> 24 hourI bought the Meross plugs on a whim. These plugs have been a game changer for me. The plugs are easy to setup and connect to Apple Home App. Automation has been a breeze to create with the Home App. I will buy more!

> 24 hourThese things worked GREAT! They have been really solid, and I love the additional button on them for manual control (it essentially acts like an on/off switch so you dont HAVE to use HomeKit / Siri / Automations to use them. I can appreciate when smart home devices dont get in the way of doing things. They should only make things easier, and thats exactly what these switches do! If you really truly only need one controllable outlet, then these are a great value and truly reliable. Having said that, Meross offers a similar product for only a few dollars more that gives you two independently controllable outlets in one, and when I saw those, I bought a bunch of them.

> 24 hourSetup can be a bit of a pain. It often times fails and you have to factory reset the plug to try pairing it again. I turn my internet off at night (better sleep), and when it comes on in the morning these plugs won’t reconnect. They say “No Response” in the Home app (HomeKit). Interestingly enough, some of Meross’s other products (like smart lights) will reconnect in the morning without issue. But a bug in these plugs seems to be causing a crash internally and is only recoverable by physically pulling each plug from the wall socket and plugging in again. Not quite ideal for a smart home setup until this is fixed with a firmware update :(

> 24 hourWas able to set up both Meross plugs within 10 minutes. I just used the Apple Home app and didn’t bother installing the Meross app! Context: I had tried another brand (VOCOlink) before this and spent over an hour and failed to install those plugs. Had to return them. So, this brand seems to be more reliable.

> 24 hourI have a SAMSUNG SMART THINGS mesh network. These timers require first being set up in a meros account, and then linked to SMART THINGS. They worked fine until the first time we had a power hit/outage. Ive never been able to connect them again. I can hear them click, and then default to on. I cannot add them to the network, even though they had been named and paired. I reset the timers to factory default, and reinstalled with new names. Same issue. A wasted $50. Going forward I will only buy SAMSUNG SMART THING devices.

> 24 hourFirst of all, these work great and Id certainly buy again. I got them because I have a few in-wall Meross dimmer switches, and figured why install another app! I ran into an issue during setup, but found a solution and wanted to make people aware here: I was able to add the switch in homekit and have it respond, but as soon as I tried to add it in the Meross app, it would restart, and not reconnect to Wifi (the light would just blink and blink). The solution? Be really patient! After resetting and restarting a bunch of times, I finally just paired with homekit, added in Meross, and WAITED. It sat there for over an hour blinking, then finally connected, appeared in the Meross app, and was able to install firmware updates. No further issues. TL;DR -- just let it sit!

> 24 hourLike other reviewers, I was extremely disappointed in this products inability to connect to HomeKit. After all, this is one of the few smart plugs to support HomeKit so youd think theyd make sure it worked. To be fair, this is the second batch of these plugs I purchased. I had no problems adding the first batch to HomeKit. Everything worked correctly. However, that was a while back and iOS has been updated and the outlets have had several firmware upgrades since then. My guess is that some incompatibility now exists that hasnt been addressed. The crazy part is, in order to upgrade the firmware, the plug first needs to be added to HomeKit! So if theres a bug in the firmware preventing the connection, then it appears there is no way to update the firmware to resolve it. A very poorly thought out design. What happens when trying to add it to HomeKit is that you first scan the code, the phone connects to the outlet, some information apparently gets updated because the plug reboots, but then things stop. I believe the outlet isnt updating correctly because you can see it doesnt join the home WiFi network. After the update, it still shows its setup network and the led is still blinking green and amber. Whatever is or isnt happening, I must have tried 15 times with two outlets and never got either of them to connect. I reset them, made sure my 5ghz network was turned off, rebooted the phone, tried a different device, disabled HomeKit on the router, etc. Thats a lot of troubleshooting for something that should work out-of-the-box. Finally, I reached out to support and have yet to hear anything back. Support appears to be by email only which means a bunch of back and forth telling me to do things Ive already tried. Its not worth the hassle. These are being returned.

> 24 hourI setup home automation systems for residences part time. Most setups use Alexa/Google for automation but the latest was an exclusive Apple Homekit setup. If you’re also looking to hop onto the Homekit bandwagon and eyeballing these Meross outlets as the lowest-cost option, read on. First, setting up the Meross outlet and bulbs was more of a process than competitors, like Feit and Philips. For a few devices, the setup failed initially, requiring resets (which can burn 3-10 minutes each time). After a few failed attempts, we got all Meross devices operational. 12 hours later, the Home app indicated “no response” for one of the outlets. Resetting icloud, phone, hub, etc, did not fix the problem. The outlet was once working perfectly but is now non-functional. In the router settings, we could see that the device was still connected to the 2.4Ghz wi-fi network, so something was very fishy. We went ahead and did a clean reset of all devices at this point. Then, 12 hours later, a different Meross outlet stopped working! After a few days of whack-a-mole device resets, user testing, and researching forums, we figured out the issue. The customer was using a Netgear Orbi mesh router system which uses both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands and forces a single network name (SSID) for both bands. Because the Meross devices work exclusively on 2.4Ghz networks, it gets “confused” when it sees a 5Ghz network with the same name. We spent a week experimenting with different router settings to ensure the devices remained on the 2.4Ghz band with no luck. Also, don’t bother searching for solutions to root into the router and set a different SSID – you’ll corrupt your router settings, requiring a router reset as well! If you have a Netgear Orbi router, Meross Homekit-approved products simply won’t work. I ended up getting the customer a new, high powered router to replace the mesh system – one that allows the setup of separate SSIDs for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands. Viola – zero issues with all Meross devices for the past several days. While these Meross devices are technically working as designed now, I have to give 1 star because all competitor bulbs (Feit, Voc, Nanoleaf, Philips, Sylvania) do not have this problem and can seamlessly work on single-SSID mesh networks with no issues. These bulbs should work properly in all modern wi-fi setups and, if not, the manufacturer should go out if its way to indicate the incompatibilities.

> 24 hourOverall, I love this product. However, one of my wireless plugs has hiccups occasionally and won’t respond in my Apple home hub, which is where I control my smart switches and plugs through. If I go through the Meross app it works fine though. A little frustrating but not the biggest deal. Plugs work well besides that one hiccup

> 24 hourWhen it works, it works well with HomeKit. Otherwise sometimes apple can’t see it and when you go to re-add it, it won’t show up. This is apples fault. The smart plugs are awesome!
