GENIE G3T-R 3-Button Remote with Intellicode Security Technology Controls Up To 3 Garage Door Openers, 1 Pack, Original Version

This model is extremely difficult to program with a Genie Garage Door Opener prior to 2011. I purchased this as an additional opener for a Genie opener purchased in 2009. The directions are not clear about how to program it and after calling the company I learned that the program button on the opener that needs to be activated is under the light cover. To access the program button, I needed to use a ladder to get to the top of the opener, remove two screws and then the light cover. Then everything needs to be replaced after programming. The program button is not easy to access for something that should be readily accessible. When asked what opener model to purchase that did not require the use of a ladder and disassembling the light cover, I was told that they do not make one. My question for Genie and other manufacturers of garage door openers, is why are openers that are programmed into newer vehicles easy to program (even with older model garage door openers), but to purchase an additional opener does not incorporate the same technology. I gave this product two stars because of the difficulty in programming. For me having to do all of these steps was a major safety issue and I did not have someone to assist me in this task.

We ordered two of these remotes to replace the old/missing/broken remotes to our Genie IS550/A opener. The instructions worked perfectly! It was very easy to clear the old remotes from the openers memory and to program the two new remotes into it. Couldnt be happier! (Note: on the Genie IS550/A, the programming button youll need to push is under the plastic light cover. Four screws hold it in place, and then youre in business.)

Easy to program, purchased to add remotes to additional vehicles so we didn’t have to keep a “traveling” remote. Programmed really easily and works as expected.

These replace my damaged garage opener. Easy to use and to program. Takes batteries. No issues.

This is the answer! We first ordered a universal because it was a few bucks cheaper but boy did we spend more unnecessary time trying to pair it with our garage door. Gave up and sent it back and got this one and in SECONDS it was paired and working. It’s true when they say “you get what you pay for”. Don’t waste your time on universal ones. Save your time and gas from having to take the return back.

I got tired of those Tombstone visor mounts, they dont fit on a key chain. And, now days you cant leave them hanging on your visor, punks will break in and then loot your garage. These programmed up just fine and have a good range. My wife likes the size, they fit in her purse easier.

It was perfect same as the original. Install was down right easy the instructions were in the box and if you can read basic English you can understand. Quick review push a button on your garage door opener and then your new remote Voilà done!
