These are excellent smart outlets. Each unit has 2 outlets and 2 buttons. Each button is used for manual on and off. If you hold down both buttons for a few seconds you will go into pairing mode. That is it for the physical side of things. So easy, and fool proof. The software side follows the same suit. You download Smart Life. Sign up. Put you smart outlet into pairing mode, then sign into your wifi. It took me about 20 seconds for each unit. I renamed each outlet and set timers. This is as frill free as it gets, but that just makes it more simplistic and fluid. The app is fast with absolutely no issues. I was pleasantly surprised as this is rarely the case. Great, affordable smart outlets, that work super well.

I like that these plugs double my usable outlets and they work with Alexa. Once set up, these KMC Smart Plug Duo, 2-Outlet Wi-Fi Smart Plugs work independently of each other! That is great. I can turn off one outlet and the other outlet is independent and stays on. I was also able to name a group to my plug to work together if I want. Set up is not difficult, it took me about 30 minutes the first time to download the app and set up. I just took my time. The second plug set up went by in about 10 minutes. I spent more time trying to name the outlets, for ease of use. If you can set up Alexa you can easily add these outlets. See my pictures.

Caveat: I already owned at least one remote plug in this same family, so I already had the appropriate app to recognize the smart plug and that made the steps quite easy. I dont recall finding or registering for the app to be onerous, however, so that doesnt play into my review at all. This plug is very solid and is replacing a Belkin plug that just stopped working after 2 years. I chose this because I really did want two independent plugs and was happy to replace my single plug. This is shifted off to the side, so despite having two plugs, it doesnt block more than one outlet and has a much smaller profile than the plug that it is replacing. It has two naming options: both the plug as a whole and the two outlets on the plug. Thats really convenient if, for example, you want to turn off a light but not a fan, etc. Other than that, it does pretty much exactly what you would expect. The most complicated parts of installation. my helpful hints if you are having trouble: 1) The plug does not match any image of the plugs in the accompanying app. (The instructions that come with the plug do tell you what to choose as an option, however, and that worked fine.) 2) Trying to get the appropriate lights blinking was a little bit of a guessing game. The installation directions tell you to hold the reset button -- but there is no power or reset button that is obvious. There are two carat/arrow buttons (one on top and one on the bottom). I assumed that they pointed to the plugs that they control (and they probably do in some contexts) but they ALSO serve as the reset (TOP arrow button) and blue light (BOTTOM arrow button) controls. 3) If you hold down the top arrow button, it serves as the reset and will eventually cause the red light flash that you need. You can then press the bottom arrow button to get the blue light to accompany it and to pair the plug appropriately. Once it was paired, it was super easy -- my Alexa app recognized it straight off and I added it to a group which is also using it with no errors or issues. However, I give it four stars because of the guesswork involved in getting that original flashing down.

Does not obstruct the other outlet. Highly recommended

Good dual smart plug. Works with the Smart Life app and the sockets can be controlled individually. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that the two physical buttons are on the front and get covered by whatever power adapters you insert. You cant get to them unless you plug out the power adapters. Its not a biggie, but still its annoying. Recommended.

Easy to sync with Alexa. Two buttons you can push (blue light) to turn on/off your connected appliances/electronics… Great value.

Lo he colocado para controlar el encendido de unas luminarias interiores y una TV y fue fácil configurar e instalar.

The KMC Smart app is creepy. It absolutely demands Location on your phone to be On / Always or it won’t proceed with device setup. There’s no reason for that; this isn’t a thermostat. I suddenly didn’t trust it. I decided to switch my phone to our guest network, turn on Location, activate the device on the guest network, then turned off Location and switch my phone back to the private network. The device works and can be controlled with the app, but I’m going to get rid of both and replace them with a Z-Wave outlet controlled by SmartThings. I had tried this as a smaller, cheaper WiFi alternative to Z-Wave, but it’s not compatible with the SmartThings app and as mentioned doesn’t seem like a trustworthy app from a privacy perspective.

What I like: Straightforward setup to a common iOS application used for smart devices. Arrows and lights point to the outlet of interest. App allows for independent or synchronized operation. What could be better: Written instructions could have been more clearly written to indicate how to place the unit into pairing / configuration mode. This is a great time to be a Smart Home techno geek. Vendors seem to be falling all over themselves to create increasingly versatile and reliable gadgets. This unit fits that description nicely. You may independently control each outlet, using the hardware pushbutton switch, an iOS app, or in my case, using Alexa. Fun and convenient. My only pause is the units first-use state was not in pairing mode. I was able to figure out how to initiate the pairing function, so no big deal. Just wish the vendor did a better job in describing this first step. I already had the iOS app installed and it was easy enough to associate this device to my home and get started. The device feels of sufficient quality and heft to imply a solid build. No complaints with design or function. Five stars.
