I really like these. I ordered a 2 pack and everything was easy to connect and set up. I already had the Meross app with an account set up. The only problem I had was a routine I set up in the app would not work until I enabled location. The routine works now.

These things worked GREAT! They have been really solid, and I love the additional button on them for manual control (it essentially acts like an on/off switch so you dont HAVE to use HomeKit / Siri / Automations to use them. I can appreciate when smart home devices dont get in the way of doing things. They should only make things easier, and thats exactly what these switches do! If you really truly only need one controllable outlet, then these are a great value and truly reliable. Having said that, Meross offers a similar product for only a few dollars more that gives you two independently controllable outlets in one, and when I saw those, I bought a bunch of them.

I have several smart bulbs, but wanted to give plugs a try for other things — like holiday lights, etc … They work great. Setup via HomeKit was seamless. Solid addition to our evolving smart home.

I purchased this smart plug to automate the charging of my iPhone / iOS device. Lithium batteries are damaged over time when they charge above 80% or when their charge drops below 50%, so for optimal battery health (the ability to hold a charge), you want to keep your phone charged between 50-80%. A HomeKit smart plug and the Shortcuts app is perfect for that since the Shortcuts app can automate turning off the plug when the phone passes 80% or 50% battery level. Unfortunately, my phone could only communicate with the wifi smart plug about 70% of the time, even though the phone was sitting feet from the smart plug. This is due to the fact that our wifi network is a mix of 2.4GHz and 5GHz and wifi smart plugs seem to only use 2.4GHz. Ive since switched to a Bluetooth Homekit smart plug (Eve Energy brand) and so far it has been 100% reliable (3 weeks now, where the wifi smart plug had failures on the first day). My Eve Energy smart plug review has the steps for setting up Shortcut automations to control your iOS battery charging.

The app was useless for setup. Kept telling me that I was not connected to WiFi then led me to the WiFi on my iPhone. Under the settings in Meross app it looked like it was turned on for the network. Reset my iPhone network settings as instructed if problems continue with recognizing my wifi . Didn’t work. Reset the smart plug by holding in the power button. Still wouldn’t connect. I eventually connected both plugs directly through my HomeKit. Still cannot get the 2nd plug to show up in the Meross app. I was directed to do a firmware update on the first plug and was able to do that through the Meross app, but cannot find the plug in the app to do the update for the 2nd plug. I guess my next step will be to delete the Meross app and redos load it and try again. I am able to use both plugs and set up automations but ONLY through HomeKit.

They work great until there’s a firmware update—which is every couple months. Once a firmware update is available they stop responding until updated, which usually requires a factory reset and re-adding them to HomeKit.

Added very easy to HomeKit and works just as good as my wemo ones. No need to pay for the name when they do the same thing.

These were very difficult to connect to the app, sometimes they were detected, sometimes not. The app also didnt seem secure, it didnt mask my password and saved to my typing suggestions which was a big red flag. The app also left much to be desired.

An easy to use, inexpensive way to get started with HomeKit. This little smart plug is easy to set up on iOS: Launch the Home app, click the +, choose Add Accessory and scan the barcode. Ensure the smart plug is plugged in and it should show up, ready to give it a name and icon and start turning your item on and off. I purchased the two pack to control a lamp in my office and one in my wifes sewing room. Once it is set up in the Home app, you can use Siri to control it or create Apple Shortcuts for more advance automation. I named mine Office Lamp, and I can just use my watch or phone and say turn on my office lamp, etc. You can do a lot more with automations and shortcuts. I would recommend these to someone getting into home automation. I liked these so much I ordered another 2-pack.
