GENIE G3T-R 3-Button Remote with Intellicode Security Technology Controls Up To 3 Garage Door Openers, 1 Pack, Original Version

I have an Overhead Door Legacy Garage Door. I originally purchased the Overhead Door 3-button Code Dodger Remotes for both of my cars. They worked very well. Long story short...One of my remotes got destroyed. I was going to purchase another one, but couldnt find a good deal on them anymore, so I purchased this Genie remote. It has the same capability (dual scanning on the same frequency bands) as the Overhead remote. It programs easily in the exact same way as the Overhead remote. The only downside that Ive noticed is that it seems to have a shorter range than the Overhead remotes, and I sometimes have to take it off my visor to get it to work (but it always works). Note: I gave this 4 stars because it works fairly well with an Overhead Garage Door which is not its intended use. I imagine it works better if you have a Genie Garage Door.

I ordered two to replace the old remotes from a 20 year old opener. The first one took me about 10 minutes to connect because I didnt know what I was doing. The second one took me about 2 minutes which includes pulling the ladder over. So easy, would definitely recommend.

Seems to have better range than original remote. Smaller. Uses much smaller battery. Came with clip to mount on visor or can put on key chain. Only thing did not like was the buttons do not click, mushy feel when pressed. Overall was a nice upgrade from old one.

Works like a champ. Just bought a house with a Genie opener and no remotes. They were easy to program and get us up and running.

Good replacement unit! Took a little time to program, but got it figured out! I was standing on a ladder to try and program it and I couldnt get it to work.... got off the ladder and was going to give up, but thought Id try one more time..... Worked like a champ! I was too close! Works great and no complaints from the family about!

After moving into a recently purchased home in which the garage remotes were missing, I purchased these as replacements. My last house had an intellicode opener with the single button Genie remotes and I must say that I prefer those to these new remotes. The 3 buttons are small and do not have the best tactile feedback when pressed. Plus - I only have 1 door, so the other 2 buttons are just in the way and even after 3 months, I still press the wrong button - especially if my visor is down when pulling in the drive. On the plus side - programming was simple and did not mess up my exterior keypad. These remotes work, but Id go with the single button models if you only have 1 door. 07/14/14 Update Ive downgraded this remote to 2 stars from my original ranking of 3. In the last couple months it has not performed well compared to a similar Genie Remote purchased at The Home Depot. The range is short and I cannot get it to work reliably while clipped to the visor. As a result, it is rattling around in a cup holder and needs to be picked up and aimed at the garage to work. In addition, the poor tactile feedback is leading to many stops and starts when it does work because I cannot tell when the button has engaged. It still works, so 2 stars instead of 1, but I would look into a different remote for a Genie replacement if possible.

Range is awesome, been using it for a while and the battery last long. buttons are too damn hard! sometimes you really got to press it, like really push the darn thing!
