Logitech G300s Optical Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse – 9 Programmable Buttons, Onboard Memory

I have been using this mouse for a few months now. I had to stop because I was getting wrist pain. The problem is the placement of the side buttons G4 and G6. In order to use them you have to lift and bend your fingers a lot to get to them. By default, G4 is the back button for browsing so it gets used a lot. I have since switched to the G502 and my wrist has stopped hurting. If you do buy this mouse, I strongly recommend that you only map commands to G4 and G6 that are seldom used.

Its a great gaming mouse if you dont need a scroll wheel and was really good until that failed after a few months. Very disappointing. The rest of the mouse is still going strong and seems built well enough. I expected the buttons to give out before the scroll. Ive been wearing out mice since the 80s and its usually the buttons that fail first. I cant recommend it and will replace it with a different product. Poorly executed Logitech.

Going along with the many positive reviews about the G300ss advantages, Ill agree it is a good buy for a bit over $20. It functions as it should and seems to be built well. Id forgotten I had this mouse until recently when I discovered it in a junk box of computer stuff. What--looks unused and its a Logitech . . . ? So I hooked it up and pretty soon I remembered why I tossed it in storage. The left and right sides of the G300s mirror each other, so there are twin buttons on either top front corner; this means that my middle finger rests not only on the right click button but also against one of those top corner buttons. Unintended clicks occurred immediately. So I had to download and install Logitechs less-than-stellar software in order to turn off the problematic buttons. The thing is, although Im a righty, I cant imagine a lefty with similarly sized hands would be able to avoid the opposite version of this problem. Like many mouse manufacturers, Logitech is prone to sticking extra buttons anywhere as a misguided marketing ploy. In conclusion: ambidextrous, great; button layout, atrocious.

This mouse replaced Logitech G400s mouse. Initially I did not like the shape but after a bit I got used to it. It is very good mouse if you have not large hands. For gaming and working this mouse fits the bill. And it is not super expensive. I dont really like extra buttons being on top but after you get used to them, you do not notice them really. Otherwise the mouse tracks well and has just the right weight, not too light not too heavy. I use it every day for many hours without any issues. I also like that it is both left and right handed so I can switch if needed. I will buy another one if they still make it when this one wears out. So far that has been my problem - the mice you like are not made anymore.

If this were a more durable mouse, I would say its perfect. Left-handed people (particularly those with small hands) have a hard time finding mice, and this one is fantastic due to the size and the fact that there are side buttons on each side of the left and right clicks that all work (they are not just mirrored). I have bought 4 of them now, just about 1 per year. The left-click consistently dies on me. I use this mouse for work and casual gaming. If I could find anything else that fit my hand as well I think I would switch so as not to keep spending $20 a year and adding to the problem of e-waste. But so far, this is the best Ive found.

The mouse works well but I have two disappointments. 1. The mouse was a little small for my big hands 2. I thought I would be able to assign a multiple key macro to the buttons on the mouse

This is my 2nd one bought, the first one lasted about 2-1/2 years and then buttons wore out. The wheel on this new one turns a bit rough but Im hoping to get used to it rather than return it. I hate to support Logitech because I find their immodest advertising offensive but its a reasonably priced lefty mouse with buttons on top you can hit with the index finger.

this is such a breath of fresh air for me as a small hand PC user, I usually am pretty dang uncomfortable using most gaming mice but this one feels very comfortable in my tiny hand, the only downside is that if you have multiple Logitech devices you may run into problems because of the TWO INCOMPATIBLE applications for button mapping and other settings, this one uses Logitch Gaming Software whereas my headset and keyboard use Logitch G Hub, very commonly one will crash when I open the other and it drives me insane....

First of all, this is the most ergonomically comfortable mouse Ive ever used. It feels like it was molded for my hand. Id say I have medium to large hands, but very slender; not meaty hands. I still think the mouse would feel good to meat-handed people, though. The second thing I like is the positioning of the extra buttons. Most gaming mice have buttons on the sides so you can press them with your thumb, but pressing buttons with your thumb doesnt have the same natural feel as pressing buttons with your other fingers, in my opinion. Also, Im new to PC gaming, so some of the different keys for Rainbow Six Siege (a first-person shooter) are very difficult for me to use, especially while trying to use other keys as well. For example, if I want to strafe to the right while cooking a grenade, Id have to press D (strafe right) and G (grenade). Well, D and G both require the left index finger to press. I solved this by binding G (grenade) to the top left extra mouse button. Melee (V) was also a difficult key for me to press if I wanted full control of movement, so I binded (bound?) that to the bottom left mouse button. Additionally, pressing 2 to switch to your secondary weapon was too much for me, so I bound that to the top right mouse button. Finally, pressing U for push-to-talk is absurd if I want to just give a quick message to a teammate while moving around, so I bound that to the bottom left mouse button. Its just super convenient, these four extra buttons on top of the mouse rather than on the side of the mouse. It also has plenty of versatility with the DPI settings. Highly recommended. Though keep in mind this is my first gaming mouse, so Im not familiar with how others feel when using them. I just know that if I ever need to replace this one, I will be replacing it with the exact same model.

Im a left handed gamer and as all us lefties know, there are no gaming mice made for us. The best available are ambidextrous mice. Which drives me nuts since there is no reason for an ambidextrous mouse. An ambidextrous person could use either a right or left handed mouse. An ambidextrous mouse is just a poor compromise between the two, so why not just make a real left handed mouse? I tied many and while this mouse leaves much to be desired, its probably the best that can be hoped for. At least all the buttons are accessible, if not entirely comfortable. It lacks any thumb buttons, which means all nine buttons are most easily pressed with the index and middle fingers. Some are really quite well placed and comfortable, other not so much. However, it is much faster and easier than using key binds on the keyboard, and that is whats important. Otherwise the mouse is really nice. The software installs easily and is intuitive. The LED color on the side can be changed. Its light, moves smoothy. All buttons feel solid and have a positive response. It works great for gaming as well as les intense internet surfing and word processing. In short, if we cant get everything a righty gets, at least we can get this, and at a great price.
