Redragon M901 Gaming Mouse RGB Backlit MMO 18 Macro Programmable Buttons with Weight Tuning Set, 12400 DPI for Windows PC Computer (Wired, White)

I tried out this mouse because it looked great and I wanted lots of programmable buttons. Unfortunately, it had some major flaws. I eventually went with the Logitech G600, and like it better for several reasons, which I will detail below.

For the price, you cant beat it. It doesnt feel quite as high quality as my old logitech, but it actually works, unlike the logitech. I like the programmable fire button on the left side of the top of the mouse. The only real aspect that I dont like that much is the fact that the color for the LED on the scroll wheel is not linked to the LEDs for the rest of it. That light changes with the DPI profile you are using, with choices between yellow, blue, pink, green and red. So, if you want to match everything up, you have to set the DPI you will usually use to the corresponding color that you want. It would be much better if there were an option in the included software to link the scroll LED color with the rest of the LEDs. You can also set the rest of the LEDs to any color you can think of, but not the scroll wheel. It works on every surface I have tried. It works on glossy surfaces, rough surfaces, mouse pads (obviously), pant legs, my face (which I just tried because I was thinking of places to test it), carpet, etc. Most of the people reading these reviews are probably worried about the durability of such a cheap mouse. Well, I plugged mine in on 8/9/2016 and as of 12/11/2016, it still works and looks exactly as it did when I first purchased it. I use it quite a bit because not only am I a gamer, I do a lot of work at home right on this computer. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase. Update 10/30/2018 After over two years, the mouse is at the end of its life. A few months ago, the scroll wheel started randomly not responding. Today, the whole mouse shuts off randomly. It will work fine, then suddenly all the LEDs shut off, and the mouse completely stops working. After a second or two, it comes back. Ive tried it on more than one computer and it does the same thing. Two years isnt a terrible life for a cheap mouse, but its not spectacular. I guess Ill leave it at four stars simply because of the price.

This is a great replacement for my Utech Smart Venus and slightly cheaper too in terms of price. Unfortunately as much as I love the Utech Smart mouse it started having mechanical problems with that double/triple-clicking and it does affect game-play which is very annoying. Hopefully the Red Dragon M901 would last me more than 2 years compared to the Utech Smart Venus. I like the packaging for the Red Dragon M901 as its small unlike most mouse packaging out there while they all look nice I just want to throw them in the garbage anyway because they are usually too big but this one is worth keeping because it doesnt take up too much space. This mouse is a little smaller and the left and right mouse button clicks doesnt feel as satisfying as the Utech Smart. But it works great and I do like that coarse material feel on the mouse. Also its very comfortable to handle even on long hours of game time. The driver while it almost looks the same as Utech Smarts driver is a little clunky to configure. It took me about 15 min. to figure out how to properly activate the breathing settings for the Red Dragons light. Also minor complaint that the mouse wheel light doesnt breath like Utech Smart, with the Red Dragon only the numeric side button lights + the Red Dragon logo light that does the breathing. I would have enjoyed it more if all the lights breath but its not a deal breaker imo just subjective preference. What I really didnt like about this mouse is the preset buttons I think Utech Smart did that right with a more balanced DPI presets. This one needs more work in that regard thats why I recommend doing manual settings on the driver so you can set your own desired DPI otherwise the mouse sensitivity from the presets would either be too weak that the pointer barely moves even if you slide the mouse all the way to the side or too strong where the pointer flies all over the screen and you barely even move it. If you play slow paced games 4000-5000 DPI is fine but if youre playing MOBAs, RTS or FPS that require faster reflexes then you can set the DPI as high as 24000 if youre that good. Even though I sound like Im panning the Red Dragon M901 more than Im giving it credit I still like this one a lot and it gets the job done and I would say its a very competitive contender to other MMO mouse such as the Razer Naga and Utech Smart Venus.

