> 3 dayBought this prime lens after about 2-3 years of shooting with my first-ever dSLR, the Nikon D60. I can say that this prime is a huge step up from the 18-55mm kit lens in many respects.

> 3 dayLove it! I purchased a body-only D7100 and needed a lens that was decent and still made me feel like I was getting a deal on Black Friday (Im no moneybags!). This little guy (or gal) was only $196.52 so that worked out great! Arguably, you get a better deal with the body and a zoom like the 18-200mm or the 70-300mm included for $1000-$1200, but I wasnt sure yet how to best approach lens purchases, so I figured Id start small. The last thing I want is to be a collector of lenses I never use or that cover the same ranges. But I digress.

> 3 dayThis is a good lens for scenery photography, and low light situations.

> 3 dayI had high hopes to use this as my primary lens because I love well-lit photos with background bokeh. Unfortunately I keep switching back to my kit lens (VR 18-55 f/3.5) because Im having a really hard time getting a sharp focus with this one. Maybe its just because Im an amatuer and Im struggling to get the focus just right in the shallow depth of field and without VR. All I know is Im consistently shots that are slightly blurry where the focus should be.

26-11-2024I bought this lens for profilo pictures. Overall did a good job. If you want those blurry background pictures, you will like this lens. Lightweight and easy to carry. Especially if you are using D40 or D60, you want to get this lens cuz this one did have AF.

Greater than one weekSince purchasing this lens, Ive had a hard time using anything else! Im shooting with a Nikon D800, doing a lot of video, and this lens has been perfect! Beautiful color... Check out my Vimeo site... Every video currently on there was made using (almost) exclusively this lens. Lovvvve it. [...]

Greater than one weekI use the lens quite a bit, especially for landscapes when walking around downtown areas because its such a great all-around lens. Its also great indoor, especially in low light situations. I have an 18mm-55mm and 55mm-300mm and those are also great but a bit bulky at times; the 35mm is compact and light so its nice to use if you only want to carry one lens. For the price, the quality is hard to beat. I think its a great buy!

> 3 dayThis is my second prime lense (first is the 50mm 1.8) I needed something a bit wider and something that can handle low-light situations. After using the lens for some head shots I must say Im very impressed with the performance of this glass! Very sharp and fast, it fit my needs perfectly. The performance is flawless on my D3100!
