02-12-2024This is a great monitory with really good color and display. But can someone please help me explain why my monitor would be stuck at 100 Hz and not 144 when I went to the NVDIA coolntrol panel. For some reasons it only gives me the options of 60 hz and 100hz. Not 144. Could someone please give me a solution? that would mean a lot.

> 3 dayExcellent monitor! Just upgraded from an LG 1080p 60hz IPS panel to this one and the difference is clear. Images/text on screen is much sharper and I can tell movement with the mouse cursor on the desktop is much smoother. I set the display scale to 125%, which now matches with my older 1080p monitor at 100%, otherwise text and desktop apps are just too small for my taste. You can really get an idea of smoothness during gaming. I play games where high FPS is preferred. Currently playing Halo Infinite on older hardware (GTX 1660 ti) but enough that I get about 70-72fps on medium graphics settings. Even with that, and response time set to fast I can already tell the difference in smoothness of gameplay compared to my old monitor. And I should mention the obvious jump in visual clarity is instantly noticeable! Just be sure your graphics card AND CPU can handle 1440p and produce high framerates especially for graphically intensive games. I noticed that in-between games my web browsing has slowed substantially due to CPU bottleneck while using this monitor (again just a limitation caused by older hardware). The joystick style menu control and layout is simple and easy to operate. This monitor even comes with an HDMI cable AND a DisplayPort 1.4 cable! Got mine for $280 and at this price point you really cant go wrong with this monitor.

> 3 dayWent for a 1080p monitor to this and was blown away by the difference. I haven’t found one flaw with this yet. The only thing I didn’t like but it’s not a flaw is the stand color is red. I wish there were different options for that but it doesn’t matter. Can’t wait to get another one of these for a second monitor set up.

> 3 dayI desperately needed to upgrade my old monitor, so I went for this one after reading about it in an article. Its the size of small TV which took some getting used to, but I have grown to really like it - just make sure to adjust your display settings if youre coming from a smaller monitor to this one. The picture is clear - you can really see the detail in what youre doing. I havent tried to speaker option on it and dont plan to, so I cant comment on the quality there. Turning it on and off is a bit of a hassle as it has a little joystick underneath it versus a physical button. My biggest problem is that I can see more of the backlight on the right side of the screen when your picture is dark. The other thing to note is that it slowed down my last PC when I got it too. I was in the process of upgrading to a much fancier and better gaming PC so that was a temporary issue, but if youre using a basic, cheaper PC, you may run into problems.

> 3 dayI own other LG products...tv, fridge, etc. My first LG gaming monitor. For the price and so far for the reliability you cant go wrong. Playing COD it does what its supposed to do.

> 3 dayOnce calibrated delivers an outstanding color range. Big change from 1080 TN. Suffers from some backlight bleed in the bottom left but not distracting. No swivel. I do wish the monitor could drop a little lower. Contrast isnt the best but this is to be expected with an ips panel. Not a big difference between the rest of the options at this price point. My only gripe with the monitor isnt specific to this one but most LG monitors; deep sleep. Unless you set in windows for your monitors to never sleep, the LG will go into a deep sleep feature and appear disconnected, consequently switching your main monitor and moving your desktop icons. If you have multiple monitors be sure to turn off the LG last when youre done and turn it on first when you begin again. Otherwise, love this monitor. No dealbreakers here and not upgrading for a long time

> 3 dayIts a good monitor ignoring its HDR spec but my main issue is that its just SO DANG BRIGHT even at the lowest setting to the point where I always leave it on the lowest brightness and it still singes my eyes. I wish LG would release firmware for it that let it get dimmer without sacrificing color accuracy but I know they wont do it for a low tier product like this. If you really hate bright screens and usually leave your phone on low or very low brightness then look into some other stuff because late night gaming with this will sing your eyes and make sure to keep you awake.

> 3 dayIts been about 2 weeks short of year since I bought this monitor, I just purchased another one so i can finally retire my 15yo 1920x1200 monitor. I really love this monitor, i play a lot of different video games and I also use mapping and remote imaging software, its been great for both. I have 0 problems to report besides that for best results youll probably want to re-calibrate it. Besides the amazing quality and color another thing i love is the controls, the joystick in the bottom of the screen and the menu are easy to use and understand, and its very easy to turn on and off. The aesthetic look of it is amazing, although most of the flashiness is in the back and I am likely the only person who will ever see it. The stand works very well, is fully adjustable and can be installed in a few seconds and you dont need any tools or screws, i used it for a bit but then switched to a different visa desk mount, but it wasnt because i didnt like the included stand, it seemed to support the weight of the monitor very nicely. The only thing I would add is to be very careful handling it, i suspect that many of the reports of problems with the screen is a result of improper handling, or the occasional DOA. I kept the box for when i move, and follow the instructions on how to handle it and have had nothing but love for this monitor.

> 3 dayThis is a very impressive monitor in terms of color, IPS panel, response times. 2k is a good resolution. Even if games start running better at 4k someday, you could downsample and get a nice picture. For the times though, 2K is a good sweet spot for high fps, for sure. The 27 inch size is great, but be aware the stand underneath is long and wide so it takes a lot of desk space. With two monitors it can be hard to get even a second smaller one in there comfortably on a smaller desk, for sure. Still I eventually managed to squeeze in a layout. Overall I consider this an awesome monitor, considerably more reliable than the $200 range VA panel one I had that accidentally broke, and this replaced it. That old monitor had flickering issues with freesync, this one works great out of the box, and has less color banding. I also like the HDR effect mode on pc gaming. I didnt try it right away thinking it would be a weak gimmick, but it actually looks pretty good. Mind you compared to a TV that supports HDR well, this is not the same thing, just a nice way to boost your image quality. HDR effect also doesnt offer much settings control as they become locked for many things, but response time, color, and image look great in it. The biggest real con with it is the price. It is a lot in my opinion. However, if you are extremely careful not to drop it or hit the screen with anything then I suspect it could last a really long time, like most monitors. So considering the features are great, I think a lot of people that use PC all the time can justify getting this. One other small con with it is the Onscreen Control app (download it from their website) that lets you set things up instead of using the monitors joystick is very barebones. I was disappointed the super handy on screen countdown timer feature and hot keys to change settings features from the budget $200 monitor arent here. On the other hand this monitor is much easier to get stunning visuals out of the box than a cheap budget panel and you hardly need to go into settings, but the lack of bells and whistles in settings other than the major important features was something I noted. Overall, Im highly pleased with this monitor so far. Might revisit this review over time if its standing up well over time or is not.
