These strips work great and hold furniture down well. However, when we took the strip off a shelf after about a month of being on it left a residue. Not a big deal on IKEA furniture, but I wouldn’t use it on something more expensive than that.

I’ve bought this before. Living in CA you have earthquakes now and then. I got these to proactively keep things from falling over. They can be attached to anything like a TV, book case, entertainment center, etc. if the EQ is really big things may still fall but this is added security.

So impossible to rate since the ‘big one’ has yet to hit California. Only issue is I had to re-buy this because the studs in my new apartment didn’t quite match were I put the Velcro in my previous apartment. But so simple in concept that even I could manage and I have a long history of butchering dry wall. Let’s hope I’m never truly able to rate how well these work. My bed is far enough away from the book cases at least. Now the only think that can fall on me is my entire apartment. No biggie.

Easy to apply and the grip feels strong (my senior citizen hands needed help from pliers to separate the industrial strength velcro). But be aware that while the strap is 15 inches long, the velcro takes up 6 of those inches, and the grommets (places the lag screw could anchor) are only 3 and 6 inches from the velcro. So if you have the suggested 1 inch or more of slack between the lag screw and the velcro, that means you need to anchor these 2 to 5 inches from the edge you are stabilizing. In my case I was stabilizing a 54 inch wide china cabinet on each side, and with 16-inch center to center studs, I could make it fit but had to position the cabinet farther down the wall than I wanted so it would line up with the studs. If I had had a, say, 58 inch wide cabinet, I would have had to anchor at least one of the straps outside the profile of the cabinet, and I wouldnt have liked that appearance. The other choice would have been to use a shorter length of velcro on the cabinet, which would have made the bond less secure. It would merit five stars if they had made the strap a little longer with another grommet or two to allow more flexibility in positioning. The problem I mention applies to a side mounting. Mounting at the top wouldnt involve that issue.

I have a very tall (7+ft) and wide (6.5ft) mahogany China cabinet. It weights a ton. I recently moved it into my living room because it was so big it over powered the dining room. I realized that, being on the second floor, it shook when people walked by. Nothing major, but it did have me uneasy. I used two of these straps to secure it to the wall and was amazed. No more shaking or wobbling. I could jump up and down in front of it without the least bi movement. I echo other reviewers in cautioning that the straps really need to be attached to a stud, This wasnt a problem given the width of the cabinet. The cabinet may not be exactly centered with the wall studs, but i am confident it is secure. Ive also seen what can happen when a child pulls out the drawers of a dresser and tries to climb it. My nieces dresser cam tumbling down on her because she did just that. I wouldnt hesitate to put these on any dressers or tall pieces of furniture in a house with kids. I am ordering another set for a grandfather clock. I dont think ill be able to enter that with a stud, but its considerably lighter, so i think I can get away with a sturdy wall anchor.

Couldnt drill holes into the furniture. This seemed to be exactly what I was looking for. Installed into wall stud. Stuck to cabinet. Adhesion is great! Thing is not coming down. Hopefully these stand the test of time. Will revise if they dont!

Poor quality. Using to hold a shelf to wall in toddlers room. My husband specifically asked that I never purchase this brand again. Looks fine and seems to do the job however.

Only needed one of the straps to secure a tall etagere bookcase to the wall. Very secure and easy to install.

I live in Earthquake-ville (So Cal) so I bought these straps for my two 5-shelf lawyer bookcases, which are heavy even when empty. Mine are both full of books. Since installing them, weve had at least three earthquakes all over 5.0, along with some minor shakers all with aftershocks; the bookcases didnt move. The straps come in at least 4 different colors to blend with wall color. I highly recommend this product.
