I have had the outdoor switch running now for a couple months with no issues. BTW, kudos to Meross for great customer support. A dimmer switch (MSS560) purchased in May, 2019 became intermittent in February 2020 and then failed to connect but still worked manually. I contacted Meross customer support with an offer to send the switch back for troubleshooting if they were interested in doing a teardown not expecting anything else. I was told that warranty was for one year and if I would email an Amazon receipt they would send a replacement. The replacement arrived and is working fine. I did not even have to send the failed switch back. I have multiple Meross Smart Switches in our house working now for over a year and this was the first and only failure.

I also have the meross garage control and indoor plugs so I already have the app. I also have WeMo and Wink products. Meross is a better bargain and the apps works better. It does not require a hub and the Alexa integration is good. the app itself is very powerful so if you do not have google assistant or alexa it will still be awesome. I have an android phone so my experience is with the android app. Setup was very easy. All you do is plug in outlet and click the + symbol in the app and it finds the plug and the wizard guides you through everything. If I had it to do all over again I would only buy Meross to save money and so I only need one app. I hope meross makes more outlets and switches and continues to offer them at such reasonable prices

Setup was a breeze and it just works - both as a timer and as an Alexa powered device. I set it up on a spare bedroom lamp and named it Lamp, which seemed logical at the time, but now when I see how easy it was too set up and how well it works, I may purchase a couple of more for other lights around the house. So, consider what you name it when you set it up.

Im reasonably impressed with the Meross products that include an outdoor switch for deck lights, garage door interface to the opener, and mini smart switches. Meross has its own App and skill that works well. I encountered problems when the deck became unresponsive, and opener instructions contained an error. It was very difficult to contact support. Id rate that one star only. I finally resolved problems with YouTube and searches.

I have the (5) Feit Electric String lights in my yard and I have them connected to an outlet via the Treatlife smart dimmer until now. However, the smart dimmer plug a low voltage issue where the lights randomly flash when they are turned off annoying the neighbors at night. Also, it was connected to HomeKit via homebridge. Then came this little piece of genius which solved all my issues and has a very wide dimming range as a bonus, if you are into HomeKit and looking for a plug in dimmer, this is it!

I was getting tired of resetting the outdoor timer for our porch lights to match shifting daylight hours especially fall and spring, not to mention every power outage (frequent for us in winter). I’ve had great success with Meross smart plugs in the past and it had good reviews on tech sites. Unfortunately you can’t really trust Amazon reviews. What can I say? I plugged it in to an easy-access indoor outlet and lamp, scanned the code with my iPhone, labeled it, and it connected to HomeKit. Moved it to the porch lights, created automation to turn on at sunset and turn off later. Now if my kids are out late, I can just override the turn off and leave the lights on until their iPhone is home. I also randomly change smart lights when we travel (we have an AppleTV and a few HomePod minis, any of which give us secure access away from home). Easy to link, easy to use, rugged… I plan to get another next Black Friday week for Christmas lights! Meross is by far the most reliable and easiest brand of smart plugs…and I don’t do a thing after power outages or time changes. Worth every penny!

The quality is as pictured - its really good. However, setup was not fun. Put it this way: I bought an amazon smart plug. I plugged it in, Alexa discovered it automatically, and I was in business. This plug requires you to install a third party app, create an account, set up your plug, and link a skill with Alexa. For me, the linking process kept erroring out on me, to the point I got frustrated, removed the third party app, and decided to return the plug. However, the next day, I reinstalled the app and power cycled my echo, and everything just worked. So...Im keeping it. Youll see THREE smart plugs in your Alexa app. One for the main device, and one for each plug (there are two). You can manipulate any of them with your Alexa/Echo. Now that its installed, Im happy with what I got - Alexa voice control for outdoor patio string lights. But it was a big pain to get it working.

I purchases 2 of these plugs to time my outdoor lights for the holidays. They worked great, allowing me to set on and off groups that worked with both units. I could have worked with each plug in the unit separately which I think is quite unique. Havent tried the Alexa integration but I see no reason it wouldnt work well there too.
