These things worked GREAT! They have been really solid, and I love the additional button on them for manual control (it essentially acts like an on/off switch so you dont HAVE to use HomeKit / Siri / Automations to use them. I can appreciate when smart home devices dont get in the way of doing things. They should only make things easier, and thats exactly what these switches do! If you really truly only need one controllable outlet, then these are a great value and truly reliable. Having said that, Meross offers a similar product for only a few dollars more that gives you two independently controllable outlets in one, and when I saw those, I bought a bunch of them.

I purchased a 2 pack in November 2021. One of the devices stopped working within the 1 year warranty period. Contacted Meross support and they replaced it right away.

I use Apple HomeKit as my hub, so the selection of supported devices is somewhat limited (although appears to be getting better). For Smart Plugs, I have been using Koogeek: -- I have used them for years -- I have about 10 of them I needed a few more Smart Plugs, and I was happy to see some relatively cheap options. After reading the reviews, I decided to try the Meross Smart Plug Mini. I am not disappointed. -- The price was pretty good at about $12 apiece. -- The plugs are well-built and straightforward. -- The form factor of the plugs is good. They do not cover up neighboring outlets. -- Installation was simple once I read the directions. A couple of tips: a) Make sure you install the Meross App and grant it permissions before you begin. (You will want to use the App to update the firmware of the devices.) b) Make sure to connect to your 2.4GHz band. c) Installation involves connecting to both the 2.4GHz band as well as a config network provided by the device. If you have multiple networks, make sure to turn off AutoJoin on all but the desired 2.4GHz band. d) You may have issues if your 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands share the same network name. I bought four of these plugs. After I figured out the above (which took me about 10-15 minutes), I was able to set up all four of my devices in about 10 minutes. They work great - and they can be grouped with my Koogeek switches as well. Very pleased so far. I will update this review if I experience any problems in the future, but at this point I would recommend these smart plugs.

Easy to set up with the Apple Home app, does not need the Meross app. I’m careful about data leaking out so I won’t allow a manufacturer app for setup or operation. But these smart plugs work just fine with Apple’s Home app for setup and Siri for commands.

I use these with Apple HomePod. Setup was easy—don’t bother with the manufacturer app, just use the Home app on your iPhone

Like other reviewers, I was extremely disappointed in this products inability to connect to HomeKit. After all, this is one of the few smart plugs to support HomeKit so youd think theyd make sure it worked. To be fair, this is the second batch of these plugs I purchased. I had no problems adding the first batch to HomeKit. Everything worked correctly. However, that was a while back and iOS has been updated and the outlets have had several firmware upgrades since then. My guess is that some incompatibility now exists that hasnt been addressed. The crazy part is, in order to upgrade the firmware, the plug first needs to be added to HomeKit! So if theres a bug in the firmware preventing the connection, then it appears there is no way to update the firmware to resolve it. A very poorly thought out design. What happens when trying to add it to HomeKit is that you first scan the code, the phone connects to the outlet, some information apparently gets updated because the plug reboots, but then things stop. I believe the outlet isnt updating correctly because you can see it doesnt join the home WiFi network. After the update, it still shows its setup network and the led is still blinking green and amber. Whatever is or isnt happening, I must have tried 15 times with two outlets and never got either of them to connect. I reset them, made sure my 5ghz network was turned off, rebooted the phone, tried a different device, disabled HomeKit on the router, etc. Thats a lot of troubleshooting for something that should work out-of-the-box. Finally, I reached out to support and have yet to hear anything back. Support appears to be by email only which means a bunch of back and forth telling me to do things Ive already tried. Its not worth the hassle. These are being returned.

These plugs worked fine for a while, then they did a firmware update and they no longer work correctly, they will still turn on and off but the status on my Echo 10 always reads off no matter if the plug is on or off the status never changes, I am about ready to pack them all up and send them back to Amazon,.just as a side note I bought two more of there plugs with a different firmware and those two work fine, I am also running the latest firmware on the plugs that don’t work I just updated a couple days ago, they seem to work fine on Apple home kit but if you use Alexa your probably goi g to have a problem, at least I did, and yes I did reset the plugs it didn’t help

I’ve been using these for about 3 months now to control my exterior patio lights. They started out great with easy setup and fast connection via HomeKit. They stayed connected well until the temperatures here in Minnesota started dropping below freezing. To be fair, the description does say these are only rated for use above 32F… but I have multiple other smart accessories (plugs, bulbs, doorbell, cameras, etc) from more well known brands that have had the same (or worse) exposure to the cold and are still operating just fine. Additionally, updating these plugs is kinda wonky and buggy in my experience.

I have 6 of the Meross smart plugs. They are easy to setup and use with my Samsung Smarthings app. When the power goes out, they always come back online without me being there to reset something.
