> 3 dayI’ve had decent experience with Meross products in the past and decided to add this to the household so we could light up our terrace with some LED floods. This works like a charm! It performed admirably in a recent rain storm that lasted three days. Solid construction, easy setup. I’m a fan.

02-06-2025I bought this to control a pond pump outside. In my experience the thing that distinguishes Meross wireless switches from others is the ease and peace-of-mind of connecting it to your wireless network. First you install the Meross app on your phone (in my case an iPhone). When the switch receives power for the first time, it creates its own temporary local WiFi network whose name will be something like Meross_SW_abc123. You connect your phones wifi to this network, and the Meross app connects to the switch over that network. Then you tell the app which home network you want the switch to connect to under normal operation, and the password for that network. And then youre done. For folks like me, who want to be careful to keep their smart devices on a separate Guest network because you dont 100% trust them and dont want them to be able to talk to your home intranet, this setup lets you do that. You never have to enter in your main home network credentials. This is in contrast to some other smart switches Ive seen that are very unclear about which network they need and why. The WiFi signal is good too. My switch is plugged in outside about 100 feet from the router. According the the Meross app the signal strength is at 20%. But I havent had any problems controlling it.

> 3 daySo, I just got this, then I updated the software and added it into homekit. Then I commanded it to different levels while measuring the voltage. There are a few problems. 1. Commanding it to 0% is the same as commanding it to 1%. Which is to say, it does not turn off, and I think you should expect it too turn off in this case. The measured voltage in that case is still 30V. Thankfully, the light on the controller stays on, so its not actually misleading. 2. You cannot turn it off by pushing the button. At all. You can cycle through various power levels (which is neat) but theres no button combination that results in it being OFF. Or maybe there is and I havent found it. I havent read the directions, but I dont think I should have to read the directions in order to turn an electric power socket / controller with ONE button OFF. Okay, I just found it. You double-press the button for OFF. This is bad design.

> 3 dayI really like Meross. This is probably the 5th or 6th product that I’ve purchased from this brand. Like every other purchase, this smart outdoor outlet is easily set up in a minute or two, and integrates seamlessly with my other Meross products via the app. (no problems with the app either, yay!) I used this for my Christmas lights and blow up Olaf yard deco so I don’t have to go in and out every evening and unplug before I go to bed. Giving 4 stars out of 5 because the rubber socket cover gets in the way when you have two cords plugged in at once so I had to rip it off.

Greater than one weekI got this for outdoor Christmas lights. I used it for the season and thought that it was pretty good. The app to control the lights could be better, but it does work well with Alexa. You have to choose, though. Or at least I did. I programmed it with the app, but when I set it up to work with Alexa, it no longer worked with the app. It seems that I should be able to set it up so that I could use whatever is the most convenient for me at the time. This is the only smart plug that I have, so maybe they just havent gotten around to programming things better yet. Either way, it works; does the job that I wanted it to. I would buy this again.

> 3 dayThe first plug I received didn’t work at all and came with zero instructions. The replacement works, but when I follow the instructions it won’t pair with the merros app, but will work with apple home for about 30 minutes. After that it’ll say “No response”. The plug is literally in my kitchen not more than 20’ from the WiFi and I have very good wifi. My phone is a iPhone 13 Pro Max and it’s updated. This plug is a total waste of time and money. I’m in my 20’s, technologically advanced, and I’ve spent hours trying to figure it out. It’s very frustrating and I’m gonna go back to my old fashion timer that plugs into the wall.

> 3 dayEasy to set up. I received this today and within a half an hour I was able to have it turn on two sets of outdoor Christmas lights by talking to Alexa. The instructions with the company Meross and with Alexa were both easy to understand. And I am 80 years old and not the greatest at computers and iPhone.

> 3 dayThis handy device is just what the doctor ordered for our outdoor Christmas lights. In the past we have used a timer with a dusk sensor. The problem was when a cars headlights hit the sensor it would shut off the Christmas lights, thinking it was daytime. We also had a problem with our outdoor lights, and our spotlights, fooling the sensor. This device, being connected to the internet, knows when sunset is, so it bases its schedule on that rather than a light sensor. It has worked like a champ. Setup was fairly simple if you follow the directions carefully (I didnt at first). I havent tested Google Assistant nor Alexa functionality so I cant comment on that. Weve had it outside for several weeks and it has performed flawlessly.

> 3 dayIt took a bit to get set up. First, I believe it was an error I made. I use a VPN and spent about an hour trying to get the dinner to add to the app. After a bit I realized I had installed the dimmer after I enstalled the other Meeoss switches and outlets t use. Once I disconnected the VPN. Boom. Works like a champ. I have 3 stars to the easy to install as a single sentence turn off VPN prior to trying to connect would have saved a lot of time. Overall it is a good product at a great price. Thanks
