Redragon M901 Gaming Mouse RGB Backlit MMO 18 Macro Programmable Buttons with Weight Tuning Set, 12400 DPI for Windows PC Computer (Wired, White)

Trying to find a mouse that actually just works on any random surface these days is difficult, without going over-the-top for competition-grade gaming mice. This mouse is the best Ive found for the money so far that doesnt get confused on all but the glossiest surfaces. Also, the mouse wheel has not failed (i.e. you turn the wheel but it doesnt register as turning), and doesnt seem like it will at over two years since purchase. That has been a hugely disturbing trend lately with several recent mice Ive had. Typical surfaces I use: 1. My leg, while sitting on the couch, whether in jeans, sweats, or on my skin in shorts, this mouse actually just works. 2. On cushions/fabric, using the mouse off to my right on the couch itself while seated on the couch. 3. On a typical table or desk surface - as long as its not glass or completely glossy, even ones that stump other mice I have work, like a white plastic, textured 6x3 foot fold-out table I have - the surface isnt mouse friendly, but I have no problems. 4. Any random surface while using a laptop. I wont guarantee this will work on a glass-top desk - you may need a mouse pad for that one. It DOES NOT work on the 100% glossy black monitor stand from one of my monitors. Works fine on brushed aluminum and other semi-glossy surfaces. Other features: * Good feel to it * I havent messed with DPI settings - tend to set it and forget it on those * The weights - I just leave them all in and thats good for me. * The MMO buttons - Id prefer a smaller number, actually, I tend to just use 1 or 2 of them on games, but I havent MMOd lately either (wish I had this back when I did). That being said, they work fine. Buttons 7-12 are a bit far back - at least with my hand, its a bit awkward to reach back for them, but I never use them so I dont know if they are okay for rarely used functions or not. The 1-6 keys are fine, but I usually stick to 1 and 2. One benefit of fewer buttons would be that each one would be bigger - they are a little small to pick out individual keys with my big thumb.

I tried out this mouse because it looked great and I wanted lots of programmable buttons. Unfortunately, it had some major flaws. I eventually went with the Logitech G600, and like it better for several reasons, which I will detail below.

So Ive used this mouse now for almost 5 years now and figured Id leave a review. The plastic feels pretty cheap, and the non stick coating has started to come off. The biggest disappointment with this mouse is that it is far too light. Even with all the weights that come with it, it still feels WAY too light - and as someone that prefers heavy mice, thats absolutely a bad thing. I feel like the only way I can fix this problem, is to have a steel bottom plate milled to the exact shape - so that its double or triple the weight that the model currently is. Also, itd be nice is it was slightly larger too, and with some place for my pinkie finger to actually rest, instead of having to drag it off the side and on my mouse pad.

