> 24 hourAfter buying (and liking) their HomeKit compatible garage opener, I decided to stay with the Meross brand and try out their Meross Smart Plug Minis as well (I bought the 2-pack). I liked the fact that they did not require me to install yet another hub device just to use them (unlike Belkin, Phillips, etc.) and installation and setup was very easy and quick; I had each smart plug added to HomeKit and ready to control in about a minute! The smart plug response is pretty good, and they seem to stay connected and ready to control without any hiccups (unlike some off-brand smart plugs I tried before that kept disconnecting or losing a signal). Two things of note - they do not have a function to show power consumption, and the LED light on the side of the smart plug (to show the on/off state) is very tiny. Aside from that, there is nothing at all to complain about these smart plugs. So, if youre looking for HomeKit-compatible smart plugs that just work with no hassle (easy setup, no extra hub required) the Meross Smart Plug Minis are an excellent choice!

> 24 hourAn easy to use, inexpensive way to get started with HomeKit. This little smart plug is easy to set up on iOS: Launch the Home app, click the +, choose Add Accessory and scan the barcode. Ensure the smart plug is plugged in and it should show up, ready to give it a name and icon and start turning your item on and off. I purchased the two pack to control a lamp in my office and one in my wifes sewing room. Once it is set up in the Home app, you can use Siri to control it or create Apple Shortcuts for more advance automation. I named mine Office Lamp, and I can just use my watch or phone and say turn on my office lamp, etc. You can do a lot more with automations and shortcuts. I would recommend these to someone getting into home automation. I liked these so much I ordered another 2-pack.

> 24 hourI tried over an hour to add it into HomeKit, and still failed. Finally linked it with alexa. After online search, I found it is actually due to the terrible design from Apple.

> 24 hourI have a HomePod and even bought a 2.4 router just for this and it still doesn’t work perfectly. But works well in the Meross app.

> 24 hourI have a SAMSUNG SMART THINGS mesh network. These timers require first being set up in a meros account, and then linked to SMART THINGS. They worked fine until the first time we had a power hit/outage. Ive never been able to connect them again. I can hear them click, and then default to on. I cannot add them to the network, even though they had been named and paired. I reset the timers to factory default, and reinstalled with new names. Same issue. A wasted $50. Going forward I will only buy SAMSUNG SMART THING devices.

> 24 hourI was looking for a compatible Apple HomeKit plug that I could use for my home office connectivity. I have a Work From Home router that connects back to my corporate network with wireless connectivity. I didnt want the WFH router to be available during non-working hours. I purchased a two pack of the Meross plugs and was surprised with how simple it was. I was able to add the plug through the HomeKit app without a 3rd part app download. I didnt have big challenges with the 2.4/5GHz interoperability you sometimes see with smart plugs. Many times this comes from your device being on the 5GHz and the HomeKit device not honoring because of 2.4GHz use only. Its been connected now for about 4 weeks with no issues. Ive lost power in the house once and the device came back to HomeKit when power was restored. I use automation to turn off and on the connected device during work hours.

> 24 hourI have six of these now, and every week theres one I have to go hunt down, unplug, and replug because its crashed. This is the opposite of convenience. Also, as soon as you get them, they want a software update, for which you have to go get their app to apply and make an account and all that. Bleah. On the positive side, they show up right away in HomeKit and work without the 3rd part app just fine as long as they havent crashed.