I was looking for a high precision gaming mouse to use with my new PC I just built. I not only game, but I am also an avid multitasker, so I was looking for a mouse with programmable buttons to make my life easier. I have definitely found it in this mouse. The overall feel of the mouse is very sturdy and feels well built. The mouse comes with extra padded feet so if you ever wear them down, you can replace them. Aesthetically, the mouse is gorgeous. The default profiles light colors are nice, but you can even program custom colors, too. There are profile colors and DPI colors, so it might seem confusing. But, the scroll wheel color indicates DPI color while the button and dragon symbol colors indicate which profile it is on. As for the feel of the mouse, I would rate it 8.5/10. The left mouse button and most of the 12 buttons feel great. The right click button is a little too sensitive for my hands. Maybe it is because I have twitchy fingers, but I sometimes find myself accidentally clicking the right click right after I left click. Also, the middle column of buttons are a little harder to press than the left and right columns. By this I mean the 2, 5, 8, and 11 number buttons. The right and left columns have a nice audible and tactile response to them and are very easy to reach with your thumb. I do have trouble sometimes with the middle column: sometimes I press more than one at a time, other times it doesnt register the click. But, I think this may be due more to the positioning of the buttons rather than the build of the keys. The driver software is very self-explanatory and lets you customize almost everything about the mouse. The weights included also impress. I prefer a heavy mouse, so I left all the weights in, but it has 8 of them for you to customize the weight with. It also has a cool carrying case for the weights. Overall, this is an amazing mouse for just shy of $40. For such a new company to the gaming mouse business, Redragon makes a good first impression. Even my complaints are probably due to human issues rather than build issues. Definitely a high quality gaming mouse and the only choice for those who want quality and a good price.

So, the M901 has been my go-to gaming mouse for a long time, now. Probably since 2014-ish? Anyway, what you have here is the updated M901-2, not the M901. The official Redragon driver website does NOT support this mouse. I contacted them. They dont even sell it, and I was informed that they *do not support it.* They told me to contact the seller, instead, for any support or software. Its a real mouse, yes, but you have to take it as it comes. There is no software for it. I have looked everywhere online, risked a sketchy website and still did not find one. Whatever software is pictured with this mouse does not come with the mouse. There is no installation disc, link, or anything. The software is mentioned in the manual just as the software. Again, there are no links to it and it is not named. No, this mouse will NOT work with your Redragon M901 software. Ive tried. The redesign is big and clunky. The thumb guard is in the way. I will be returning this purchase. If you want the M901 (the good one, with software) then I suggest you buy from the Redragon site. Again this is the updated, newer version M901-2 that is being sold here, not the M901. If you want a gaming mouse for smaller adult hands that comes with software and is fully supported by the Redragon website (and their official resellers) then you should avoid this listing for now. Look for the M901. It looks just like this one, but without the thumb guard or the DPI lights on top. It does have DPI buttons in the same place, just not the red bar-lights.

