> 3 dayOverall: Great Purchase, would buy again Pros: +Both my first 144Hz and 1440p monitor, and can I just say, WOW. What a difference that refresh rate makes! I mostly play first person shooter games, and the difference really is night and day. +The bump in resolution isnt as noticeable to me, but I never was one to care much past 1080p. The image does indeed feel somewhat sharper however, and the added pixel count does have the effect of feeling like theres more room on screen in any use case. +Colors also are excellent, very vibrant and pop off the screen, at least to my eyes. +Coming from a 60hz 1080p display, the biggest differences were in the refresh rate and the SIZE. My previous monitor was only 21.5 inches, and the extra 5.5 on this model feels massive. +The stand feels solid enough, adjusts relatively easy, and leaves plenty of room on my desk with its wide, thin footprint. +All in all, a superior gaming experience from a 60hz display. Games like DOOM and Counter Strike feel buttery smooth, and are massively more immersive on such a larger display. +Bundle this monitor with a great GPU like an RTX 3070 as I have, and you are in for an excellent gaming experience. +Excellent quality control with my unit, not a single dead pixel and minimal backlight bleed in one corner. +Gsync works well with no problems or issues, and screen tearing is nonexistent. Cons: -The only con that I would be able to name would be the backlight bleed. This is an incredibly common problem to IPS type displays such as this, and is largely unavoidable and will be present to some extent, but on my unit the problem is minimized to the bottom left corner of the display and is only really noticeable on screens where deep blacks are presented. A mostly nonissue with my use, and the intended use of this display, gaming. I would however recommend a different monitor if your use would be video editing, or video streaming.

> 3 dayPros: -144hz -Minimal backlight bleed -OSD easy to use -Comes with display port cable and HDMI cable -extremely easy to setup -stock calibration is decent, only had to modify a few settings. Cons: The stand sits too high at lowest adjustment, so I had to modify my desk to clear. Highest point is roughly 18 3/4 to clear. My calibration on Game 1 Preset: Brightness - 25 Contrast - 70 Sharpness - Default 50 Gamma - mode 2 Color temp - Custom - R58/G49/B48 Adaptive sync - On Black Stabilizer - Default 50 Response time - Fast Aspect ratio - Full Wide Energy Saving - Off Standby - Off All settings at aspect ratio and below optional, I opted to turn the energy stuff off. I Absolutely love this monitor. I first was gonna get the 850 but its been running low on stock for a while now, settled with this variant instead. Just setup today and played a bit of Rainbow six at 144hz and it was perfect. This is the sRGB version of the 27GL850, it also registers on my computer as the 27GL850. If youre stressed for cash and wanna save a bit of money, this one will do fine. Colors look great without the wide range color gamut, and from reading it should mainly be applicable to HDR gaming/photo editing anyways, which the 850 doesnt do a great job at as is. I dont plan on using HDR either. All in all this thing came perfect with no bad pixels, and the backlight looks good. This monitor should have a slightly higher contrast ratio than the 850 (1000:1 while the 850 is around 800:1). I highly recommend this as a viable cheaper option to the 850. If purchasing this with limited vertical space look for a gas shock vesa mount to lower it further or modify your desk for 18 3/4 of vertical clearance. The only difference according to specs is the nano ips panel on the 850, which seems like it has more to do with the color range.

> 3 dayI have been playing games for a long time now and was ready to invest in a better monitor since I need it for school but this on checked all my boxes on what I wanted. I liked that for the price I got it at which was cheaper than MSRP even though I would buy it at MSRP any day of the week, It was treated as a higher tier product when it comes to online reviews. The box that it came in was very well built and had so much foam protecting the screen it was hard to take out. I got the 144hz IPS 27inch model and like I said above I love this screen. There hasnt been any major problems with it which when I look at the other monitors I see online Im happy. The only thing that I didnt like was that the power cable wasnt a standard power cable that most monitors use. It wasnt that I didnt mind but with my power set up the plug took up 2 slots so it made it hard to power everything else in my setup. I have seen also on many review channels that there are monitors that are cheaper and better and I dont see it. If I had to recommend a monitor it would be this one. Have the 2k resolution was nice since I got a new GPU and was able to use the power of it to play games in stunning detail compared to my old 60hz 1080p monitor.

