This is a nice little gadget to keep you safe especially when riding alone. On busy streets, it can be annoying due to the amount of traffic and the corresponding beeps. It does, however, keeps you alert of traffic coming from behind. It is quite accurate but still need to turn your head and signal when turning. Overall very useful amid a bit pricy but I guess safety costs money.

Im just using it for less than 9 months, top on/off button rubber started deteriorating and cracking.

Excellent device. Very accurate. It’s a must have security device, especially in country roads. The battery is a real problem. It will only last about 5 hours, so be prepared to carry a “paper weight” if you are on a long ride.

I was never able to get this connected to use on my phone. So I returned it without a problem.

While I try to avoid traffic where possible, this is a really useful tool for those times where Im forced to share the road. Mirrors are cheaper, but also easy to ignore. If anything, this helps you to make better use of them.

But it doesnt seem to add any value. I ride on a canyon road with small or even non-existent shoulders and have had friends hit by cars here so I was hoping that this would really enhance my safety. I found that it did accurately indicate the existence and approach of cars behind me but that it did so at about the same time that I could hear them. I couldnt see that it added anything that my ears couldnt tell me and if I wasnt monitoring the screen of my Garmin Edge I didnt get any information. I think it is a well made product that does what it claims but I didnt find that it solved a problem. I returned it.

Radar works great. Tremendous safety feature, and it allows biker to keep eyes straight ahead. As a rear light, it is as visible as any I’ve seen and better than many. Costly but one of the best investments in personal safety a biker can make. Only word of caution is to make sure its Bluetooth is shut off when light is turned off, else battery will be dead when you go for your next ride.

This thing is the jam! I was a little skeptical that I actually needed this, and that it would work both well and without being a nuisance. I paired it with an Edge 530 computer in a few seconds, turned on the light and took off on a metric century group ride through the North Atlanta backroads.

It really does detect cars as they approach from the rear. Easy to secure with the included mounting kit. I did upgrade to screw on adapter from Garmin. My only concern the alarm volume aka the beep isn’t that loud. The graphics with yellow and red lines do get your attention.

See and be seen with Varia RTL515 rearview radar with tail light. It pairs with your Edge bike computer, other Garmin device or compatible smartphone to alert you of vehicles approaching from behind up to 153 yards (140 meters) away. When used with your compatible smartphone, the Varia app helps increase your awareness with vibration alerts and more. With daylight visibility up to 1 mile, motorists will be able to see you from a distance. The radar’s compact vertical design allows for device mounting on most road-use bicycles. And peloton mode provides a low-intensity flash that is kind to other riders’ eyes when riding in a group.