I bought the Perdition in January of 2016, and now that its been a little over two months that Ive had to play with the mouse I decided to finally sit down and write a review for it. So I first bought the Perdition after my 2014 Razer Naga died after only one year of use. I was a bit hesitant to buy this mouse because I never had heard of the Redragon brand before, but after my Razer died within a year I was looking for alternatives and at half the price of a Razer I decided to give this mouse a shot. The main differences I noticed between the Perdition and the Naga were that the Perdition is actually a bit bigger than my Naga was, but it wasnt uncomfortable fitting in my hand and Id consider my hands average size. The Perdition also had a textured surface which made for easier gripping compared to the smoother Naga. The mouse even has a nice, long, braided usb cable that appears to be much thicker than my Naga and I havent had any issue with the cabling curling like my Naga tended to do. One of the bigger differences between the two mice though, is that the Perditions side keys are angled differently by row compared to the Nagas which are all the same. The angled keys make it easier to know which row your thumb is on without looking, so its a bit easier to train your hand if youve never used a mouse like this before. I also noticed that the Perditions side keys take a little bit more pressure for a response and have a bit less of a sharp, clicky feel to them compared to the Naga, but after familiarizing myself with this it didnt take me very long to adjust and now I dont even notice it. The mouse came with the ability to weight tune it – but I found that I didnt need it – and a software installation mini disc. It isnt necessary to install the software to use the side keys, but if youd like to setup things for macros, adjusting mouse speed, change the LED light settings, etc., then you need to install the software. Fortunately, the software is relatively pain-free to install and easy to setup things such as changing the colors of the mouse lights, the pointer speed, etc. Theres also five available profiles that you can save your settings for which is nice if you have several different games you play and each calls for a different set of macros. Ive installed the Perdition software on PCs running both Windows 7 and Windows 8 and have had no issue with it whatsoever, and so far Im really enjoying it. I bought the Perdition along with the Redragon Archelon gaming mouse pad, and they work great together, although Im sure the Perdition would be just fine with any mouse pad that you have. The real test Im waiting for when it comes to this mouse is to see if it can outlive my 2014 Naga which lasted only a year with regular use. So after I hit a years use Ill be looking to come back and update this review to reflect my findings. Overall, from what Ive experienced so far the Perdition is a great alternative to the Razer Naga series of mice and at half the price it cant be beat. Ive also read a few other reviews about people having parts breaking on the Perdition, but I havent had any problem with things like that, although I will keep this review updated either way. ---Update 10/07/17--- Its been over a year since Ive had the Perdition and Im happy to update that unlike my Razer 2014 Naga, its still alive and kicking. The mouse works relatively well and Ive only had one issue come up with it which is a minor annoyance, but Id love to see the manufacturer fix it nonetheless since I know they can already make a good mouse. The issue Ive had with it is that the 6 and 7 side keys seem to stick, as in when you press the 6 it will also act as if the 7 was pressed too. This can get a bit annoying while gaming, but Ive set my game buttons so that the 6 & 7 button use the same ability so I hardly notice it anymore. At first it was annoying and I contacted the manufacturer that told me to uninstall the Perdition software and to reinstall it, which fixed the problem for a while, but eventually the issue popped up again so I found the aforementioned work around. Still, Im rather happy with my purchase and Id definitely be willing to purchase more peripherals from Redragon.

Im not sure what I expected ordering a mouse this cheap, but I must say I am absolutely astounded by the quality to price ratio of this mouse. The adjustable LED lighting works and does not disappoint with brightness and range of colors. The adjustable weight system was handy and not something I knew I needed. I personally prefer my mouse to be a bit heavier, so I left them all in, but I could see the ability to make the mouse lighter being advantageous to people who game more often that I do. The texture of the mouse was something I hadnt quite thought of before ordering, but it has a nice grippy textured surface on the mouse that I much prefer to the smooth plastic mice Ive used in the past. The star of this mouse though is definitely the programmable buttons. I was a little hesitant about installing the mouse controller software, but after a quick kaspersky scan came back clear, I though Id give it ago. The software is polished and intuitive for the most part. Most importantly, though, it allows for an absurd amount of customization of the mouse, which Id expect from mice in the 90+ dollar range. One important lesson I learned is that if you use a USB hub to connect the mouse to your computer, you may need to plug the mouse directly into the computer NOT the usb hub when pushing settings updates to the mouse. Once the settings have been sent over, you can return it to the usb hub without issue.

Purchased this back in 2015. Never used a mice like this so when I first got it, it took about a week or two to get used to. It’s a good fit for small hands. The side buttons were very useful and easy to work with (imo), i found it mostly helpful drop kicking kids in fps games. Talking about from noob to ultra chad lvl. -Honestly ergonomics is decent but my thumb and pinky be dragging against the mousepad sometimes. -The rapid fire button is completely useless to me because of how awkward the position is, I’ve only used rapid fire button for cookie clicker simulator but you could just download auto clickers that click faster than the software. -Do you actually use 16k dpi? My profiles go as follows 400-1000 when using photoshop 2000 normal fps setting with 1.8 sensitivity 3000 yes 4000 mainly for browsing 10000 if your a man of culture iykyk All these settings are subjective to you, You may be a person who likes to play like a turtle Or want to be a cracked out sanic hitting 69420’s off a balcony with 16k dpi totally up to you. -Double clicking/misclicks/scroll wheel I’ve only experienced these issues this year, sometimes when clicking left it tends to not register the clicks. Same with right click when im ads it ends up out of ads or doesnt work when holding it down. Scroll wheel is very sensitive, when your trying to punch someone with M3 click but end up scrolling up or down and get finished in apex. Imagine that, nah couldn’t be me. -overall I mean after having it for this long and for the price its a solid mouse. You get what you pay for type of deal. Honestly wouldnt get anything from red dragon again it was a good budget setup but its time to move on.