Heres some interesting information that the gaming community needs to know about this mouse, coming from someone with far too much knowledge about gaming mice (and partnerships with the companies that make the laser and optical sensors). First and foremost, these Cheap Chinese Mice that get rebranded as MSI, Logitech, and whoever are really the same internals. What it really boils down to are the goodies inside. A mouse is a very simple peripheral that can be put into a few categories, which I will review individually. Switches, Sensor, Driver, Form, Aesthetics, and Other. Switches: This mouse uses really nice Omron switches. When it comes to long-life, good-quality switches, Omron is pretty much the king. Omron makes industrial switches, but also really high performance switches that go into things like gaming mice. These switches have very high precisions of actuation, meaning the amount of force required to press and trigger the switch is very precise. It also means that these mice are going to last through a lot of those games, whether youre playing an FPS or pushing it to the limit in a game like Torchlight. Sensor: There are two reigning champs in sensors. Avago and Philips. Avago makes incredibly good optical sensors and Philips is known best for their dual laser sensors. Both make really great sensors. This mouse has the highest DPI Avago sensor to date, which means that you could crank the DPI to an insane level and have incredibly precise tracking. For things like an FPS, this is pretty important. I want to say that not everyone needs this high DPI. Its just a very nice to have in such a cheap mouse. Driver: Some mice dont have drivers. In fact, most mice are simple HID (Human Interface Devices) and never get anything but a generic driver. So why is there a whole section for drivers? Well it does really matter on a mouse that has a bunch of buttons. These buttons have to be programmed and it matters if this programming is on the mouse or on the computer. Redragon was nice enough to have some onboard storage on the mouse so that when I configure this mouse, I can take it to any computer, plug it in as an HID, and use it with all of my profiles without setting up the driver. Nice! The drivers themselves are really nice, install quickly, save profiles one the mouse, can save them externally, have lots of configuration options. It very will thought out. The RGB lights on the mouse can be custom set, custom DPI modes can be set, every button on the mouse can be rebound to something else. Overall, they did an excellent job and I dont have a single complaint about the drivers. Form: The mouse itself is very ergonomic, whether youre a palm gripper or more of a claw gripper like myself. The side buttons were cleverly formed so that my thumb can press the front ones with the tip and the back ones with the ball. These side buttons, at first, seemed to be a little firmer than I wanted, but I soon realised this was well thought out so that I would not accidentally press buttons or press when I had to grip the mouse to lift it. The entire mouse is coated in a nice textured polymer that gives an excellent grip. It also gives more feedback for when Im touching a button, as opposed to the rest of the mouse since they are different textures. The adjustable weights are a very nice touch. I prefer my mouse to be a bit lighter, so I only have 3 of the weights in. Someone who prefers a heavier mouse or who is used to a wireless mouse may want all of the weights in. This mouse also has side rests for my ring and pinky, which I hope is becoming more of a trend. My last mouse also had this, and Im glad to have another with this form. I do hope theres a lefty version of this mouse, but for someone whos definitely a dedicated righty, its nice to have a mouse that fits my hand for long use. Aesthetics: This mouse does come in a couple colors, which is nice. I chose the Black version, because all of my hardware and bezels are black. The red is a nice touch because it does add a splash of color. Being able to change the center breathing light color is also very nice for indicating special profiles. The Mouse wheel will change color with profiles and overall I really do like the looks of this mouse. Ive never been a huge fan of some mice, namely the R.A.T. and some of the Razer mice, but this one is actually pleasant on my desk. It also has a red braided cable that gives a bit of color all the way back to my computer. Other: There are some things that dont fall into the other categories, so they fall into the other category! The USB plug is a bit large. If its plugging into a laptop, itll stick out pretty far, but its nice that its not going to break off and that its easy to remove. As mentioned before, the cable is braided, which is really nice. Its not a removable cable. Some people call that a con, I count it as a huge pro because I never want my cable detaching mid game. Redragon was nice enough to send replacement teflon feet for the mouse because they assume youre going to game hard and wear them out. It has an 18 month warranty, which is unusual. Its not long or short, its just unusual to be a year and a half. They do make other mice, too! If youre looking at mice, look at their other ones, too, you may find one that suits you more. Ive actually purchased two mice from them because they suit two purposes. One is an MMO mouse and the other is for FPSs. Overall, I couldnt be more pleased with this find. I do highly recommend this and their other mice because theyre really well crafted and well thought out.

