15+ months review - Customer support was responsive and tried updating the firmware to test a possible fix which unfortunately did not solve the issue. All connectivity issues disappeared after adding all Meross devices to a separate 2.4Ghz WIFI network, everything is working as expected now via the Meross app and the Homekit app. Zero glitches for over 6+ months. Updating my rating from 1 to 5 stars. 2+ months review - These smart plugs are a few feet away from the wireless modem yet they keep getting disconnected at random. When online they are not consistently detected by HomeKit. Disappointing results, I would return them if I could.

My only issue with this product is it seems to hold a charge when plugged in so it burnt out one of my led strips.

I tried over an hour to add it into HomeKit, and still failed. Finally linked it with alexa. After online search, I found it is actually due to the terrible design from Apple.

This plug works well with HomeKit and easy to install.

I use these with Apple HomePod. Setup was easy—don’t bother with the manufacturer app, just use the Home app on your iPhone

This is a reasonably priced smart outlet I needed for our Apple HomeKit installation. The one huge drawback with it is that it can only be set up when paired on a 2.4 GHz wifi network. This required that the 5 GHz wifi band be turned off in our routers, which for us was very disruptive. It can be turned back on once the outlet is added to the HomeKit network, but upgrading the firmware update also seems to require the same change to the wifi network. I’ve yet to successfully update the firmware for this device, in spite of carefully following the provided instructions.

These switches integrated relatively easily with HomeKit. Requires that you are on the 2.4Ghz wifi signal in order to connect these devices. The 2D barcode isnt in the most accessible area on the plug, so I had to scan the code and then plug in the device. The second plug that seemed to be a little more finicky so it required that it be plugged in while it was scanned in by HomeKit.

I cannot for the life of me get these to join my Home app (iOS). I have an eero mesh network and Ive followed every walkthrough I can find (mostly around disabling 5G temporarily) to no avail. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ They came highly rated and maybe its just me.

I bought these to just control a small lamp I have. My intention was to control them through HomeKit and was fairly disappointed. The initial setup wasnt that bad at all. However, once I started having connectivity/no response issues, trying to reset and setup again was such a pain and took multiple reset cycles and maybe 30 min. I found that if you manually unplug the device and plug it back in that it will magically start working super well... for a day or two. After a day or two of great performance, it completely goes unresponsive. In my experience, it doesnt degrade over that time and only responds sometimes, it just at some point decides to stop working completely. Its no more than 15 feet away from my WiFi source and I have changed my 2.4 network channel multiple times trying to find *anything* that will convince it to stay connected. I have tried both plugs and troubleshot both only to end in the same predictable result. I cannot guarantee that it will give you this much trouble if you decide to purchase this product, but do recommend possibly shopping around. I feel like this is one of the cases that you get what you pay for. Ill likely be trying out other slightly more expensive options and test my luck there. If I do land on something that performs well, I will try to remember to come back and update this review.

The switch turns on and off as expected with the proprietary Meross app and allows you to remotely control outlets away from home without using the full HomeKit integration. But the biggest issue is the automated schedule that you set through the Meross app doesn’t always turn on or off the plug at the programmed times if it loses the Wi-Fi connection. If it’s on an programmed schedule, one should think it would be set to and stored on the smart plug itself so it would no longer need a wifi connection. Not sure if this is the definite cause, but it routinely misses programmed on or off times and a bit of a deal breaker for some applications
