> 3 dayDidnt think Id find much use for radar but, during the dark, its nice to be able to ride in the middle of the road and get a ping when a car might be coming up so I can move to the side. Probably one of the better safety upgrades you can get on a bike.

> 3 dayThe radar/tail light device is really a game changing safety device. The radar almost never fails to warn of approaching vehicles with a very loud warning . It also caused the extremely bright tail light to flash. When I say bright, I mean BRIGHT. All the other tail lights I have seen a wimpy little things that are usually barely visible to approaching vehicles. This one is almost impossible to miss. Overall, I am extremely happy with the device. Like any device you can not count on it 100% to assure your safety but when combined with two rear view mirrors it greatly improves safety. The only problem I encountered was mounting it. The seat post mount was a no go for my bike as I am sure it would be on many others. I had to drill two additional holes offset 45 degrees in the mount piece so I could mount it to a horizontal member of the rear rack. Garmin engineers should have no problem designing a more permanent adapter. The rubber bands that hold it to the rack are not very secure and it tips down on rough terrain/country roads. Despite this problem, I would award more stars if they were available. Two hundred bucks may seem expensive but compared to hospital/burial costs, it is nothing.

> 3 dayI live in a fairly high traffic area and my neck isnt as flexible as it used to be. This allows me to use my phone to know that cars are coming up behind me. It can see several cars at a time and beeps when cars are detected. It beeps again when theyve passed. There are a few cycling apps that this is compatible with as well as several different models of cycling computers. I love that it alerts me as I am not always staring at the handlebar mirror while enjoying a leisurely ride.

> 3 dayRadar works great. Tremendous safety feature, and it allows biker to keep eyes straight ahead. As a rear light, it is as visible as any I’ve seen and better than many. Costly but one of the best investments in personal safety a biker can make. Only word of caution is to make sure its Bluetooth is shut off when light is turned off, else battery will be dead when you go for your next ride.

> 3 dayThe device pairs easily with Garmin cycle GPS, like adding a sensor. Picks up approaching cars well before I can see them In my mirror. Also has dots for each vehicle, and colors indicating relative speed they are approaching. Really nice for ride riders.

> 3 dayI purchased two of these last summer and after 8 months they will not charge. They are useless at this point. These were quite expensive and I am so disappointed. Such a waste of money. The seller wont even contact me regarding the issue. DO NOT BUY. Theres even a forum out there about these no longer charging.

Greater than one weekI went for my first ride with the Gamin RTL515 today. About a 15-mile loop along gorgeous, curvey Massachusetts back roads around Sudbury. The wonderful lineless backroads inevitably empty out onto higher speed connecting roads, off of which you have often have to take a left to find the next backroad you want to turn on to.
