, but fingers-crossed, so far, so good. The FTV-11 should be as effective, possibly even more so, as the original. Its best to not have these devices directly visible from windows, and to have them pointed to a wall or ceiling to realistically reflect the LED colors and simulated screen video changes the FTV devices produce.

Love this item as it not only does what a regular tv would show at night, but the fact that it has a timer so it is regulated by whatever hours one would normally watch television. The smaller version would probably look fine too, as this one tends to create quite a light show and the smaller one would have done the job just as well.

It looks like the light from a real TV from outside as promised. It is extra bright, maybe too bright (simulating a too large 46 inch TV) for the small bedroom I used it for. I believe it would work as intended to fool casual burglars. Unfortunately I bought and used this product during the Christmas season, so there were a lot of colorfully lit and flashing lights from indoors and outdoors all over the neighborhood already, so maybe I didnt need it then. It will come in handy in the future.

Picked up one of these for a long vacation that we took. Does exactly what it says it should do! At first I thought it wasnt bright enough but then I realized that it works best when you point it directly at the window. Looks just like a TV running. Only complaint is that I wish the adapter cord was a bit longer, seems a little on the short side.

It looks exactly like a tv is playing from outside the house! I hope it will work to deter thieves from coming into our home.

Every time Im outside and look at my house, I smile. It looks like someone is inside watching tv. I have three of them, one visible from my living room, one at the back downstairs and one upstairs. Two of those will be on every night. Love them ! !