Greater than one weekDisclaimer for fair context here: This is my first true 144hz, 1440p, IPS panel experience. Up until now, Ive only ever had descriptions and seen photos (on less than ideal monitors) of what to expect. So my review here may almost certainly be biased in terms of extremes for both pros and cons. With that out of the way, let me just say.. wow, being my first experience with an IPS, I was absolutely blown away with just how much the colors explode off the screen compared to a TN panel. You get used to it very quickly but you definitely have those moments where youre just like Damn, that looks really good. The exact same can be said about the refresh rate. If youre coming from 60hz, the difference is absolutely staggering. Its noticeable the moment you slide the cursor across the screen. Itll give you goosebumps at first. And again, its something youll get used to very quickly but will repeatedly be reminded of how smooth any and all motion appears at the most seemingly benign places. Especially with Windows 10 and its very quick but subtle flow to almost any menu and interaction. Simply opening up the start menu or action center will just appear to glide in as though it was never on the screen but just floating above it. And finally the jump from 1080p to 1440p was much nicer than I had anticipated. My mind knew it was a half way mark between 1080 and 4K but my expectations were more inline with something more subtle. Nope. Youre getting a massive upgrade in pixels here. The best thing about 1440p is that it truly is a half way sweet spot between 1080p performance and 4K sharpness when talking about gaming. The amount of extra power needed isnt insignificant, you will notice a loss in performance, however if youre rocking an RTX 2070 or equivalent GPU, its safe to say that while you might not always get the best out of its 144hz refresh rate, youll almost certainly exceed the 60hz youre probably accustomed to and it really does make a huge difference. 60fps just doesnt feel like a good performance anymore. It feels like what 30fps felt like on a 60hz monitor. Of course its also worth mentioning a few buts now. The G-Sync on this thing is incredible. I can finally turn off vsync and not get those incredibly distracting screen tears which Im unlucky enough to be very sensitive to. However its worth noting that this is NOT a G-Sync monitor. It does not have the proper hardware to support G-Sync at its best. Its G-Sync compatible. Which is to say, it was built for FreeSync but after Nvidias driver update opened G-Sync to FreeSync monitors, this monitor was able to pass the certification process and be sold as being compatible with G-Sync with no real issues. The problem with this might seem nuance but its worth mentioning. G-Sync will NOT work at framerates lower than 40fps. Once you drop below that, youll start noticing screen tearing as the monitor doesnt have the hardware to stay in sync with the GPU at lower refresh rates. Not a deal breaker but just something to keep in mind. If youre still rocking older hardware, you might be lowering settings to accommodate the higher resolution at G-Sync speeds or resorting to turning vsync back on. Finally theres the IPS glow. Its there. Its absolutely there. Its both not as bad and worse than I expected but its well within tolerance as I quickly get sucked into what Im doing and stop noticing it. Unlike backlight bleed, IPS glow shifts around the screen based on your relative position and angle. Its easy to adjust the monitor in such a way that its a minimal issue but due to the size of the display, its impossible to sit at any position or angle and not see some IPS glow somewhere. Usually in the top corners as tilting the monitor up seems to offer the least about of glow. How much this bothers you its going to heavily depend on what kind of content youll be playing. Darker colors show IPS glow much more than brighter scenes. So brighter games like Spyro will hide it almost entirely, but darker games like Control can be real hit or miss and if youre not used to it yet, probably annoying. But its a small price to pay for the kind of color you get over TN monitors.

> 3 dayIve been looking for a good gaming monitor for a long time. I wanted something with 144 HZ, Nvidia GSync, HDR, and a 27 Display. This was the best one I could that met my budget, and I was not disappointed. The monitor has beautiful colors, extremely low input delay, and has been extremely reliable for me for many months now. I highly recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a good gaming monitor for a price that cant be beat.

> 3 dayIf this is your first fast refresh monitor, you will love ti. However, if you are very nit picky about gaming monitors, then this one will just be ok. However, I usually buy business class monitors for work (development), and I loved this monitor. It looked great, this stand was great allowing me to pivot to landscape, etc. I did end up returning the monitor, but not cause I did not like it. I got it on sale for a great price, and I could not find a second one close to that price, I run dual monitor setups. I would have love to keep it, as I would not have to buy a VESA mount. I ended up getting a couple Gigabyte monitor, with slight different specs but look the same. Anyway, this LG made me started to game a lot more just to see it in action. Trust me, thats the best compliment, as I rarely game, and just work non stop. Get it, you will like it.
