Greater than one weekLOOKS great. A quilting and embroidery friend swears by hers. It is a really good size for me. I like the New Zealand Wool - after reading up on it - not smelly. I did see there is one that is even a bigger size 24x60 - could do a good portion of a quilt. I will check that size out I have had experience using this one for a time. You cannot use the wool with steam - it holds the water. But I am good with that.

Greater than one weekHave been using this while quilting and love it. It is true that the heat stays in while pressing and love that you can see yourself in a little corner with sewing machine and iron. Loved it so much, I got one for all 3 of my sisters.

> 3 dayIm using the mat on a small printer table next to my sewing machine. It fits perfectly. I dont have to worry about harming the top of the printer table because the pad is very thick. Normally I would have my large ironing board set up and in everyones way when Im piecing. Not anymore. I use a small, not extremely hot iron and the mat seems to reflect back the heat. Im very satisfied with the results. The mat is odor free; delivery was very prompt. It came in a hard box so there was no chance of the delivery person folding/rolling the mat.

> 3 dayI love this mat, I bought a 17 X 17 mat a couple of days prior to ordering this one. I loved the first one so much I ordered a second one to travel to retreats with and small enough to fit down the side of sewing bag without bending it. Great product and works just like they advertise. Suggestion to anyone out there wanting to try a mat, this is the one to try. Might be a little more expensive but worth every penny. I will never buy another brand of mat...

> 3 dayThis is the first time I have used a wool mat and I am very glad I chose this one. Of course when you use steam, it is going to smell a bit, but it just smells like wool - not any different than steaming wool clothes. When used with a wooden clapper, seams are flat, flat, flat! Love it.

> 3 dayI’ve made dozens and dozens and dozens of quilts. Everyone in my family, kids and spouses, grandkids and spouses, sleep under quilts I have made. Rarely does something come along that really helps you take a leap forward (think rotary cutter), but this little mat does! I just got the mat about half way through a queen size log cabin quilt, so I was able to compare the earlier pressing to the pressing with the mat. The difference is unbelievable! I use Mary Ellen’s Best Press (yet another leap forward product you can purchase on Amazon) on my blocks, so I cover the mat with an old cotton sheet to protect it. I can’t tell you how pleased I am with this pressing aid.

> 3 dayWas hesitant about ordering this item....read the reviews and decided to order. I love it. I had tried using an old wool blanket doubled over several times, and didnt think much of it. Took a chance and love this so much I will be ordering another one for our vacation home. This is a 1/2 thick high quality very sturdy mat, yet is light in weight. Im working on bear claw blocks that have lots of seams and this product makes my seams nice and flat. I received this item the day after ordering it.....delivered on a Sunday! If youre a serious quilter, yes, you need this.

Greater than one weekI bought this wool mat to replace a Steady Betty I purchased to press quilt-as-you-go blocks. I was not happy with the foam surface on the Steady Betty and while it is great to hold quilt block pieces to see how they work together, the foam is such that it is not suitable as an ironing surface (we felt it might melt). I love this small 13.5 square wool mat. It is perfect to use with my miniature iron to press quilt-as-as you blocks.

> 3 dayIt is a little flimsy. I was expecting it to be more rigid. I had to iron black pants and they got covered in fuz. I recalled a reviewer’s suggestion to roll the sticky lint roll over the whole surface. I did so but it continues to lose fuz. I then just put my iron straight onto the surface to flatten the fuz and see if that does it. It minimized it but it still has little fuzzies. I just decided to lint roll the pants at the end. I didn’t pay much and this is used for crafting. I’ll use my good ironing board and iron for my garments.

Greater than one weekI had bought one of the ironing mats that attaches to the dryer top with magnets, and it was a disappointment. The wrinkles never came out of it, and it was too thin. The wool mat is wonderful. I ordered a size to fit on my sewing machine cabinet right by my machine, and it is perfect for ironing seams when sewing. The wool ironing mat arrived well-packed, and it has been a great addition to my sewing accessories.
