After one week: this monitor is very good. I am using the DisplayPort and the G-Sync works automatically with my GTX 1650S. The audio out works good if you prefer to plug in there instead of the PC. One feature I thought I would probably never use but I found a good use for is this monitors ability to swivel 90 degrees on its stand - play pinball! Its perfect for that. Based upon one days usage: Its a really nice monitor in all aspects and so Im very happy with the purchase. Great color, G-Sync works, everything gets detected and optimum settings applied in Windows and Steam games. I like the stand design also - that is one area a monitor excels over a TV. I have mostly Samsung TVs but chose an LG for my new monitor partly based on a lot of specs and reviews and price/quality ratio and such. Also, I wanted to try an LG since my in-laws have an older large LG TV that is like 15 years old or something but is 120hz and it has held up to this day with a fabulous picture and quality looking case and stand. I think this LG 2783A-B monitor is going to prove the same. If you want G-Sync compatibility, 144hz and 1440p then this is one of the best options and most cost effective options at this time I think. This monitor has no speakers but it does have an audio out port. Of course this model number is an Amazon special edition. It shows up in Windows 10 settings as a 27GL850. I had been using a Samsung 22 inch 1080p TV for my monitor and it was pretty nice and had very good speakers. Well, after having my i7 PC for 3 years I decided it was time for a refresh: NVME drive, Lancool 2 Case, LED Fan kit, 650W PSU, MSI GTX 1650 Super Gaming X, Xbox Windows 10 Wireless Adapter and this LG 2783A-B monitor. As you can imagine this all really woke up that i7 and its a completely different experience now - obviously in a positive direction. More on this monitor... The 27 inch size is really nice compared with a 22 inch one. Looking at this LG 2783A-B 1440p at a distance of 1.5 to 2 feet looks the same to me as looking at my Samsung 40 inch 4K TV from 3.5 to 4 feet away. That is very good BTW. Are you used to watching 1080p and 4K LCD TVs? Then you will be very satisfied with deep blacks and vibrant colors on this and not notice any light bleed effects - it will look as good as a nice 4K TV at a bit larger size and much better than a 1080p I can tell you that. I use my PC for CAD for 3D printing, Photoshop and gaming mostly. To me this monitor is an optimum size, resolution and picture quality for those things sitting at a desk. I tried my 40 inch 4K TV for a while and it looked as good as this monitor but was just too much screen area at such a close distance. I like this 27 better. This monitor has some pretty nice metallic red accents but unfortunately they are all toward the back so you wont actually see much of them.

This monitor absolutely does not play well with Windows 11. Deep Sleep Mode cannot be disabled and it takes several seconds to wake from sleep, Windows sometimes takes longer to respond. Worse is that when waking from deep sleep mode windows will randomly not maximize fully and a 1/2 of the desktop above the taskbar is cut off. This has something to do with windows scaling as changing the DPI back and forth resets to normal or turning the monitor off and on also resets it. However I believe this problem would not come up if there was an option to turn off deep sleep. And that there is no USB port means the monitor cannot be updated, not that LG would at this point, as they havent with the 850 model. Im not sure how these issues are not discussed in all of the glowing reviews on numerous tech sites as it is pretty well known that deep sleep in general is an issue with these monitors. And that has been fixed with the latest LG 4K model.

Ive been looking for a good gaming monitor for a long time. I wanted something with 144 HZ, Nvidia GSync, HDR, and a 27 Display. This was the best one I could that met my budget, and I was not disappointed. The monitor has beautiful colors, extremely low input delay, and has been extremely reliable for me for many months now. I highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a good gaming monitor for a price that cant be beat.