I had owned a Razor Naga gaming mouse for two years. I loved the programmable buttons on the side. It made gaming so much easier! However, after about a year and a half, the mouse began to perform oddly. When I would use the left mouse button, it would often double click (even though I only clicked once) and this was becoming a nuisance. I did some research and discovered that many other people were having this same issue; however, I really loved the programmable buttons on the side. I knew I wasnt going to buy another Razor, since there were so many people having issues with them and they are not cheap! So I began searching on amazon for programmable gaming mice and found the redragon. I read the reviews and was a bit concerned about some of the problems people had, but decided to try it out. I am so glad I did, I love it! The mouse is a little unique because it is wider than the Razor Naga. Thankfully I have had no issues with my hands cramping up while using the mouse; however, I naturally rotate computer mice in my hand, to the left (counter clockwise). (Just want to add this bit of information because this is a personal preference, which may be a bit odd to some people!) My fingers fit perfectly as well as comfortably on the mouse and I believe this gives me better access to the programmable buttons too! The options for the mouse are amazing. As mentioned by other reviewers, it takes sometime to understand the programming options that the Redragon mouse offers. But in my opinion it is worth going through the rigamaroo and have a mouse with a lot of customization-able options (lights, speed, sensitivity, etc...). The mouse lighting is a bonus and they have many colors to offer. The summary says there are five customizable options and each option has a preset color. I want to point out that these colors can be changed and the program offers far more than five colors! If I recall correctly there are fifteen but dont quote me on that. In my opinion the mouse is better than the Razor counterpart as far as features (though the buttons on the Razor Naga are easier to use in the beginning). I hope that the Redragon continues to work well and does not suffer from the same flaw as the Naga. If it does, I will be sure to update my review! If you buy this product, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Below is my original review from 2014. I have had the same mouse and its been EIGHT YEARS. After eight years, the only issue it has developed is that the texture has worn off on the ring finger rest. As well as the left click sometimes will double click on its own. Im extremely, I mean extremely, impressed with the fact that it has lasted this long and no real detrimental issues have popped up. And its still the same price as it was when I bought it all that time ago. Way to go Red Dragon! Overview: Never really purchasing a gaming mouse before this one has treated me nice so far. Ive had it for about 7 months and the only problem Ive had with it was one time the drivers glitched and my computer didnt recognize it anymore but that was fix by uninstalling and reinstalling them and a quick restart. Really not a big problem to me at all. I saw the other complaints about the LMB breaking off but I have had no concerns at all about it. The clicking pressure has been the same since day one and there arent any parts that move around on me at all. The only concern someone might have about it is the LMB and RMB getting caught on something, like a shirt or cloth etc, and then snapping. Even traveling with it out of its case there have been no problems. Pros: 1. Great Customization (ranging from the DPI to the color scheme to the weighting of the mouse) 2. High Range of DPI (granted 16k is a little high but I use half that on some of my games) 3. Glides around mouse pad very well. 4. Well placed buttons. 5. Caters more to palm type mouse users but also works for those who are of the claw type. 6. Very few bugs/glitches. 7. Very ergonomic for the hand. 8. Never drops signal. 9. Good quality braided cord. Cons: 1. Due to the material it can be a slight challenge to clean (I like to take care of my electronics) 2. Software is probably the most glitchy (sometimes doesnt save the changes you made but rarely happens more than once in a row) Cleaning: I found the best way to take care of the mouse is to use a q-tip to get rid of the dirt and such that collects on the thumb buttons and i normally use a wet cloth to wipe it, then a dry cloth and then a air duster to get rid of any fibers that were left behind. Gaming: Ive used this mouse for many games. Games such as CG GO, BF4, Garrys Mod, PayDay 2, Minecraft and more. The mouse gives you enough options to where you can use it for many games and reduce how many keys you need to use on your keyboard resulting in more reaction time on your part. It doesnt give you so many options, however, as to where one can get lost. Everyday: Not only have I used it but so has my father who doesnt know anything about technology and is able to use it without problem. I have used this mouse every day for the past two months for at least a hour, up to 5-6 hours and it serves its purpose well. I use it for other things like video editing, photoshop, web surfing and music Djing. It works well for every one of those actions. Best Features: 1. Raised ridges on the 5 and 8 key so you know where your thumb is at and youre not sitting there fumbling around trying to press the right button. 2. Quick DPI changing about the scroll wheel is extremely helpful when you get into a game like BF4 and have to change between the different vehicles and a character. 3. Fire button is handy for games like CS GO when you wanna slowly tapfire at the right speed youre able to do that with the button. 4. Resting ridge for your ring finger allows you to pay more attention to the game rather than if your hand bumps into something and you have to readjust. 5. Different weights for customization (I leave all of them in there, there are 8) Software: 1. Allows 3 different profiles and for each profile you can have 5 different DPI sensitivities. 2. Easy to use and self explanatory. 3. Quick installation. Overview: This mouse is great for the price and Im looking forward to what comes next from this company. I would suggests it for those who dont know too much about mice and for those who want a pretty diverse gaming mouse while not spending $200+. I have had no problems with it breaking or any parts being lose or faulty. At this point if it broke I wouldnt be upset because its served over 2000 hours of use.

I really enjoy this mouse, it has a nice weight, and many buttons that you can reprogram. The fire button works with most but not all games as some filter out rapid inputs such as the one it produces, although you can tweak it or rebind it. The software to bind the buttons is kinda janky and you need to run it as administrator to save the profiles but it does what it needs to do. The buttons have a nice feel, as does the scroll wheel. Fair warning the mouse has a grippy texture that is not apparent in the images but it was a pleasant surprise for me, although others may not like the feel of the grippy texture. The DPI switching is very convenient although the scroll wheel changes color based on the DPI and unfortunately I do not believe you can change the colors on it like you can with the rest of the mouse so the colors sometimes do not match. Also of note they include replacement pads for the bottom of the mouse for if they ever wear off. In the end its a very comfortable and practical mouse, it is large and well suited for average to large hands, and has many buttons, good for gaming, and good for everyday use.

I really like that the surface of the mouse has a texture of grip to it. The mouse wheel also has a grip track on it so it is easy to scroll. This is my first MMO mouse and I love it. I cant believe I was playing WOW without it. The rapid-fire button I have only used a couple of times in modern warfare and it seemed like it worked half the time depending on the gun. The side buttons are tilted which helps me only push the button I mean too, and it also helps me feel where the buttons are. Buttons 1-6 are well within reach of my thumb and I use the bottom of my thumb (below the knuckle) to reach the rest of the buttons comfortably. I had trouble saving the keybind buttons in the software but it worked once I made the software run as administrator. You can also change the color of the mouse lights and buttons in this software. Overall I am very pleased with this mouse and I am now interested in this brands other products. I would not be shocked if this brand started competing with other major brands.

