Logitech G300s Optical Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse – 9 Programmable Buttons, Onboard Memory

Going along with the many positive reviews about the G300ss advantages, Ill agree it is a good buy for a bit over $20. It functions as it should and seems to be built well. Id forgotten I had this mouse until recently when I discovered it in a junk box of computer stuff. What--looks unused and its a Logitech . . . ? So I hooked it up and pretty soon I remembered why I tossed it in storage. The left and right sides of the G300s mirror each other, so there are twin buttons on either top front corner; this means that my middle finger rests not only on the right click button but also against one of those top corner buttons. Unintended clicks occurred immediately. So I had to download and install Logitechs less-than-stellar software in order to turn off the problematic buttons. The thing is, although Im a righty, I cant imagine a lefty with similarly sized hands would be able to avoid the opposite version of this problem. Like many mouse manufacturers, Logitech is prone to sticking extra buttons anywhere as a misguided marketing ploy. In conclusion: ambidextrous, great; button layout, atrocious.

not for me, too small

Sorry to say this. My wife loves it but I cannot use it. It is really small and light mouse and driving me crazy. I used it for about month. I was so mad as it was so small. The functionality is ok and it works great but it is for small hands, maybe kid or women.

I was skeptical of the buttons at first, but because I have so many troubles trying to press buttons on the SIDE of a mouse, I figured Id try this. Its a little tricky to get the hang off but after a while Ive been doing just fine. Definitely an improvement in my in game performance. The mouse itself is NOT weighted (like Im used to) which I cant say I really like, however its tolerable. Ive dropped this thing from couch to floor about six different times (it keeps sliding off my mouse pad next to me) and it still works with no issues. Theres no beating an optical mouse when it comes to gaming. The design of this mouse is odd to me but not unpleasant. Its very comfortable for my hands. The cord is extremely long however, and since Im using a laptop this was an annoyance. I rolled some of it up and tied it together with a twisty tie and problem solved. The only thing (besides weight) I would prefer with this mouse is that the software for it be included in the package. Its not. I have to find it online and download it and with my internet thats a bit of a task. For the price, it wouldnt kill them to include a disk or at least SOME instruction as to where to find the software. Unless I missed it, there was no booklet or anything on the box that tells you where it is. Been using it for a week or so now and its been great. Color options on the mouse are nice as well.

The mouse is relatively comfortable even in my giant hands, and as a leftie, and certainly does its job well. If I was to utilize the extra buttons on it, Id like it FAR more than the usual gaming mouses buttons, as theyre placed differently, and their location is FAR superior in that it is far less likely for me to accidentally bump them while using it. Ive had a more classically laid out gaming mouse, and could not stand where the buttons were placed because I would constantly bump them. All in all, its a good mouse, especially so if youre looking for a cheaper priced gaming mouse. Id certainly say to give it a go if youre on the hunt for a new moose. Er... louse? House... no no thats not right... AH WELL, you get the point haha

It was a great budget gaming mouse until I made the mistake of updating the macro software from 9*02*65 (2018108) to 9*04*49 (2022525). Now its only good for simple office apps. At least on my computer, macros dont properly generate mouse clicks (only keystrokes) and generating a mouse wheel roll will crash the software. Tech support isnt very helpful, and I have little hope theyll expend the resources to fix the software in a timely manner. The mouse can work on its own for basic customization, but complicated macros require the Logitech Gaming Software which is being replaced by G Hub. Unfortunately G Hub doesnt support the G300s. I wouldnt buy this mouse today for gaming.

Ive been playing MMOs for a while, but have never had a mouse I really liked that had programmable buttons. I got my boyfriend a razer naga, and while he loved it, its too huge for my small, womanly hands. I spent forever researching different mice with programmable buttons for small hands, and it was almost impossible to find any good info on them. (And some of them only had 2 or 3 extra buttons). I finally found a forum post from a woman who had tried what seemed like every mouse on the market, and a tech review that said everything about this mouse was great except it was small - and BAM, that was the selling factor for me! -Works great -Size works for small hands but is fine for large ones as well (its not tiny like a lot of wireless or laptop mouses can be, just small enough to fit comfortably. My large handed boyfriend has no problem using this mouse) -Ambidextrous -Software works great and lets you set up profiles for different games or accounts -You can change the color of the lights (I thought I didnt care about this function and thought it was stupid til I got the mouse, changed the color and went Hee hee ... burple. - Good price! A lot of mice are ridiculously expensive (im not into paying 80-150 for a mouse on sale, hoo boy), and if you get it on sale /watch the price you can even score a deal.

Ive been using this same model for over 4 years it feels great and is really durable. Would recommend it especially if you want lots of keybinds

So as a lefty most ergonomic mice fall into the extra buttons are in exactly the wrong place so my thumb hits them accidentally while using or has no extra buttons. Ive had this for a month or so now and while gaming is far from my greatest concern its fine for the games I do play, has extra buttons that are placed where they arent annoying and I can turn the LED off. I havent dived that deep into programming the buttons yet but some videos have shown this to be a fairly simple process once I do get around to it. Long story short for the $20 I paid for it well worth the coin and Im thinking about grabbing maybe one or a few more.

Been using this one now for over 2 years. Bought a 2nd for spare. Programming it was easy. Now that I think about it Ill be getting a 3rd to take with me on the road for the macro capabilities that are stored in it to travel with.