I bought this monitor for both remote work and gaming about six months ago and its been a significant upgrade from my old Dell U2711, which is now my second monitor. The feature set is good for the price and Ive recommended this monitor to others who are looking for an upgrade for their gaming rig. Pros: - Good picture with low ghosting at high refresh frame rates, when driven from an NVIDIA card in G-SYNC Compatible mode at 144Hz over DisplayPort. The monitor has a setting to control the response time vs. ringing tradeoff, and also shows in the OSD the current frame rates being received from the video card. - Supports HDR video input. - Control panel is fast and responds immediately to joystick controls, unlike some other monitors Ive used that have annoying delays in the menu controls. This includes fast input switching, which I do a lot from having two computers hooked to it. - Runs cool, can barely feel any heat emitted. - No problems taking off the default stand and mounting on a standard VESA monitor arm. Cons: - Some backlight bleed in the lower-left corner, though Ive gotten used to it. From what Ive heard, this can vary significantly from unit to unit. - Really poor sound quality, which sounds like loud bursts of noise when listening to music. Its noticeably worse than any other audio output I have, including the U2711, laptop headphone jack, or USB-C dock, driving it over DisplayPort or HDMI, and with either an NVIDIA or Intel graphics card output. Couldnt figure it out until I played a sine wave sweep in Audacity and heard blatant aliasing around 6KHz. Do not get this monitor if you care about quality from the audio output. - HDR over HDMI from a GTX 1650 Super on Windows 10 was distorted (compressed), though DisplayPort input was fine. Its also not very good at HDR in general, but its useful if you just need to be able to test or experiment with HDR and dont care much about HDR image quality. Additional gotchas: - It has a lot of picture settings that are poorly documented with not necessarily good defaults and can produce a bad quality image. For instance, theres no indication of what Gamma 1 through 4 correspond to. Before gauging the picture quality, reset the Black Stabilizer to 50, double-check against some calibration images, and try the sRGB preset. Fixing this really improved the picture quality. - The monitor can take a 4K (3840x2160) signal and advertises that it can do so over HDMI, even though the panel is only 2560x1440. This can cause Windows to send it a 4K signal even though the resolution is set to 2560x1440, resulting in a blurry image. It can take some fiddling with Windows display and graphics drivers settings to fix this (active signal resolution = 2560x1440 in Settings).

I got this monitor primarily for having a good bang for you buck option geared towards photo editing, video editing, and gaming and it delivers on all of these options. Pros: Smooth 144 hz refresh rate- This is a first for me and being exposed to a high refresh rate monitor, especially for gaming, changes your perspective on what you see and how responsive everything is. If you are an avid gamer then having a higher refresh rate of 120 to even 240 hz is a must! For the average consumer, this isnt really all that noticable. Beautiful, near bezeless design- For me, Im not used to a very sleek design that doesnt use minimal bezels. It makes the display look modern and expensive. 2k Display!- The bump from 1080p to 2k is short but yet is a big change. Everything is just a little more detailed and sharpened. This is great especially for photo editing to get into the fine details. Fairly color accurate- Im not someone who is looking to get an exact 100% sRGB for editing but for the price, its a great option! They even have a sRGB monitor setting to give you the most accurate colors the monitor can deliver. I believe the monitor has 99% sRGB but please dont take my word for it! For non creatives, this wont mean much to you. Slight Antiglare- Since the display is an IPS panel, there is a little bit of anti glare built in. Its not much but compared to a standard LCD panel it makes working in the daylight with the curtains open manageable. Cons: Most of the problems come from how lucky you are at getting a decent stand and display. For me, my stand and display only show minimal downsides. The Stand- I personally dont mind the stand at all. It feels girthy and stable but there are a lot of other consumers who have stated otherwise. The minor complaints of mine about the stand are the base where it balances itself and the color accents. The base used to balance itself is fairly large and takes up a good amount of space. If you have a smaller desk then look out for this! And the color accents used for the monitor only come in red which for me isnt a big deal but for someone who uses a specific color scheme for their setups might want to look else where The Backlight Bleed- Since this display is an IPS display, there is always bound to be atleast some bleeding but with mine, it isnt too bad. It shows up on the left corner a little bit and the bottom left corner which can be noticable when the screen is all black. This did bother me when I first got it but after only using it for roughly 3 days, Ive gotten used to it. If youre not a fan of backlight bleed and it annoys you then please stay away from this display for your own sanity! Conclusion: A brilliant display that can be used with nearly all gamers and creatives. It has a little bit everything you need that serves as the in between of being low quality and cheap and high quality but expensive. Easily one of the most bang for your buck monitors on the market!

