> 3 dayThis lens is a must. Its the equivalent to the Nifty Fifty since its meant for a crop sensor (DX). The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because the focus ring is really rough. Its not smooth at all when you manually focus.

> 3 dayAt 35mm it gives a 52mm FOV on DX, and with an aperture of 1.8 it allows use indoors without flash. This gives you the ability to take some impressive photos and equally important, achieve subject isolation with a limited depth of field.

> 3 daynice and intimate lens. using with a d3300. love that it is great in low light settings and f/1.8 allows for awesome bokeh effects.

> 3 dayIts a good lens, giving sharper images if you can get all the other settings right(focus, aperture, shutter speed) . However I tend to use the 18-55mm and a Sigma lens more as its quicker to adjust zoom without fiddling about changing lenses - 35mm is fixed at 35mm so youre fixed to that focal length. I direct Indy film and I prefer not to use this lens in filming due to reasons just stated due to time constraints. However, in photography, it does produce slightly sharper images even in poorer lighting conditions. I thus think if you a a photographer seeking sharper pictures , then this lens might work for you as its cheaper than other equivalent prime lenses. Im still keeping mine for a rainy day or for when I break my other lenses by accident !

> 3 dayThis is my second prime lense (first is the 50mm 1.8) I needed something a bit wider and something that can handle low-light situations. After using the lens for some head shots I must say Im very impressed with the performance of this glass! Very sharp and fast, it fit my needs perfectly. The performance is flawless on my D3100!

> 3 dayI have owned Nikon 35mm f/1.8G for almost two years now. It is a well built lens for its price and the image quality is so good, some pro FX users use it on their D3(s) in 1.2x mode and it works great for them. This lens is a jewel in any aspect. You can do many things with it, even bang to the wall, and it will stll give you excellent IQ. You can use it also for macro when used with reverse rings, giving you 1.75 times magnification. It also has a standard 52mm filter and on the top of everything, its cheap. Sigma 30mm f/1.4, its rival, is the biggest rubbish I have ever had chance to use. Soft as butter knife wide open and heavy autofocus problems. Nikon 35mm f/1.8G should be the kit lens of any DX DSLR.

> 3 dayWith a 1.5x crop factor, this lens is equivalent to about a normal 50mm lens.
