This device functions well, but does not suit my application. The basic problems are physical. I want to control two LED aquarium lights that are powered with wall warts. The first issue is that there isnt enough space between the sockets for them both to be plugged in. The second issue is that the power block pushes the devices switches and turns them on an off.

Alexa, turn the Christmas trees off! Its THAT easy. 1. Install the KMC app and sync the plugs (took me maybe 2 minutes max?) 2. Open the alexa app and associate the plugs (under the outlet/plug section, go figure!) 3. command those lights! These have the added feature of TWO plugs per outlet, each of which has a physical on/off toggle on the switch for individual work. In my experience, Alexa just commands the unit as a whole, but the KMC app lets you run each outlet. Easy, cheap, works!

The KMC Smart app is creepy. It absolutely demands Location on your phone to be On / Always or it won’t proceed with device setup. There’s no reason for that; this isn’t a thermostat. I suddenly didn’t trust it. I decided to switch my phone to our guest network, turn on Location, activate the device on the guest network, then turned off Location and switch my phone back to the private network. The device works and can be controlled with the app, but I’m going to get rid of both and replace them with a Z-Wave outlet controlled by SmartThings. I had tried this as a smaller, cheaper WiFi alternative to Z-Wave, but it’s not compatible with the SmartThings app and as mentioned doesn’t seem like a trustworthy app from a privacy perspective.

There is a reason this has such great reviews, it works great! I had the Smart Life app, and it automatically recognized these, once they were in pairing mode. Once paired, my Alexa app popped up and added them. The name can be changed on either Alexa or Smart Life. Alexa recognizes these as a group and as individual, allowing to power on two at once, or individually (I use one for nightstands). The bonus on these, they are small enough not to block the other socket, as pictured. These are awesome!

I have to reset the outlets minimally once per day. Completely defeats the purpose of having them. They constantly go offline. When they work, they are great. But that is few and far between! Highly recommend…avoiding…

Work fine, Alexa discovered them and operates them no problem. I put 1500W radiant heaters on them with no issues.

Im not sure why the bad reviews about the app or the set up process but I was able to connect and set up with no issues. Timer feature is working perfectly!

I moved into a place that had vaulted ceilings and no installed lights in the room. So I had to buy multiple lamps and lights to place around the room to light it which was more difficult because of the high ceilings. I bought this plug and a few single ones of the same brand and was able to install them fairly easily and connect them all to my app. I even have them connected to my Google assistant hub in my room. So I leave the lights in the on position and just say hey Google turn off lights and all the switches will turn off which is very convenient considering they are all on different outlets. Something to note is that certain types of lights (my example is fairy lights that have the remote with 8 different settings) will not work the same way when I say hey Google turn lights on. The outlet will turn on but unlike the other lamps I have that will turn on when I say to turn on, the fairy lights require me to manually turn on the lights each time. The turn off feature works since the outlet is switched off but I do have to manually turn the fairy lights back on with the remote or the manual button on the lights themselves. Because of this, I chose not to use these outlets for that reason but for every other use I have them for, I enjoy them.

Easy to get up and working through the app. Does work great with app. I can not get Alexa to recognize it.

The switches were very quick and easy to setup after downloading the Smart Life app. The hardest part was reading where in the directions to find how to enter pairing mode, considering the directions are written really small and come in two separate booklets. But once I figured that i just had to hold one of the buttons, it paired very quickly in my app, which was a relief considering how many problems Ive had pairing smart devices in the past (bulbs, blinds, switches). I was able to sync it up to Alexa very quickly as well but after that, I found out that I couldnt toggle off the left or right switches separately through Alexa. It only had the option to turn both on or off. While in the Smart Life app, you can do this though. Its just an issue for certain situations, for example: a light and a speaker in one adapter, and you wanted to turn off the lights with an Alexa voice command but still keep the music on while youre sleeping. Overall, Im happy after I reorganized commands and plugs to fit my needs. It was very helpful to have these for an area where I had multiple devices I wanted to link to smart switches but only one wall outlet.
