> 24 hourThis wool ironing mat has been invaluable while making masks. Its set up next to the sewing machine and I am using a mini iron while ironing on this mat. Great product and I would recommend for anyone who wants a quick and easy way to iron masks or quilt squares without having to set up a full size ironing board.

> 24 hourIm using the mat on a small printer table next to my sewing machine. It fits perfectly. I dont have to worry about harming the top of the printer table because the pad is very thick. Normally I would have my large ironing board set up and in everyones way when Im piecing. Not anymore. I use a small, not extremely hot iron and the mat seems to reflect back the heat. Im very satisfied with the results. The mat is odor free; delivery was very prompt. It came in a hard box so there was no chance of the delivery person folding/rolling the mat.

> 24 hourHave used this mat on my kitchen island when sewing projects that require a continuous amount of sewing without having to run back and forth to my ironing board. I read other comments about the smell when ironing, and although I can smell it, there is nothing so offensive about it, nor is it constant. It doesnt transfer to what I am sewing. The mat provides good support, and is a smooth base for fabrics. It shouldnt be placed on any porous surface because it does sweat underneath, and will stain wood and such.

> 24 hourIt turns out I dont hate ironing; I just hate my ironing board. Until a month ago, Id never heard of a wool pressing mat, but if I had, I would have considered it an absolutely necessary sewing tool. It sits at the end of my cutting table, with a low profile, and when I need to iron I simply walk to the end of the table and press my fabric. I bought the larger one because I wanted to be able to press dress pieces, and Im glad I did. I havent had any issues with sticking (I saw one review mention that and it made me nervous, but I dont even feel a hint of that), and while there is a slight smell when used for a long period, its barely noticeable and not at all unpleasant. That being said, this thing could smell like a barn and Id still prefer it to my clanky, horrible, giant ironing board. I do wish it had some kind of grippers on the bottom because it does slide around my slick wood table a bit, but its not a big deal and this way its usable on both sides and theres nothing to melt. Other than that, the only thing I wish is that Id known about this years ago.

> 24 hourI have a mall table to press my quilt blocks on and this mat just fits perfectly. It doesnt slide around and I get a good crisp press. I use steam and I have noticed a wool smell from the heat but it isnt very strong as some have said and it isnt offensive. I would highly recommend these mats even tho they are a little pricey. Worth the money. Ive tried to use a couple of different pressing mats and prefer this one.

> 24 hourThis is the first time Ive used a wool ironing mat. Ive been sewing for several years and never owned one. But, this is a game changer when pressing quilt pieces or other seams open. Ive read the other reviews about the steam going through mat. I use this mat on my cutting mat and have no problems. The 17 x 17 is the perfect size for any size sewing room.

> 24 hourI was a little afraid to order this product from anyone, because of the problem of black gunk getting on fabric and iron listed in some reviews. I am glad I took a chance. First thing I did was try it on the wool setting. No black gunk. It didnt do a real good job of getting wrinkles out of fabric, but I picked one that had been folded for a while. I put the iron on the cotton setting waited a couple of minutes, and it was fine. I used a little spray bottle I had. I sprayed some water on it, and the wrinkles came out fine. No Black Gunk. I dont know why other reviewers got bad results, but I did not. I do appliqué, and this is going to be a blessing.

> 24 hourIt is nice to be able to put this on a small stand next to my sewing machine and the heat from the iron does not go through.

> 24 hourThis works better than a full size ironing board & if you are in a quilting group, very easy to tote around. I have a larger one also!!

> 24 hourI wanted to love this wool pressing mat. It worked great for getting nice crisp fabric, and no noticeable odor from the mat. However, the mat sheds terribly all over the fabric, and it was almost like it imbedded into the material because no amount of using a fabric roller would remove the little wool fibers. After I had to redo my last sewing project due to all of the visible wool fibers stuck in the fabric I stopped using this mat. Now looking for something that truly wont shed.
