FakeTV FTV-11 Extra Bright Burglar Deterrent Television Simulator

For the price, this is a very clever gizmo that gives the impression that a TV is on inside of your home when you are away. You can set it to run for 4 or 7 hours, or for a continuous run. It comes on when the house gets dark, and flashes at various intervals as if a color TV was running. Place it facing towards a closed window shade or closed curtains (experiment a little to get the desired distance). No complicated instructions...just plug it in, set it, and go. I will use it along with various light-timers to confuse anyone who is trying to scope out the house.

The FakeTV FTV-11 is bright and replicates the appearance of a television being on in the house. I use it when Im away nights in addition to my home security system. I want anyone casing my home to say to themselves ...better move on to the next house because theres a man in there sitting on the couch watching TV with a shotgun draped across his lap. I have one in the bedroom also.

Really impressive! I was a bit skeptical when opening the box, but it does put out the light. It was worth purchasing the more expensive model for the multicolor options. We feel much better using it rather than leaving a set on timer. The more distance from the window improves the illusion, too close and it is too bright.

Well - I kinda needed it in a hurry - and since it was so highly reviewed, I thought I would ignore one commenters warning that you may get the 10, instead of the 11. I wanted the FTV-11 because it appears to be more bright and powerful. Instead - even though the box had a sticker indicating it was and 11, over the old 10 label, ... I got a 10. See the pic. Its going back.

Assuming youve followed the placement directions, this is a very effective deterrent.

This is cool.. I use it Just for the look of being at home. Even when I am at home. Making it appear someone is awake when everyone is asleep. Great item.. And does definitely look like a tv is on.

This product was one of the more expensive from the list but you DO get what you pay for. When it’s in action, it is very realistic when looking in from outside the window. Other cheaper models flash too fast, this is far more realistic. Worth the extra cost

Better than the standard one. Still, does not look very TV like from outside.
