> 3 dayVery simple to set up. Each outlet has its own control. I dont really need the Alexa integration, but I mostly got it for the custom settings it has. I can turn outside lights any amount of time before sunset, and then off at a specific time. not like those one that make you choose between 2, 4, or 6 hours later. No more resetting timers for me! The Alexa integration is simple and works like a charm. If you are not using Apples Homekit, get this one. Its the same thing, but less expensive.

> 3 dayWorked great with Alexa positioned about 75 feet away through a wall. Easily integrated with Alexa, and the Meross app. Can control via phone when away from house just like other smart devices.

> 3 dayStated to be compatible with Alexa but requires a smart cell phone to program it. Obviously, I do not have a smart phone.

> 3 dayI wanted to like this device and for the first couple of weeks it worked fine. But then it disconnected from HomeKit. Viewing the support site, I learned that new firmware had been released but the update would require downloading and installing the Meross app, which in my book defeats the security inherent with being able to connect and manage devices directly from within HomeKit, circumventing 3rd party app/cloud pass-through of ones data. But since the Meross app was the only path to the firmware update that would supposedly fix the connection issues, I did so. Meross warns that updates may take up to two minutes. This update froze and after 10 or so minutes I reluctantly had to reboot the Meross app (interrupting a firmware update should always be ones very last resort). The Meross app would never again re-pair with the device for another try, despite power cycling the device, trying its hard reset sequence a number of times, and even restarting the iOS device. Opening a support ticket and filling out all the info they were seeking seemed way too invasive and time-consuming just to ask a simple question they failed to address in their FAQs. This thing is going back. I tried a Meross device previously and had a disappointing experience that time too. Fool me twice, shame on me I guess. My smart home network consists of over a hundred WiFi, Zigbee, and Zwave devices and despite the variety of manufacturers that make up that collection, none of those brands have given me as much trouble as Meross has.

> 3 dayIt does and is everything it claims to be and appears sturdy and well made. A 5th start if they figure out a better way to protect the plugs when not being used. The current solution is a rubber insert (like a child-protection plug) that is connected between the plugs. When 1 plug is in use, its fine, but when you attempt to plug in a 2nd plug, the rubber protectors make it much harder than it should be. It DOES work...but not as well as it could.

> 3 dayThis Smart Plug controller is great. It was fast and easy to set up. I put it on my 2.4 GHz guest wifi, and it connected on the first try. I have other Meross devices too. I have 2 wifi garage door controllers which also work very well. I recommend this controller.

> 3 dayThe first unit I bought didn’t work reliably with homekit, so I sent it back for a replacement. The second unit got really hot and it’s housing melted. I probably had too much plugged into it, not sure as I didn’t add up the wattages of all the Christmas lights, but it has a tag stating not to go over 400w. It should have had a reset switch that trips to prevent drawing too much power and subsequently potential fires. This melted outside when it was in the single digits Fahrenheit.

> 3 dayI bought this smart plug to control some patio lights that I have outside. I also wanted to integrate it with an Alexa device that I have set up downstairs in the kitchen. The Meross plug is located downstairs and outside from where my wi-fi router actually sits which is in my upstairs bedroom closet. I was a bit concerned because of the number of walls and the distance that the signal would have to travel in order to activate the plug. I have had issues with other smart devices in the past. Not this one though. So far, the plug has worked flawlessly and I have had no disconnects. Even when the power went out for a short time, there was nothing that I had to do to reconnect the smart plug. The integration with Alexa has also been excellent with absolutely no issues. Alexa turn off/on the patio lights is all it takes. Home automation gadgets are great provided they arent a PITA to set up or maintain. This Meross Smart Plug has been an excellent example of the way things should work otherwise just flipping the switch outside would be a lot easier and less frustrating. This device is worth a try and because it hasnt been frustrating Im considering some other devices by these folks. like their garage door opener.

> 3 dayThe product works just as advertised. However getting it hooked up and integrated with Alexa is a whole different story. The little 3.5 x 6 piece of paper they provide is nowhere near complete. I was able to get it integrated with Alexa only after a long conversation with someone who has hooked up seven of them. What they need is a video on you tube or whatever that gives you step by step instructions for use with the specific device being used with the app( in my case iPad). I would not recommend this item to any non techie, as Meross has absolutely no support system whatsoever

> 3 dayAfter connecting to the device wifi my iPhone just couldn’t connect to the dimmer. I spent one hour trying to get everything to work and it just didn’t. Very frustrating experience. Will return.
