> 3 dayFinally, a REAL gas can! I slaved for years with those ventless plastic cans with those ridiculous safety spouts you have to pull back on to get the fuel to flow. And, they vent through the spout so youre assured to spill gas all over you and the mower, ground.... And they are supposed to be better for the environment? Heres a thought for ya BIG GOV. Im retired with a nice pension, so I can afford to just unscrew the spout from those pieces of sh*t, and spill gasoline ALL OVER THE PLACE! Ill just buy more gas... Take that EPA. That said, the Justrite solves ALL these problems. I filled it at the station (didnt spill a drop), it didnt make the inside of my Jeep smell like fuel, and it pours perfectly., No spills at all. It vents through a device in the handle (or so it sounds) and empties quickly. The flexible gooseneck spout is great. I see there are some with a built-in yellow funnel, but the goose neck is the way to go. I will be buying several more of these.... CG

Greater than one weekReview of Justrite Type II 2 gallon gas can. Up until now, Ive been using a generic red plastic gas can to store gasoline for my snow blower. When that container developed a seam split (fortunately at the top of the container), I decided to replace it with something more substantial and safer. Researching what is available, it seems that this Justrite Type II gas can is what I needed. The 2 gallon size works out perfectly for me. This is a substantial gas can with heavy gauge steel walls. The AccuFlow lever makes it easy to control the flow of gas when filling the snow blower. A very heavy duty spring holds the cover shut on the fill opening (where you put the gas into the can), so it will require some muscle to hold this cover open while you put the gas pump nozzle into the opening to fill up the can. Im not sure my wife could open it. There is a nice spark arrester inside this fill opening. Bottom line: this is a very well-made and safe gas can that should last a long time. Its worth the steep price.

> 3 dayI had several plastic fuel cans sitting on shelves in my garage. My wife was concerned about possible fire hazard. So I got rid of those plastic fuel containers and in their place bought two 5 gal Diesel cans and a 2.5 Gal can for gas used in my power washer. Justrite makes Level 1 and Level II Safety fuels cans. These can DO NOT allow any leakage regardless if its accidentally tipped over, nor will it allow any fumes to escape. The cap is spring loaded that is really strong and has super seal gaskets, the nozzle is deigned to allow any remaining liquid to flow back into the can when finished and once you release the flow handle, a valve shuts off preventing any leakage, fumes or spilling. The cans are constructed with Galvanized Steel.

> 3 dayHowever, Can arrived from Amazon in a box and plastic bag with the steel hose and screws but without the gasket that is a must. A call to the manufacture was successful, but too more than 12 days to arrive meaning I could not use the can for almost a month after I purchased it.

Greater than one weekI was so excited to get this gas can because I was tired of having plastic gas cans that would crack over time. I figured this would be the last gas can I would ever need to buy. I took good care of it and never left it out in the rain. And yet, I went out today to use it and all 5 gallons of gas have leaked out of it. I’m assuming the weld failed on the bottom. So incredibly disappointing. I have put a request in to Justrite to see if they will replace it. Not holding my breath, but who knows. I guess some people have good luck with these and some don’t. They have quality control issues it appears. Hopefully they will stand by their product. Update: I reached out to the manufacturer and they were extremely prompt at replying with an offer to send me a new can free of charge. So I am updating my review to four stars from one. I discovered that the leak was a manufacturing defect on the bottom. There are four spots where the metal got pinched. One of them developed a leak. I added a photo. Definitely reach out to the manufacturer (via their contact us link on their website) if you have an issue. Update: They sent me my new can within a few days and the bottom appears to have been redesigned to make it better. I feel confident recommending this can now. It’s worth the money.

> 3 dayThe plastic ones used to be ok, but once they added all of the “safety” features, the containers were almost impossible to dispense fuel from. They’d always break, and pieces would end up in my gas tank, or I’d spill it all over, because the spout wouldn’t seat right. These work as good as the old school metal gas cans! They still have some safety features, but they don’t interfere with the dispensing of fuel! These are well made, and will definitely outlast the new plastic ones!

> 3 dayLoved this can however, after about a year it began to leak from a seal at the bottom of can. Can had always been stored inside near left outside. To expensive to only be able to use for one year :-(

> 3 dayI am a big fan of these gas cans and have two already. Added the green to the collection to make the gas and oil mix easy to identify. A pricey gas can no doubt but hands down better than any plastic contraption that you get from the big box stores. Doesnt leak and dispenses with ease. Great for filling lawn equipment, ATV, and any other tools requiring gas. Works particularly well on small mouth tanks like weed whackers without dumping gas everywhere. Once you have one youll never go back to the plastic garbage that either doesnt dispense or gets gas everywhere.

> 3 dayI bought 2 of these Justrite 5 gal. gasoline cans a few months ago. They do not leak (so far) and seem very sturdy. I like that my gas storage has been improved by these cans because I store up up to 25 gallons in my home garage. I was able to fill them easily and quickly at my local Costco. I gave them 4 stars because I have had to learn to gauge them carefully to keep from overfilling my equipment due to the residual gasoline in the spout after I close the flow. But once you know what to do, you just have to keep a close eye on the fill.

> 3 dayThis is my first USA-made JustRite gasoline can. The non-ethanol fuel that I use for My mower, generator, snow blower is many miles from my home, so I needed a better sealing can than my plastic numbers. Can’t have excessive fumes or a slosh spill inside my truck. This JustRite can is the ticket. The can shipped to me in its JustRite box, no outer box, but can was pristine, no dents. The spout is installed with two Phillips head screws and a cork gasket, all provided. This can has a ten year warranty. This can is type 2, two openings, and seals well at each. I tested it with water first, no leaks when standing or pouring. I’m surprised that it pours so smoothly, no glub glub like most plastic numbers. I adore the directional spout and the under one inch size to use for my implements and my truck. I like that this can easily empties completely, unlike some plastic cans that need to be tipped nearly upside down to get the last few ounces. I paid twice as much as I did for any plastic can I ever bought, but after the frustrations of leaking, stripped threads on spouts, etc., I would only buy this gas can going forward. Winner.
