The one thing I DONT want from a gas can is a leak... so I ordered this Safety Can from Amazon. The flex hose attachment arrived defective and I contacted JUSTRITE customer service. A nice lady wanted pictures of the defect, which I eventually provided after several tries at sizing a JPEG that would transmit. She said they would send a replacement. That was three weeks ago. Still waiting. Sent a follow-up email. Still waiting. As for the defect... if you are interested: The can arrived with the flex hose (spout) unattached (I think, to simplify packaging). Okay with me... so far. The separate flex hose package contained a cork gasket and two screws. Should be a simple matter to turn two screws and secure spout to can. The flex hose has a spiral spring attached at the base (I think, to relieve strain at the attaching point- not a bad idea.) BUT... the spring seems to be an after-thought... an add-on... and it is attached to the flex hose flange with a rivet that occupies one of the screw holes. Its a through-rivet and accommodates the use of the screw, but shortens the reach of the threads... AND... the rivet itself lifts one side of the hose flange slightly from the face of the flange on the can. This lift necessitates using more torque on that screw and, I think, crushes the cork seal on that side in order to affect a seal. My years of aviation and watercraft maintenance work and my training and experience as a Safety Officer makes me leery. The flange faces should go flat-on-flat with a good gasket between. But... okay... Ill try. I think-- They must have tested this design. BUT... then I notice that the flex hose flange, which SHOULD be flat, is slightly curved or bent. Now I see that Im going to try to attach a bent flange with a designed-in lift to a flat flange on the can. Thats where I balked at trying and asked for a replacement... three weeks ago. The can sits idle in the meantime. So I just ordered and paid for a replacement flex hose from Amazon. Now this can cost me an extra twenty bucks, but at least I may get to use it. Ill reserve final judgment... until after I get a hose attached and pour some fuel. Meantime... two stars for the JUSTRITE.product (the can LOOKS like it will serve... and two stars for JUSTRITE customer service (they did respond... just didnt follow through in a timely manner. But they were nice.) (ALSO KNOW THIS--- Amazon will not accept this product return... even unused. That bit of info should be displayed in bold type. But it is displayed... so fair enough.)

I was so tired of junk, gimmicky, plastic fuel cans. With these cans, you lift up the can, squeeze the handle, and gas comes out. Let go of the handle, gas stops, and you set the can down. Simple. A little on the costly side but worth it knowing Im not spilling gas down the side of my lawn equipment and onto my driveway. I do believe these cans will outlast our need for fossil fuels.

Works perfectly, buy very expensive. I really needed a can where I could precisely control the gas flow, so I bit the bullet. But why in the heck is it so expensive? Id buy again because I really needed the control, but I would not recommend it for your average Joe.

The spout worked nicely (good flow control, no spillage). Then 1 1/2 years later four pinhole leaks appeared at creases on the bottom. Started losing gas at about 1/2 gal per day. After seeing the leaks I realized how thin and flimsy the metal was on the bottom. Back to cheap plastic gas cans for me.

This can is sooo much better than the cheapo plastic cans with the safety spouts that break or cannot be used. It doesnt loose a drop of fuel if tipped over, and it is very easy to fill small fuel tanks without over filling or sloppy pouring. Additionally, it is a whole lot better than the high-quality safety cans that have plastic funnels clamped on. Those funnels make the safety can very difficult to refill, and they just dont work to refill a horizontal fill-neck on a car. Like all decent safety cans, gas stays fresh longer in a tightly sealed can. This can solves all those problems. Price is kinda high, but they are worth it if you use your fuel can on a daily basis. EDIT: End of November, 2021. Can is still working great with no leaks yet, despite a partial crush by my employees. There are no signs of the flexible nozzle wearing out yet, either.

No more funnels and no more spills it’s a one-handed delivery system which is much safer and trying to hold the funnel and The can at the same time.

However, Can arrived from Amazon in a box and plastic bag with the steel hose and screws but without the gasket that is a must. A call to the manufacture was successful, but too more than 12 days to arrive meaning I could not use the can for almost a month after I purchased it.