This is the best mouse on the market and I recommend it to everyone I talk to. Gamers, filthy casuals, IT, your mom, 50yr old professors, basic white girls... you get it. This mouse makes everything I do on the PC better and more efficient. Seriously cut my homework time in half in some classes in college and now I use it for photo editing at work... and gaming. Here is my setup and why I love this mouse: Buttons 7&10 are Volume control. Button 12 is to change profiles. Necessity. Period. So I have 9 side buttons to play with. Profile 1: Homework/General You only need 1 DPI setting for this so pick your favorite color and set it to 800. Or 1200 for you speed demons. Button 1: Copy Button 2: Paste Button 3: Enter Button 6: Ctl+T Macro (new Tab) BAM! Googling for research? Writing a research paper where terms are repeated? You just halved your time. You are welcome. (You think right click Google search is faster than this? TRY ME!) Profile 2: Photo Editing Here you play with that DPI. Start at the bottom and use all 5 settings. Every tool may need a different speed, especially that eraser tool. Buttons are program dependent so just hotkey your favorite tool. Profile 3, 4 and 5 are gaming. For me they are FPS, MOBA and MMO Google pro DPI settings for your FPS and MOBA games you play. Problem solved. My FPS and MOBA settings I just change in game but I use 1-5 buttons constantly. For MMOs get those macros on! Again game specific. I personally use the fire key to weapon swap in FPS and MMOs. But you can emote with it, Ill judge. My first mouse lasted me 5 years, it still works but the RMB wouldnt register as pressed consistently. Again fully functional for most tasks just affected my FPS games. Also if you are unfamiliar with MOBA games, this means I hit that RMB 85X a minute. This mouse you outlast all of you. Because it lasts so long I would recommend the black version. Nobody needs to see your finger dirt on your mouse.

I want to start off by saying that I love Redragon products and have been using their mice for over a decade now and recently began using their other products this year (2021). I recently (back in October) purchased the Legend Chroma (the one with the aluminum bottom plate and 16 side buttons) and I absolutely loved it, except for one thing which was unable to be changed. That would be the bottom button on the top of the mouse that is a DPI switching button. Because there are 4 buttons in that row (vertical), they extend pretty far down the top of the mouse. I have a hybrid mouse grip (claw + fingertip) and this mouse, while I could grip it perfectly between my fingertips, the webbing between my forefinger and middle finger would sometimes hit just over the top of that DPI/mode switch button, and in the middle of a competitive game, my DPI would suddenly switch and I could suddenly not control my actions and we would lose the game. So, unfortunately, though I love that mouse, I had to break down and order a different mouse with less buttons. *** On the 29th of November, I ordered the Perdition3 M901-2. I like the style and the fact that the buttons didnt go so far down, and I just received it today. I have a couple of immediate gripes but the first one (which is why Im bothering to write this) is: The overall textured surface of the mouse does NOT suit my grip style at ALL. In a game (I play Overwatch mostly, some New World), I cannot hold my mouse at all. This is a massive flaw (for me, some people might like this). Sadly, I didnt see anything in the description about it having this kind of texture on the mouse, and it isnt visible in any of the product pictures. This is really making me hate this mouse, which is sad because I really like how my hand fits on the mouse, I like the top button layout, and I have already tried it out and my hand no longer accidentally pushes me into another random dpi mode anymore, which is awesome. But I cannot grip my mouse anymore ..... which is bad. really bad. That --^ is the first and foremost reason why I am bothering to write up this long review. It makes the mouse unusable for me. :( The second thing, which is very frustrating, is that right out of the box, the left button does a double click, instead of a single click. I checked in the customization settings to see if for some reason the left button was bound to a double click, and it was just bound to *left click* so it must be a manufacturing error. While this is unmistakably annoying (I had to spend 3 hours to rebind my keys in game because every time I clicked to activate the rebind menu, bc i was double clicking on accident, it bound my left click instead and removed left click from what it was bound to). Lastly, compared to the Legend Chroma, this mouse is significantly lighter (even with all the weights installed). The cord is honestly heavier than the mouse, and I found myself pushing against the weight of the cord to make movements across my gaming mat. This combined with the fact that I just cannot get a solid grip on my mouse is why I cannot recommend THIS mouse to anyone who has a claw, fingertip, or claw + fingertip hybrid mouse grip and games. ***
