You get what you pay for with this. I don’t leave reviews often, but was not happy with this product. The metal ring around the handle falls off. It doesn’t seem to be glued of fastened by anything other than friction. The punch tips don’t fit easily and don’t screw down. They also get tightly clogged after a couple punches. I’d return it but it’s not worth the effort.

I have another screw punch which I have owned for over 30 years which I misplaced. So I ordered this to replace my other one. This one was cheap and broke the first time I used it.

This is a nice little tool for applications where the regular belt hole punch pliers dont reach. Some lubrication to ease the press spindle operation and it works fine. A nail helps to remove the waste that tends to get stuck in the tip.

Cheap options give you cheap results. This tool could hardly carve out the holes I needed without needing a recleaning every punch after. I shouldve just invested into a more quality tool.

The one major problem with this item was that the piece that goes into the punch would not stay in, and kept falling out. There is no way to tighten it to keep it from falling out when trying to use the punch. I dont know if I bought a dud, or if they are all like this, but I was not happy at all with this purchase, and I should have returned it. I couldnt remember who I bought it from otherwise I would have returned it.

I have not used one of these before. AND the instructions were in Chinese - ha! I figured it out tho, but when I push down, it doesnt move. I have to screw it first to get it to move, and by the time it did a few holes I had a very sore hand and wrist. I will probably return it. NOT RECOMMENDED. By the way, it is not a Japanese hole punch, it is made in China. Buyer beware.

I believe that the manufacturer did not bother to test the screw punch prior to packaging. There are metal burrs which prevent the screw punch from punching down. Also, the drill bits are not sharp and they dont cut through paper all the way. Thus, leaving behind a hanging chad, a fragment of paper left over when you punch a hole

This is truly a cheap product. I have another Japanese punch that I like a lot, amd Ive used it for years. (I got it at Blick.) This one simply does not cut when pushed down, and the metal ferrule that goes around the wood handle slipped off the first time I used it. As far as I can tell, it was never truly attched to the handle. Truly substandard. And why does Amazon want me to rate its sheerness? This is a question on almost all the review forms, and it makes no sense.

I have been looking for a tool to punch holes in very hard to reach areas. This was recommended and I am very pleased with how easy it is to use. Does a really good job.