This monitor serves my purpose just as I need. 144hz IPS 1440p. However, the first thing I did after setting it up was running the online ghosting test. After less than 5 minutes, I was left with burn marks from the white dots for the pursuit camera (the white dots in the black bars between the UFOs). I contacted support, performed a hard reset, and everything was back to normal. Trust me when I say it passed the test, though. There is a small amount of blur, 2millimeters at its worst, but these are the limits of IPS panels (especially budget IPS panels). It is likely the ghosting test just doesnt play nice with certain monitors due to its nature, but for a burn in to occur within 5 minutes of using the monitor is alarming, to say the least. Therefore: TURN ON YOUR SLEEP MODE I will be keeping this monitor, should I have no more issues. I will update this review if there is any more burn in and if it is permanent or not, and how it was caused. Update: It has been almost a year, and this monitor still performs beautifully. No dead pixels, no increase in blur.

So I was able to get this on sale for 246$. It is definitley cheap for a 1440P monitor but heres why- The viewing angles and backlight bleed are horrible. Colors out of the box werent great either. I thought to myself its LG it will be good. The monitor itself feels cheap like cheap plastic. It says its IPS but it looks like a Tn Panel. So heres the good- 1440P 144hz Gsync compatible 27 inch. Response time is decent no complaints here. What you need to ask yourself? Do I want a cheap 1440p monitor or spend another 100$ for a quality budget monitor.

Its been about 2 weeks short of year since I bought this monitor, I just purchased another one so i can finally retire my 15yo 1920x1200 monitor. I really love this monitor, i play a lot of different video games and I also use mapping and remote imaging software, its been great for both. I have 0 problems to report besides that for best results youll probably want to re-calibrate it. Besides the amazing quality and color another thing i love is the controls, the joystick in the bottom of the screen and the menu are easy to use and understand, and its very easy to turn on and off. The aesthetic look of it is amazing, although most of the flashiness is in the back and I am likely the only person who will ever see it. The stand works very well, is fully adjustable and can be installed in a few seconds and you dont need any tools or screws, i used it for a bit but then switched to a different visa desk mount, but it wasnt because i didnt like the included stand, it seemed to support the weight of the monitor very nicely. The only thing I would add is to be very careful handling it, i suspect that many of the reports of problems with the screen is a result of improper handling, or the occasional DOA. I kept the box for when i move, and follow the instructions on how to handle it and have had nothing but love for this monitor.

The screen had backlight bleeding on arrival. Its very distracting and a bit disappointing.

I wasn’t expecting such a good monitor for the price point. The packaging is very secure and well done, LG definitely takes care of their products. I plugged this in and try a couple games on my Xbox series s (Apex Legends and MLB The Show 21) both look AMAZING in 1440p. The brightness is insane, I actually had to turn it down to 75 otherwise it hurt my eyes. Colors are extremely vivid and I haven’t experience any ghosting or screen tearing whatsoever from 60fps up to 120. The presets for certain games are actually really good, the FPS one works very well on Apex. If you need TOTAL accurate colors you could customize it yourself, but I find out of the box settings to be very accurate. As far as backlight bleed goes you can notice it on an all black loading screen but only if ure looking for it, as far as regular gaming goes you’ll never even notice it’s there. The only difference between this monitor and the GL850 is that this one doesn’t have the two USB ports on the back. If you don’t need those then save yourself some money and buy this one, it’s literally the exact same thing. The stand is beautiful, a little bulky for some people if ure desk isn’t deep enough but it works for me. It’s so easy to raise up and down, however they did that they did it well. The controls are so easy. It’s one joystick like button on the bottom of the monitor which is genius in my opinion. Overall this monitor is amazing and I would recommend to anyone needing to upgrade. I spent 2 months looking at monitors and reading reviews and I’m happy to say this is the best one for your money. You could spent $450 plus and get one that works the same as this, MAYBE better. Glad I snatched it when it was on sale. Hope this helps anyone on deciding, and you won’t be disappointed if you choose to pick this one up.

Immerse yourself in your favorite games with this fast IPS monitor featuring a 1ms (GtG) response time, wide viewing angles, and high color accuracy with sRGB 99%.
