I will keep this short. 100% satisfaction. Very sturdy, well made. Good construction. The pour mechanism is superior. It allows steady fast flow and must have a vacuum breaker when you pour, unlike the plastic cans that slow down as you pour unless you let the vacuum relax by turning the can up. Do not forget to buy the 5/8 inch diameter model if you want to fill a standard (not diesel) gas tank in your car. I really wish I did not waste money on two different plastic 5-gallon cans at the local big box hardware store. They leak, vent gas too easy, are hard to fill and pour, and start to crack along the knit-line plastic weld seams. These metal cans are made in the USA and are worth every penny. Do not be cheap, pay more and get these. I also bought a small can for my lawn mower. I feel much better having these from both the safety in storage and the ease of filling and using them. They also have flash suppressors which is a very big safety plus. Thank you to the manufacturer for making a quality product in the USA and for Amazon for delivering them via Prime.

It’s easy to shut off the flow of fuel while you’re filling up your equipment

Its a nice gas can. Would I buy it again? Probably not. Just looking at it you can tell its designed and built well but $60 for a gas can is steep. When you release the handle that stops the flow, the gas in the hose still comes out so it makes you feel like it doesnt stop immediately. If your topping off a dirt bike you need to be careful or youll still get gas all over. I think I had my expectations too high after reading all the great reviews, which left me underwhelmed. Its just a gas can. Oh, one more thing... the filler cap is spring loaded. I wish it had a lock out to hold it open while filling.

The can looks awesome and feels awesome but Im a little disappointed it has a big dent in it. Not sure how this even happened because the box was pristine Ill update the review after I get to actually use it **UPDATE** Ok so after using this for a while now the can is awesome. I wish all my cans were this quality. That being said, my biggest complaint is that the squeeze handle which opens the flow is to sloppy / loose and it doesnt open it up to its full extent. I have put some washers in there to help but I wish I could see another can to see if this is just the design or if there was something a little messed up with mine

The bottom oil canned and cracked after about a year of use. The can is warranted for 10 years and Justrite made good after I contacted them with a replacement with a redesigned bottom. I would not hesitate to buy this can again.

Amazingly perfect gas cans. I cant say enough. They are super easy to fill and pour without spilling a drop. Very tough and rugged construction as well. Ive used these to fill my car and a generator several times and have not yet had any accidents. The pour spout is flexible enough to work on just about anything. And it wont pour when you tip the can you have to also pull the silver metal handle. The flap over the fill hole has a very strong spring and seal so no spillage occurs. There is even a metal mesh inside the filling hole to help guide the gas nozzle and stay put while filling. I would buy more if I did not have concerns about storing too much gasoline at my house.

Excellent, safe, and easy to use. If you are going to travel with bulk gasoline in your vehicle and dont want to become a Molotov cocktail during an accident, then get a safety can. I used the plastic cans for years in my yard for mowers, weed eaters, and such without much thought as to how dangerous they really are. Just transporting them in the back of my pickup to the filling station and back was not terribly risky, but we were planning on an extended trip pulling a travel trailer through the desert and I wanted a safety net in case gas was hard to find. This can gives me peace of mind that it will be safe in an accident, doesnt have any odor or fume smell...at all, and will provide the extra cushion in between stations if needed. Even closed up under the bed cover of my truck it has no gas fume odor and will not spill even on its side. Very recommended if you travel as we do, or if you have to carry fuel around with you all day for gardening or other jobs.

Have purchased 3 of these in different sizes. We have one label for 2 cycle for blower and one for lawn mower and one for camper generators. They are perfect sturdy and do not leak. They do however take some grip strength to open to purchase gasoline. That part is a little awkward but considering the safety and sturdiness of these units that little awkwardness of getting the nozzle in is well worth the cost of these industrial units. You will not have to buy another one for years - except to departmentalize your fuels. BTW there is a large blank space to label your can for your specific needs.

Its probably the EPA that makes this can bad and not the manufacturer. The ball bearing to release gas does not have enough movement so gas flows around the edge of the tube instead of along the bottom side as you would expect. This makes it difficult to see how full the tank youre pouring into is - likely making you spill gas at least your first time. And any tiny touch with a metal like a round edge wrench - removed the yellow paint. Very soft paint coating. Imo. How do you fill it? I imagine you put the standard gas pump nossle right in the top cap. But what if youre filling with gas from another container? I have to hold or wedge the spring top open and then pour? Annoying. I personally wouldve liked to see: Stainless steel instead of galvanized. Along with more movement on the ball seal so gas can flow at the bottom of the tube. Im ok with using it now, but I would not recommend it. Theres got to be something better. Will continue searching for a decent can. The new EPA regulations make me spill more gas per week than I have in all of 10 years with the old gas can designs. Im seriously convinced the EPA was looking for the best way to pollute the environment with the new design. Perhaps it was just good intentions and poor execution as is typical of government.