Pros: -The $30ish dollar pricetag for this makes it easily half the price of its main competitor, the Razer Naga. I feel like Nagas quality has been going downhill the last few years, and a Naga Razer was only lasting me around 12 months with every day normal use. Im not mean to my mice, the Naga just didnt hold up. I gambled on this because I thought, Even if this DOES break after a year, thats way better than paying $80+ for the same amount of use from a Naga. I got a few years of use out of my M901 and when I had a minor issue with it, I immediately replaced it with another. -It has mappable buttons, you can remap these to whatever your heart desires. I predominantly use this an an MMO gaming mouse to play FFXIV, and its perfect for that. I admittedly dont use most of the buttons except for the numberpad ones on the side, but its useful for that. -Speaking of the side buttons, they have a nice sort of concave/inverted tip to them, and this makes them very easy to use and differentiate which rows your on. -Its a little on the smaller side, which for myself (a person with small hands that most gaming mice arent designed for) is actually a very nice perk. Bigger mice make my carpal tunnel worse, so this slightly smaller one is nice. -They recently started packaging these in reusable tacklebox type cases so if you want to travel with it, it very neatly fits in this compact hard case. -It has weights in it, so you can get a more custom feel out of your mouse. Cons: -I dont particularly like the rough texture that they coat it with, it makes my hands feel oddly dry, a bit like touching the rougher sort of microfiber clothes. Its not a dealbreaker for me, and after a few months of use, it will wear down enough its less noticeable. -Even with my small hands, I sometimes find my pinky can drag a little off the side, so just be aware of that if its a thing that bothers you. This might heavily depend on how you hold your mouse too, so this may just be a me thing, and I definitely dont hold it against Red Dragon. --- This is the second one of these Ive owned, and I only replaced the first one because after years of use, it started to hold left click a little bit, which was really only noticeable when I was highlighting text to copy/paste. Im sure this is an easily fixable issue, and it didnt even do it that often, but I didnt want to mess with it too much considering I can just get a brand new one for $30. All in all, Red Dragon is making very good quality products at a fraction of Razers price tag, so if youre wanting to try a gaming mouse but dont have the dosh to fork over for other Razers products, seriously consider giving Red Dragon products a try. The price tag makes this a very nice entry level for anyone even looking to try a MMO-style gaming mouse.

2018 Update: After trying to replace this with a Corsair Scimitar - I just cant do it. The ergonomics of the Red Dragon have spoiled me. The lightness and preciseness are still better. The numpad on the sides design should simply be a standard at this point, and the rough coating means it never gets slippery from my greasy mitts.I just wish the mouse wheel wasnt failing. After buying a second I noticed its mousewheel feels as it should and was a little disappointed. The vendor requested I write a review, so here are my observations. For the price it is almost difficult to write anything negative about this device - you probably wont find a better one for the MMO niche that performs as well at said price. The tracking is very good, maybe better than any mouse Ive used, and Ive owned mice from XAI, Logitech and Razer. It even works on less-than-perfect surfaces. The bundled software is polished and functional. The main buttons have a great feel. Id even say the main two mouse buttons should be a benchmark for the perfect amount of clickiness and actuation pressure those buttons should have...for any mouse. The scrolling action of the wheel also has a great feel. The construction overall is solid, there is no flex. All is not perfect. The trigger button next to the first mouse button isnt recognized by any game Ive tried other than as Mouse 1. I honestly dont understand its purpose at all other than as a gimmick. The side buttons are too far back to make any of the last buttons useful. They also are too tough to actuate without moving the mouse around. Clicking the scroll button is hit or miss-- sometimes it clicks how it should and other times it takes a ridiculous amount of pressure to actuate. The latter could have most people write this mouse off immediately, and thats a shame. I took the weights out because it made the mouse feel unnecessarily heavy and caused it to pivot around the axis where they are located. Overall: good mouse, though slightly flawed. Has a funky, skateboard deck texture. Feels like it would outlast a Naga, which might be enough for some to put up with its foibles. I like the tracking so much Im even using it with FPSes, so I guess thats saying something. Hopefully the next model has a better wheel.
