> 3 dayI have a pool and a fire pit area and needed some really decent speakers to go with 3 15 outdoor subwoofers. I was able to setup and compare side by side the Klipsch 650 / Polk Atrium 6 / Kicker KB6000. The Klipsch and Polk were far far better than the Kicker. I tried the Kicker just because of the high reviews and lower price - and seeing how I need 10 speakers - price matters. But the Kickers just didnt kick it. The Klipsch compared to the Polks.... I blind tested my friends and the sound was pretty close - dead even to a few of them. But anyone into audio at all would always give the edge to the Klipsch. I ended up buying Klipsch for the speakers close to sitting areas and the Polks for distance over the pools - solely because the price of the Polks were way cheaper. If they were priced the same or within $50 - I would have purchased all 650s.

> 3 daySpend the money for these speakers. They are worth every penny. If you power them with a good amp you will be amazed at the sound quality. Im using an old Adcom GF 555 which is considered to be one of the cleanest amps ever made. I cant say enough about the speakers. Add a sub with these and youre at a concert.

> 3 dayGreat speakers that were easy to install!! The sound quality is great with a well balanced sound that gets better when placed in an area that allows the sound to expand. Mine are installed under a patio using a small Bluetooth amp that drives 200 watts per channel. I am very happy with my purchase!

> 3 dayJust hooked these up inside in place of my Heresys to test them out. Driven by my Yamaha Aevantage AVR, they sound great and they are LARGE - bass response is exceptional for an outdoor speaker and their high efficiency delivers noticeably better highs and mids compared to other outdoor speakers I have owned. Eventually these will be connected to zone 2 on the same Yamaha AVR under the back porch. These speakers are the next best thing to moving my Heresys outside.

> 3 dayI looked at the Polk Audio as I had purchased a set and wanted another set for outside. I got a popup saying the Klipsch was cheaper and since I have plenty of Klipsch indoor speakers I thought I couldnt go wrong. The speakers are bit larger and heavier than the Polks. Make sure you can securely hang them. As with all Klipsch speakers the horn tweeters are just fantastic! Cut thru and can be heard for a long ways away. If you are looking for thump in your bass then I suggest the Polk Audio as they have a boomier bottom end but you just cant beat the clarity of the Klipsch. Glad I made the purchase and would recomend to anyone looking to mount speakers outside or on a wall inside.

> 3 dayLarge outdoor speakers with good sound and reasonable bass. Mounting bolts protruding from ends are brittle brass and will break off if not careful during installation.

> 3 dayThese are definitely some of the very best speakers I have ever owned. I also have a set of Klipsch surround sound speakers for my home theater. I am a customer for life. This set I have installed in my Man Cave with a Klipsch sub-woofer and the sound is awesome I do not believe I could have made a better decision for my uses.

> 3 dayPurchased these almost a year ago and finally got around to installing them this weekend. After many years of good performance, I replaced 4 NHT outdoor speakers with 4 of the Klipsch AW-650’s and I’m extremely impressed with the vast improvement in sound - superior sensitivity, sparkling highs and nice tight bass. They’re running off two Rockville RPA9 amplifiers, each bridged at 800 RMS watts driving two AW-650’s per channel. Back yard is about two acres and they can clearly be heard at the edge of the property. Between each of the AW-650’s and the amps, I put a 300 watt OSD impedance matching transformer, wired in parallel (combined left and right inputs and outputs on each OSD, since each amp powers one left and one right channel) which roughly doubles the power handling of each transformer. The C-bracket is easy to detach and then mount it in the location for the speakers. It’s possible for one person to place the speakers in the C-bracket after mounting, but could be easier. Note to Klipsch product manager: It would be significantly easier if the C-bracket was stiffer so the top threaded stud would project out of the top of the bracket and not sag which requires lifting up on the bottom of the speaker so the top nut/latch can be screwed in place). In any case, the sound is spectacular and I’m glad I finally got around to installing these. You won’t be disappointed with a purchase of the AW-650s.
