> 24 hourIronic. Ive been driving around for over a year with my (Chinese Made) 2.5 gallon safety can in the trunk of my Honda Ridgeline with no issues at all. Bought this upgrade to a 5 gallon can made in the USA to take on a long road trip up north as insurance against gasoline shortages. I intentionally left this 5 gallon can slightly under-filled in the Hondas trunk. That being said, it vented gasoline fumes! We had to remove all of the contents of the trunk to avoid the reeking of gasoline. Remember, the 2.5 gallon can that was made in China never filled the trunk with gasoline fumes. Im certain I received a defective can and will be looking for a replacement/refund. In the meantime, the 2.5 gallon can is safely back in the trunk.

> 24 hourI have a lot of things with small engines, and as anyone knows who has been filling small fuel tanks for as long as I have, gas cans have gotten just awful due to EPA regulations. I have tried various plastic safety cans over the years and not matter what the design, frankly, they all fail. Its impossible to pour from them without spilling and you end up with gas all over everything. The plastic safety mechanisms bend (and eventually break). Plus, they pour at incredibly slow rates, so you end up having to hold a heavy gas can at an awkward angle for way longer than you should have to. Ive been reluctant to spend 80.00 plus on a gas can, but I finally got fed up and bit the bullet and bought a five gallon model. Ill never go back. This thing rocks! Easy to fill. Easy to dispense. Gas only goes where you want it to. And the flow is much faster than any of the cheapo plastic cans. Plus, its all metal so I dont see myself replacing it for long time. Im going to dump my remaining plastic cans and buy a couple more sizes of this one. They should be the last cans Ill ever need.

> 24 hourThese cans are great, a little pricey but they are a lot better then the plastic cans that are being sold now a days. They have all the features that are needed around my house. No more messing with those stupid safety valves on the plastic nozzles.

> 24 hourI wanted to get a smaller 2 gal model to use with my pre-mix 2-stroke equipment. I have owned a couple of 5 gal models for over a decade now and although they have gotten many scratches and dents over that time, they still function rock solid. The 2 gal model has a small diameter spout which will be perfect for the smaller fuel tanks on my 2-stroke equipment. These things are build SOLID and are well worth the price. In the long run cheaper than having to replace those junky plastic containers every couple of years.

> 24 hourThis is the nicest gasoline can on the market, bar none. You might not like the price, but considering how many plastic spouts Ive broken off in cold weather, I expect this can to pay for itself. Dont worry about pouring speed, the 5/8 tube is more than adequate.

> 24 hourOk these are not cheap! Not cheap plastic, not cheap CARB plastic never works gimmick. They are well built won’t swell in the heat, then collapse when it cools. Won’t explode or melt if in a fire it will vent! Galvanized steel, spark arrestor, extremely easy to control filling equipment, it really is great have old new gas and diesel. Slowly replacing all my plastic fuel cans. Only improvement I glue a piece of split rubber or plastic tubing around the bottom seam to protect the paint and less sliding in the back of a truck. Would recommend! Yellow one new just received improved design pores better. Red one is older design from Feb 08 each can is stamped with month and year of manufacture.

> 24 hourI was so excited to get this gas can because I was tired of having plastic gas cans that would crack over time. I figured this would be the last gas can I would ever need to buy. I took good care of it and never left it out in the rain. And yet, I went out today to use it and all 5 gallons of gas have leaked out of it. I’m assuming the weld failed on the bottom. So incredibly disappointing. I have put a request in to Justrite to see if they will replace it. Not holding my breath, but who knows. I guess some people have good luck with these and some don’t. They have quality control issues it appears. Hopefully they will stand by their product. Update: I reached out to the manufacturer and they were extremely prompt at replying with an offer to send me a new can free of charge. So I am updating my review to four stars from one. I discovered that the leak was a manufacturing defect on the bottom. There are four spots where the metal got pinched. One of them developed a leak. I added a photo. Definitely reach out to the manufacturer (via their contact us link on their website) if you have an issue. Update: They sent me my new can within a few days and the bottom appears to have been redesigned to make it better. I feel confident recommending this can now. It’s worth the money.

> 24 hourI was a little disappointed when my brand new gas can with 5 gallons of fuel in it was leaking gas due to the outside ambient temp. It was in the back of my truck for about 3 hours at about 75F - not in direct sun. When I grabbed the can to fill the dirt bikes, I was surprised to smell the gas and see a steady stream of gas (coming from the filling hole) that was running down the bed. Since then, I only put about 4.5 gallons and viola...no spillage even in the heat. Also, the lever to release fuel for dispensing rubs against the solid handle and gets stuck every time. So, I have to release the dispensing lever a few seconds before I reach the desired volume. Its not really safe or convenient. Not exactly what I was expecting for the price of this can. I contacted Amazon, and they are sending me a new unit. Ill be sure to update this review when I get to test the new can. Im hopeful that my can was simply defective. Thank you Amazon for being so easy to work with on this issue. NEW CAN UPDATE: Well, the same applies to the fluid volume. This should be re-labeled as a 4.5 gallon cannister. The good news is that the new unit doesnt have a faulty lever like the previous cannister. All things considered, this is still the best gas can Ive ever owned and would recommend you to purchase it. Its a 4 star at this point because I cant speak to its durability. Ill update this review in a few years.

> 24 hourSturdy can. Handy shut off valve. 1 nozzle is too big for automotive use, buy the smaller nozzle for cars. THEY DONT TAKE RETURNS. I will now have to pay extra for the smaller nozzle or just not use it to fill cars.
