Ironing on this is vey nice. Ive only had it for several weeks, so time will tell if its worth having. Ill update my review after I do piece work for quilting and also embroidery. But so far I do like it.

Its handy for small projects without having to use a big ironing board. It has a sturdy base and a smooth surface to iron on. I really like its portability. Do not use on porous surfaces, such as wood, because it does sweat and could stain.

I have debated getting one of these, wondering if it was just another gimmick. The size of this one appealed to me as I have a small home/sewing area and this would fit great in space available. Tried it as soon as it arrived and i love it. The seams in my blocks pressed just beautifully. I noticed a great improvement with this as opposed to the ironing board. I will be recommending this to all my quilting friends.

I agonized over which brand to buy, this is a littler more than some others, have to say glad I made this choice well worth the money, and no smell.

I use this wool mat to press my seams when I quilt. At first, I thought the mat was leaving small strands of wool on my fabric (like link) but after using it several times, that went away. Maybe the heat of the iron took care of the problem. Now I use it all the time for pressing crisp seams. I recommend the large size if it will fit on your ironing board or other surface. More space to lay out multiple block.

LOOKS great. A quilting and embroidery friend swears by hers. It is a really good size for me. I like the New Zealand Wool - after reading up on it - not smelly. I did see there is one that is even a bigger size 24x60 - could do a good portion of a quilt. I will check that size out I have had experience using this one for a time. You cannot use the wool with steam - it holds the water. But I am good with that.

I found that it works great, no smell after using. This brand was recommend, to me by a quilter. After reading a lot of comments about other mats - it sticks - poor quilty - wouldnt buy it again. I ask a quilter on what she uses and why. I would buy it again!Sandy

    Greater than one week

I love it, the surface by far produces better ironing than an ironing board but it smells a bit when the heat hits it. Maybe like lanolin from the wool.. Its not terrible just noticeable but its a great value! I have a different brand one that emits no smell.

I have used this a lot this week and really like that it is so light and that the heat does not penetrate through to the underside. It suggests not using steam which is the only downside, but you can use Best Press with no problems. The board I was using before was heavy, but very study. I had to quit using it as I was having trouble lifting it. This is so much better. I recommend it. I only wish I had bought a larger size, but this will work just fine.

A smaller surface for small pressing jobs. Works great on a table top.
