For around $170 the monitor is decent. The bezels are fairly small which makes the screen look more modern. It comes with both a DP cord and HDMI cord. It’s not great for gaming since it’s only 60hz and only 1080p which is kind of low for a 27 in monitor but it makes sense for the price. There is slight edge light bleed when viewing dark images, not sure if it’s only a problem with my specific item. Comes with built in speakers which is not terrible but not great either, definitely not for high quality music listening. It’s alright for casual users.

I pulled this out of the box and set it up. I found the packaging to be cheaply done. Also the basic setup and layout was not good. The connections are on the bottom and not the back and after getting the base on I had to find a flat place to lay it down to see where my connections were. THEN, I could find the power switch. Turns our there is a round button on the back that LOOKed like power but is actually the settings button. I did not feel the button on the bottom right where I expected it to be. It was there but I missed it. So, in short I spent 15 minutes getting angry that it wouldnt turn on. The instructions are a joke (as is expected these days). But there was not a word of English anywhere. And the graphic / image instructions say nothing about the power button or the brighness, contrast (settings) button on the back. Well, its on now and look good. But the ramp up which should have been an easy 5 minutes was much longer.

I now have a setup with 2 of these monitors after buying one and finding the picture good for what I wanted. Lets just say this: a static picture on these monitors is good. There are some artifacts and ghosting of fast moving images, which is expected from low price monitors. The black levels are good, could be better. I had to enable full range in the display drivers to get deeper blacks. The sound is surprisingly good for speakers placed in the back. No, it is not as good as front speakers, if you have a curtain behind the monitor the sound will get a bit muffled. If it had some holes in the front for mid/high frequencies it could have been 5 stars. I might end up attaching an old sound bar with some double tape. One thing I hate about the sound is the lack of controls. Yes you can adjust from the system/keyboard, but having buttons/knobs you can adjust on the monitor is pretty basic. You have to go into menu to adjust volume, even when customizing shortcuts it is 2 button presses before you can change volume. The brightness of the screen is very even. There is some bleeding of light on the edges with dark screens but its not too bad. One very good feature is the stand. It can be adjusted in all directions. This should basic on all monitors, but for some reason many manufacturers believe old books should still be put to use. Overall not a bad choice with a limited budget. You may also consider looking into 1440 resolutions at this screen size if your eyes are good - but for most this will be just fine.

The monitor looks a little thicker than I had imagined, but it feels solid. I liked that it came with the cover for the vesa mount bracket on the back of the monitor. Im not mounting it, so it covers the screw holes nicely. I had no intention on using the speakers in this since most monitor speakers are terrible. I was pleasantly surprised when I tested it out. They actually sound great for meetings, I can hear everyone perfectly through it. The display itself had a nice slim bezel. Its vertically adjustable which is nice for those of us who are using them as a second monitor with a laptop. For what Im using it for Im happy with it, especially given the price point. (~$135 when I bought it).

The HP M27ha has a great picture. its frame/bezel is excellent, its sound quality is good and it had the makings of a great mid-price monitor. Its deficiencies are in its inability to retain settings. The sound setting has to constantly be reset upon sleep mode as the monitor does not retain this setting in its memory. it retains a lot but not something in inherently frustrating as resetting a sound setting. It could have been 5 stars but this knocked it down to 3. But thats HP quality, has great looks but lets you down by crumbling into the sea.

It arrived on time in good working order. Setup was very easy. This monitor is fairly lightweight. I came with 3 different cables: VGA, HDMI and DisplayPort (and also a 3.5mm stereo audio cable) so it should work with any computer made in the last 20 years. The image is sharp, clear, colors are very good. The menu buttons on the lower bottom of the bezel are pretty small, so it takes a bit of practice to adjust the settings. No software CD or download link for drivers was supplied. Windows 10 found it immediately and the monitor was set to the correct resolution automatically. There are hints that this monitor supports audio over HDMI, but that is not apparently a feature for use with computers, perhaps it works as a regular TV when connected to a streaming device or cable/satellite box, I dont know. It has worked flawlessly for about a month, so Im confident it is going to last a long time.

The picture is fine but who on earth thought that putting speakers on the back of a monitor was a good idea? The sound is barely audible and I am having no luck finding a way to connect external speakers. Soon I will have to have my windows open and it will be impossible to hear anything at all. And of course if you have a job, HP support is nearly impossible to contact. I regret buying this monitor. UPDATE: No more HP for me. barely 90 days since I ordered it and its dead the picture will not stay on. I left it off overnight and it woke up nicely but the second I moved it, back to black. This is a disgrace to HP and, since it is next to impossible to reach HPs customer service, theres nothing to be done. Good way to rip off customers, HP and amazon.

This is a decent, reasonably priced desktop PC monitor. I only give it 4 stars because I personally prefer a much smaller monitor. I really like that is has speakers built in. My PC was a refurbished one that did not cooperate with separate plug-in speakers and I did try several models of stand alone speakers. I finally have sound! The only caveat is that Vudu movies are still almost impossible to hear through these speakers. Again, a personal preference. Vudu movies seem to be no longer compatible with any device. I can hear YouTube videos with no trouble. Further, I really like that the stand doesnt take up much room and I can store my Funko Pop figures, lotions, and dog treats under the monitor.

I am not a heavy monitor user. In fact, I have two home computers and this monitor failed at ten months with light use, on average less than half an hour per day. The backlights went out with the exception of one group at the bottom of the screen. I have a warranty replacement coming but only after over an hour of wasteful troubleshooting with an offshore agent over logmein. And the warranty isnt fun- you have to wait for a shipping box, then you send it back and go WITHOUT A MONITOR until they determine what you sent really is broken and decide if they will send you a replacement. Not impressed. I wouldnt buy this again. Update: Mindy Pollard posted an earlier review with pictures; they show the identical problem to what I experienced. The replacement monitor finally arrived- I went two weeks without a monitor thanks to this issue. I dont perceive this model to be reliable, which is disappointing. I used HP monitors at work for years with zero issues.

The HP M27ha FHD Monitor is an affordable option for those looking for a great work from home setup. The optimized screen offers crisp pictures on a full HD display with ultra-wide viewing angles. You can stare at the 27-inch monitor all day since HP Low Blue Light software filters blue light without leaving the yellow tint. The comfortability continues as you adjust your computer monitor’s height or pivot to your liking and use the VESA mounting compatibility to find the right position in your home office. You will finally achieve your multimedia setup as you enjoy convenient audio built into the display and utilize HDMI, DisplayPort™, and VGA ports.
