I bought this in an attempt to regulate my window A/C more effectively. The A/C thermostat was either poorly functioning or just in the wrong place (i.e. on the machine itself), so the cooling never began or ceased when it was supposed to. Finally, with this device, I can keep the room at a sensible temperature. I agree with the critics who feel the user interface and instructions could be better, but I was able to figure out and am very happy with the result.

This worked exactly as described. I do wish it had better temperature difference between off and on.

Works great but does use up batteries pretty quick.

Im an American and like my temperature in Fahrenheit. The instruction manual did not say how to switch from Commie Celsius. The Amazon product description has the process above. Other than that, it works exactly as advertised. Hooked up to a window AC unit in the wood shed and now I have a thermostat.

The design of the outlet on this is such that it doesnt hold a plug well. Because of that the plug backed out and the heater I had plugged into it never came on. Luckily, that didnt matter much, this time. It does sense the temperature and turn on and off like its supposed to, but without tying the plug down where it cant fall out of the outlet, that doesnt matter much. Im pretty sure the house didnt move much while I was gone, so I dont think it was shaken loose. It wasnt where any critters could get to it, so I dont think it was knocked loose. Im pretty sure it just fell out, because the outlet simply doesnt hold a plug in place.

After spending 5 minutes trying to figure out how to change the remote from Celsius to Fahrenheit (you have to refer to the answered questions in this listing, not the manual) I tried to plug in my space heater. It wouldnt stay plugged in. I tried other cords to see if the problem was the space heater cord or the wireless plug and found that nothing would stay plugged in. Since I have a lot of electronics experience I opened up the wireless plug to see what was wrong. None of the three contacts in the plug receptacle were griping the prongs of my plugs nor could they be made to. The material seems to made made of regular brass rather than spring brass and just give way as soon as you plug something in. I need this to control a 1,200 watt space heater and with a loose plug there is too much risk of fire. Im now looking for a different one.

Shortly after I received this thermostat and tried setting it up, I was tempted to write a one star review. But once I figured out how to use it, without much help from the minimal instructions that were enclosed, I love it. I am using it to control a space heater in a bedroom. The central heating in our apartment is a problem because of the apartments long distance from the buildings heater boilers. So, I have been using a space heater at night. I have had this problem for several years, and I was never able to find a thermostat arrangement that would help. The problem was that even though the space heater had what it claimed was a thermostat, that thermostat was built into the heater. So there was no way that the heater could keep the room at a desired temperature. But since I put the heater near the outside wall of the bedroom and this thermostat across the room on the far side of the bed, the room has been kept at just the temperature that I set the thermostat. The thermostat and the receptacle plug-in that it comes with appear to be well made, it is solving a vexing problem for me, and I had not previously found any comparable unit, so it deserves five stars. But be aware that it may take you some head scratching to figure out the thermostats user interface. It took me a couple of hours.

Meh, seems to work okay, like everyone has said you have to fumble around with it for a few to figure out how to work everything. Plug is not that great, made with low quality plastic, had to bend the prongs on the heater I have plugged in to keep the plug in the socket. Loose fit.

This is a must have if you are using a space heater or window air conditioner. It is easy to set up and keeps the temperature at a very constant level. Wish I had known this was available as I feel it could have paid for itself many times over by saving electricity. This unit keeps the temperature as close as the wall mounted thermostats on my heat pump units. Buy it you won’t regret it.
